Abstract

 This paper discusses the increase or decrease in voter participation in Pandeglang Regency in the 2020 Pemilukada amid the exposure to Covid-19, as a reflection of the essence of democracy in Indonesia. The approach used in this paper is qualitative, with descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the discussion concluded that the electoral participation in Pandeglang Regency in the Regional Head General Election of December 9, 2020, increased even though it did not match the figures targeted by the Pandeglang KPU. This assessment is considering its implementation in the middle of Covid-19 and the floods that hit Pandeglang. Also the figures achieved were higher than the achievements of the previous regional head elections in 2015.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the leadership role of the Village Head in increasing community participation in implementing development in Kadujangkung Village, Mekarjaya District, Pandeglang Regency. Data collection was carried out through observation data, interviews, and field studies, documentation, recordings. , Mekarjaya District, Pandeglang Regency, leadership is really needed to increase community participation so that local communities contribute more to development. There are still local village communities who do not have a sense of responsibility to work together to advance the village where a village will be able to progress if there is participation from own society.In realizing the vision and mission led by the village head, it takes the form of realizing Kadujangkung Village as an independent village to achieve a healthy, intelligent and more prosperous society based on faith and piety. For this reason, it is necessary to create a village government apparatus that is honest, clean, transparent and authoritative. Apart from that, improving the community's economy by empowering the community by empowering the role of BUMDES, improving community health, increasing infrastructure development, especially village road access in a sustainable manner, so that it will facilitate transportation to support the community's economy.

Abstract

This paper examines the political existence of British Muslim immigrants amidst the negative Western perception of Islam. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with library research. This paper concludes that the negative image constructed by the West of Islam does not eliminate the political existence of British Muslim immigrants. This is evidenced by the election of Muslim politicians from both the Labour and Conservative parties to political positions in Britain, whether as mayors, members of parliament, or ministers. However, sentiment against Muslim immigrants cannot be eliminated because terrorist acts carried out by Muslim groups that do not represent Islam have an impact on Muslims themselves, who have actually grown and developed and enjoyed the freedom to practice their religion in Britain. These acts of terrorism are often described by Muslim scholars as foolishness.Artkel ini mengkaji eksistensi politik imigran Muslim Inggris di tengah persepsi negatif Barat terhadap Islam. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Makalah ini menyimpulkan bahwa citra negatif yang dibangun oleh dunia Barat terhadap Islam tidak menghapus eksistensi politik imigran Muslim di Inggris. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan terpilihnya politisi Muslim dari Partai Buruh maupun Partai Konservatif ke berbagai jabatan politik di Inggris, baik sebagai wali kota, anggota parlemen, maupun menteri. Namun, sentimen terhadap imigran Muslim tidak dapat sepenuhnya dihilangkan karena tindakan terorisme yang dilakukan oleh kelompok-kelompok yang mengatasnamakan Islam—padahal tidak mewakili ajaran Islam—berdampak pada komunitas Muslim itu sendiri. Padahal, komunitas ini telah tumbuh dan berkembang serta menikmati kebebasan dalam menjalankan ajaran agamanya di Inggris. Tindakan terorisme tersebut sering kali digambarkan oleh para cendekiawan Muslim sebagai bentuk kebodohan.

Abstract

Regional governments have an important role in the development of their own regions and must have the ability to increase revenue and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of budget use in order to improve public services to the community. Budget performance can be measured through the level of budget absorption. In increasing accountability for the use of budget revenues, the Banten provincial government issued Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2011 concerning Regional Taxes with reference to Law No. 28 of 2009 which includes the concept of earmarking tax. The regulation states that 10% of motorized vehicle tax is allocated for the construction, maintenance of roads and public transportation. The purpose of implementing this earmarking tax is to gradually and continuously improve the quality of service and create good governance and clean government. This research method uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The results of this research are road maintenance with a minimum of 10% of the profit sharing of motorized vehicle tax in Banten province which has exceeded the predetermined minimum limit and has been absorbed. Total earmarking funds reached 50.01% of road maintenance costs and road maintenance expenditures reached 19.99% of total Motor Vehicle Tax revenues which were shared into the Banten Province treasury.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang perubahan fisik lingkungan pesisir dan respon ekologi Pemerintah Kabupaten Pandeglang yang menjadi isu strategis dan krusial di Kabupaten Pandeglang, Banten. Mengingat wilayah ini memiliki kerentanan ekologis dan sosial-ekonomi yang tinggi terhadap ancaman bencana alam maupun aktivitas antropogenik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik tinjauan literatur sistematis terhadap 15 sumber akademik berbahasa Indonesia yang relevan, mencakup artikel jurnal, laporan penelitian, tugas akhir, serta publikasi ilmiah terkait dinamika pesisir Pandeglang. Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya urgensi penegasan terhadap perlunya pendekatan pengelolaan lingkungan pesisir yang lebih komprehensif, adaptif, dan berbasis sains. Pemerintah daerah perlu memperkuat sistem monitoring perubahan fisik berbasis teknologi geospasial guna memetakan risiko secara akurat. Selain itu, penting untuk memperjelas mekanisme koordinasi lintas sektoral serta mengintegrasikan perlindungan ekosistem mangrove dan terumbu karang sebagai benteng alami terhadap abrasi serta kenaikan permukaan air laut. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa diperlukan pelibatan aktif masyarakat lokal dalam skema mitigasi bencana untuk memastikan keberlanjutan fungsi ekonomi dan ekologi wilayah pesisir secara jangka panjang. Langkah preventif ini krusial guna meminimalisir dampak degradasi lingkungan yang kian masif serta memperkuat resiliensi wilayah terhadap perubahan iklim global yang berdampak langsung pada kesejahteraan penduduk pesisir di Kabupaten Pandeglang.

Abstract

The development of social media has brought about significant changes in the way communication occurs, including in conveying public issues among the younger generation who are active users of digital platforms. Currently, social media is not only used as a means of entertainment and interaction, but also as a primary source of information related to public issues and policies. This study aims to determine the extent to which exposure to information on social media can influence the attitudes of the younger generation towards public issues. The approach used was quantitative with the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, which was processed using the SmartPLS application. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires with a five-point Likert scale to 100 young respondents who actively use social media and are frequently exposed to related information. The results of testing the measurement model indicate that all indicators have met the criteria for convergent validity and reliability. This is evident from the Average Variance Extracted (AVE) value which is above 0.50, as well as the Cronbach's Alpha and Composite Reliability values ??which have exceeded the minimum limit of 0.70. Furthermore, the structural model found that exposure to information on social media has a positive and significant influence on the attitudes of the younger generation. This is indicated by the path coefficient value of 0.655 with a significance level of p < 0.05. The R-square value of 0.429 indicates that the information exposure variable is able to explain 42.9% of the variation in attitudes of the younger generation, while the remainder is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings demonstrate that social media has a significant role in shaping the perspectives of the younger generation, especially through the intensity of exposure and how the information is packaged. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to the development of digital communication studies, as well as serve as a consideration in efforts to improve the literacy of the younger generation to be more critical in responding to information circulating on social media.

Aksi terorisme ini sering digambarkan oleh para cendekiawan Muslim sebagai tindakan bodoh.
