Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of junior high school students’ spatial and mathematical logical intelligence based on understanding the concepts. Spatial intelligence indicators in this study are reviewed from students’ abilities in using images as a tool for solving problems, connecting data with concepts that have been held, and finding patterns in solving problems. On the other hand, the indicators of students’ mathematical logical intelligence is observed by looking at students' abilities to mention and understand information that is known in a problem, to draw up a plan of completion and to do mathematical calculations correctly. The indicators of understanding concepts are restating a concept, providing examples and non-examples of concepts, and applying concepts or algorithms in problem solving. The research method in this research is the Ex Post Facto correlational type, with using a purposive sampling as the sampling technique. The results of the data analysis obtained a correlation coefficient is around 0.93 with 86% R square. The relationship between the spatial intelligence variables is shown by the understanding of concepts by 86%, the level of the relationship, with the correlation coefficient is 0.93, where mathematical logical intelligence with an understanding of 80%, with the level of the relationship of 0.89, and the relationship of spatial intelligence with a mathematical logical is described by a 77% level of the relationship, with 0.88, as the correlation coefficient. The results showed that there was a very strong relationship between spatial intelligence and logical mathematics in terms of understanding students' concepts.

Abstract

Students' difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts require innovative and interactivelearning media. This study aims to develop an E-Module assisted by Microsoft Mathematics on matrixmaterial for grade XI students at MAS Ulumul Qur’an Langsa using the ADDIE development model(Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The study involved 30 students, utilizing observation, tests, and questionnaires as research instruments. Media expert validation resultsshowed an initial score of 80.5%, increasing to 97% in the second stage, while material expert validationachieved 81.25% in the first stage and 92.3% in the second stage, indicating that the E-Module is highlyvalid and feasible for use. Teacher and student evaluations demonstrated high practicality andeffectiveness, with average scores of 87.8% from students and 95.1% from teachers. In conclusion, theMicrosoft Mathematics-assisted E-Module on matrix material is valid, practical, and effective to use asa learning medium on matrix material.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills one of the important aspects that must be possessed by students' mathematical thinking skills to connect mathematical concepts as well as the development of thinking processes in solving mathematical problems. The purposes of this research are to determine the level of students' creative thinking skills in solving Higher-Order Thinking questions and to investigate the students' creative thinking skills in solving Higher Order Thinking Questions. This research employed the descriptive qualitative method with 28 students who have passed the Calculus subjects the samples of the research determined through nonprobability sampling. The data were collected through tests and interviews. The research discovered that the average score obtained was 38.43%, specifically35.71%of the students were at the very creative level, 50% of the students were at the creative level, and 14, 29% of the students were at the fairly creative level. Students' creative thinking skills were lacking in creativeness and detail indicators. They were not able to solve problems properly and correctly. The fluency and flexibility indicators were in a good category. So, it can be concluded that the level of students’ creative-thinking skills in solving the Higher-Order Thinking Skills problems was at the creative level.

Abstract

The ability to solve students' mathematical problems cannot be diagnosed clearly just by using test questions; it must also be seen by looking at students' responses to the problem-solving process. As a result, the purpose of this study is to investigate students' mathematical problem-solving skill as well as their responses to the problem-solving process. This study is descriptive-qualitative in nature. Three junior high schools (SMP) in Aceh participated in this study, with 76 class VIII students serving as research subjects. Tests, observations, and interviews were used as data collection techniques. Quantitative data were descriptively analyzed using proportions, while qualitative data were descriptively analyzed using coding. The results showed that 25 percent of students wrote down what was known and asked, which was an indication of problem comprehension; 21 percent of students were able to devise problem-solving strategies; and 15 percent of students had done calculations correctly. correct, 11 percent of students checked their answers again. Based on the responses given by students, there were some difficulties experienced by students when solving math problems, namely difficulty understanding reading texts, using mathematical terms, making problem connections, making decisions, uncertainty in solving problems, time, carelessness, and boredom. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a resource for teachers and education practitioners in developing focus, discipline, and patience in problem solving and selecting learning models appropriate to the needs of their students.
