Abstract

The identification of hate speech must be accompanied by the identification of social identity concepts. This study aims to provide an alternative corpus with text metadata and social identity based on relevant laws that are designed to be implemented in machine learning. Two key questions are addressed: what social identity semantic domains are realized in the corpus, and what are the accuracy measurement results from the corpus? To achieve these aims, the study adopts a mixed-methods approach: qualitative for the first question and quantitative for the second. This research falls under the broader umbrella of computational linguistics, utilizing semantic domain theory and natural language processing. The first approach shows that the corpus only contributes five out of nine formulated domains, dominated by negative (uncategorized), religion, and ethnicity. The second approach indicates suboptimal conditions in the annotation distribution of the corpus, despite an average accuracy rate of over 80%. This condition limits the model’s ability to generalize beyond the information within the corpus, especially regarding social identity categories that are not fully represented. This study differs from previous ones by focusing on data categorization based on more up-to-date legal sources. Future research could elaborate on this work by incorporating new language use concepts aligned with the corpus's original goal to detect hate speech.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to criticize the gender language features proposed by Coates (2013) proposed in Lakoff's theory (1975) by investigating speeches expressed by two different genders in interviews. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. Data were analyzed based on the theory of Coates (2013) to find language features based on gender and use the taxonomy of the hedging strategy proposed by Martin-Martin (2008). The results of the research show that male-female language features can be used by the opposite gender by looking at the perspective of the use of hedges and strategies in the concept of speech expressed by gender (male, female).Keywords: feature language; gender; hedges; hedging

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jaminan hukum terhadap hak kebebasan beragama di israel berdasarkan Fundamental Agreement. Pertanyaan tersebut akan dijawab berdasarkan analisis sederhana terhadap pasal pasal yang terkandung dalam fundamental agreement dengan kesesuaian terhadap konsep hak kebebasan beragama yang terdapat dalam prinsip prinsip hukum hak asasi manusia internasional. Sumber penelitian ini adalah, fundamental agreement, konvensi internasional, doktrin, hukum hak asasi manusia internasional dan penelitian hukum yang telah ada sebelumnya. Sumber hukum dikumpulkan dengan cara melakukan studi literatur yang kemudian dianalisis secara logis sistematis dan yuridis. Hasil penelitian hukum ini menunjukkan bahwa jaminan terhadap hak kebebasan beragama di israel berdasarkan fundamental agreement telah sesuai dan memuat prinsip yang terdapat dalam prinsip dasar hak asasi manusia dan inti normatif dalam hak kebebasan beragama.
