Abstract

Character education is very necessary in the formation of national character. If not, it will form Indonesian people far from the character values of the nation itself and this will certainly have implications for the progress of the nation. Character education can form a good and moral national character, with the aim of forming a knowledgeable and characterful person. Therefore, to form a good character, it needs to be fostered from an early age, namely at the elementary school age level (SD). Guidance and counseling in elementary schools is an integral part of the SD pathway as an effort to help students develop their abilities optimally. One of the right techniques to be integrated into guidance and counseling services in elementary schools is healing stories or what is called a story as a basis for therapeutic change. This study aims to determine the application of the healing stories technique to develop the character values of students at SD Negeri 52 Kota Ternate. This research process was carried out based on action research procedures integrated into the Indonesian language subject by applying the healing stories technique.

Abstract

Cultural understanding in English language education for engineering is crucial in today's globalized world. Engineers need to not only be knowledgeable in their field but also understand different cultures to communicate and work effectively. Proficiency in English is essential for engineers as it is a common language in the industry. Cultural competence involves being able to interact well with people from diverse backgrounds. Research shows that those with high cultural competence can manage conflicts and collaborate better. The aim of this study is to explore how cultural understanding impacts English language learning in engineering and how it can be improved in the curriculum. Teaching strategies that promote cultural competence are important for students to succeed in multicultural work environments. Incorporating cultural elements into the curriculum can help students understand how culture influences communication and collaboration. Social learning and constructivist theories can aid in teaching cultural competence in English education for engineering. A descriptive qualitative approach is used to study cultural competence in English education for engineering, with participants from engineering student of Sekolah Tinggi Teknik Atlas Nusantara. Abstract

Career guidance and counseling have an important role in school programs that aim to stimulate and facilitate students’ career development, including fostering attitudes and interest in the field of entrepreneurship. This article aims to conceptually describe the contribution of career guidance and counseling services in the form of scientific publications as an effort to foster students' entrepreneurial attitudes in Ternate City. The research method used is a narrative literature review (NRL). The results of the research show that in the last five years, there has been no contribution from career guidance and counseling services in fostering entrepreneurial attitudes for elementary to middle school students in Ternate City which have been published in the form of reputable scientific journals. Another finding is that the contribution of career guidance and counseling services using various techniques is effective in fostering students’ entrepreneurial attitudes, especially at the secondary school level in several regions in Indonesia, however, the number of publications in the form of scientific journals is still very minimal.
