Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the cultivation of written-based aspects of communication digital literacy in learning Natural Sciences (Science) and exploring oral-based communication aspects digital literacy in learning Natural Sciences (IPA). The research method uses a qualitative research approach, the research design uses a case study. Data collection techniques in research are observation, interviews and document analysis. The results of the research show that communication culture is based on digital literacy and succeeded in creating a dynamic and innovative Natural Sciences (Science) learning environment. Students demonstrate significant improvement in the ability to use technology to express scientific ideas, both written and verbal. The use of digital tools such as Canva, PowerPoint and online collaboration platforms not only increases student engagement, but also facilitates a deeper understanding of Natural Sciences (Science) concepts. This culture successfully integrates aspects of written and oral communication, enabling students to develop the skills needed in the 21st century.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools is not fully oriented to higher order thinking skills (HOTS). In fact, HOTS play an important role in solving mathematical problems so that they require the support of effective teaching materials. The purpose of this study was to develop mathematics teaching materials to improve HOTS in grade 3 elementary school students. This research is a development research using the Borg & Gall model. The stages of this research consist of information gathering, development planning, product draft development, and initial product testing. Research data obtained through questionnaires and tests. The data were then analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the product assessment results from material experts were 88.09, media experts were 92.00, linguists were 92.30, and practitioners were 92.24. Considering the results of the validation assessment from several experts, it can be concluded that the mathematics teaching materials developed have been feasible to improve HOTS in grade 3 elementary school students. The development of 3D-based mathematics teaching materials on two-dimentional figure provides assistance for students in solving problems more realistically and easily. Book products are not only in the form of pictures but can be seen, folded or rotated so that they can develop students' thinking in analyzing, evaluating and creating which are adapted to the context of solving mathematical problems in elementary schools.

Abstract

This paper documents an analysis result of various research articles that discuss aspects of educational quality, either the quality of input, process, output, and outcome. The articles that are analyzed are 20 articles from 2014-2022, which were accredited nationally and non-SINTA. It aims to determine the influence and role of the quality aspects of education that take place in an educational institution on the quality management of education in elementary schools. The type of research is a literature review using a systematic scheme that provides an overview of article publications with the number of data searches at 30 articles. After conducting the review process, 20 articles match the criteria. The research results reveal that there were 9 articles accredited SINTA 3, 2 articles SINTA 2, 3 articles SINTA 4, 2 SINTA articles 5, and 4 non-SINTA articles. Of the 20 articles analyzed, 14 articles discussed input aspects, 4 articles discussed process aspects, 1 article discussed input-process aspects, and 1 article discussed input, process, and output aspects. The analysis results indicate that the input aspects of school principals and teachers have a positive influence and a significant role in managing the quality of education in elementary schools. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of the influence and role of the process, output, and outcome aspects in managing the quality ofelementary school education.

Abstract

This article describes a study about the learning problems of integer counting operations during the COVID-19 pandemic era. The study was qualitative descriptive research with case study methods. The study involved the students of class VI di SDN 1 Jambukidul Ceper Klaten. Techniques of data collection were carried out by applying the observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity of data used was a triangulation of sources, methods, and theories. Data were also analyzed through Milles & Huberman analysis techniques. The results showed that the learning problems of integer counting operationsduring the COVID-19 pandemic were (1) the abstract material characteristics that made students difficult to digest the meaning of problems into mathematical language; (2) limited space for teachers to control student learning attitudes, and (3) students’ low motivation andlearning outcomes about integer counting operations. In this relation, the researcher recommended that further studies are needed to be studied related to the selection of innovative learning models and media that are considered effective for the integer counting operating material, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic era.
