Abstract

Keamanan siber dalam forum multilateral masih mengalami perdebatan dan tantangan hingga saat ini di tahun 2021. Forum multilateral selain menjadi sarana kerjasama bagi para negara untuk mencari solusi bersama juga menjadi ruang untuk para aktor mengedepankan politisasi kepentingan mereka dalam agenda multilateral. Isu strategis dan substantif dari keamanan siber hingga saat ini sudah meluas ke konflik geopolitik sehingga terjadi redefinisi dari alam keamanan siber itu sendiri yang berpengaruh ke forum multilateral. Artikel ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif menggunakan data sekunder untuk menganalisa berbagai sub konteks yang relevan. Artikel ini akan membahas bagaimana politisasi keamanan siber dilakukan di forum multilateral pada era 4.0. Artikel ini juga membahas mengenai peran pemerintah yang diredefinisi oleh kebutuhan akan peran industri dan non-state actor dalam dinamika multilateral untuk agenda keamanan siber.

Abstract

Forestry export is one of Indonesia’s strongest industries embraced in economic diplomacy or the international trade negotiation. FLEGT VPA that is conducted between Indonesia and European Union gave a fresh head start for Indonesia’s forestry exports, however it also exposed Indonesia into new challenges amid the Indonesia-EU CEPA negotiation with the EU Green Deal happening. Therefore, Indonesia needs to scrutinize every dimension that might obstruct national export development in the post-pandemic era and to keep the demands flowing for the forest industries. This article is aimed to discuss on how FLEGT VPA impacts Indonesia’s forest timber exports after the signing of Permendag 74/2020. This article also discussed the context on how Indonesia through FLEGT VPA can face against the EU Green Deal in forestry export. This article is researched using document-based research of literature studies and supporting data. This research concludes that FLEGT VPA through Permendag 74/2020 is adopted as part of Indonesia’s trade development and recovery efforts in post Covid-19 pandemic and to adopts the Timber Legal Verification System. FLEGT VPA has also impacts the forestry small and medium exporters because of the increased production cost as the result of the timber bureaucracy that was set by the government. This article resulted that FLEGT VPA however imposed challenges but at the same time developing its market capabilites and export to create a positive image for the sustainable timber industry. Amid the increased green politics in European Union affecs intra ASEAN hence committed for all member states in starting through possible foreign trade and economic cooperation scheme.

Abstract

The heated bilateral relation between Iran and the United States has brought the middle east into another level of problem. The divided geopolitical and regional interest of both countries has led to several and many multidimensional issues, ranging from political, security, and even to economic ones. This article discussed the Iran – US tension on their proxy conflict in the Middle East. This article employs the Regional Security Complex Theory to construct the events related to both states’ proxy conflicts. The polarized region for sure has drawn another line that seems to be more complexed for both countries to achieve mutual understanding and continued peacebuilding. The US withdrawal from JCPOA, killing of Soleimani, and Saudi Arabia – Iran Yemen proxy war exacerbated the status quo. This article perceived that the intertwined issues show how the traditional thought of security should be redefined as both countries try to gain bargaining power. Especially with Iran that was hindered very much by sanctions and embargo placed by the US. This article discusses many important issues on Iran, US, and Saudi Arabia involvement and their correlated dynamics within the UN. This article analyzed Trump’s leadership style in the Middle East and its implication from the proxy war to the Middle East security architecture.
