Abstract

This research aims to identify the determining factors for the transmission of fishing between generations and analyze the intergenerational model with the variable parental support in creating sustainable livelihood activities in coastal areas. This research uses a seemingly unrelated bivariate probit regression model and multinomial logistic regression with 270 samples. The results show that the intergenerational transmission of fishing work depends on the father's hopes and also the child's wishes, while the father's hopes of wanting his child to become a fisherman like himself (which is the cause of endogeneity) depends on the child's liking for the sea, the education of household head, the experience of household head. steps, the conditions of fishing business and community participation. From the multinomial logistic regression model, the results show that variables that describe economic and social conditions play an important role in the decision to occur intergenerational transmission.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the United States Monetary Policy (FFR) on  Indonesia’s exchange rate and inflation , as well as how  Indonesia’s interest rate (SBI) responds to FFR changes using Vector Autoregression (VAR), Impulse Response Function (IRF), and Forecast Error Variance Decomposition (FEDV). The results indicate that FFR increases lead to Rupiah depreciation in the short term due to capital outflows, while inflation rises through cost-push inflation.  Although SBI is effective in stabilizing the exchange rate and inflation in the short term, its influence weakens over time as external factors become more dominant. Additionally, higher FFR reduces investment and consumption, which recover as domestic monetary policies stabilize. Thus,  Bank Indonesia must adjust interest rates, intervene in the foreign exchange market, and strengthen fiscal policy coordination to maintain economic stability amid global volatility.

Abstract

Improving human resource quality is one of the strategic priorities within Indonesia’s national development framework. Although the Human Development Index (HDI) shows an upward trend, its growth rate has tended to decelerate over time. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Information and Communication Technology Development Index (ICT Development Index) and ICT skills on human development in Indonesia. The analysis utilizes panel data from 34 provinces over the 2015–2023 period using a fixed effects model. The estimation results show that all independent variables have a statistically significant influence on the improvement of HDI. These findings indicate that technological progress and digital skills play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life. Therefore, policy formulation is needed to promote equitable access to information technology and the enhancement of digital capabilities as the foundation for inclusive and sustainable human development.

Abstract

Labor absorption reflects the company's capacity to employ labor. The large and medium-scale manufacturing sector has an important role in supporting the Indonesian economy, with the hope of providing added value and absorbing a significant amount of labor. This study aims to evaluate the effect of wage, capital, and output variables on the level of labor absorption in the sector, using panel data from 34 provinces during the period 2017 to 2022 through a fixed effect model approach. The results of the analysis show that wage and output variables have a positive and significant impact, while capital shows a negative and significant effect on labor absorption in the large and medium manufacturing industry sector. This finding suggests that increasing capital risks encouraging automation that reduces the role of labor. Therefore, policies are needed that support labor-intensive sectors so that technological efficiency remains in line with increasing employment opportunities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and identify the extent to which the variables of education, health, wages, and labor force participation influence labor productivity in the regency/city areas of East Nusa Tenggara Province. This study uses panel data consisting of 22 regencies/cities over the period 2015-2023. The analysis method used in this study is panel data regression with the best model, namely the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Based on the panel data regression test, the results show that partially, education has a negative and insignificant effect on labor productivity, whereas health, wages, and labor force participation have a positive and significant effect on labor productivity in East Nusa Tenggara Province. Simultaneously, the variables of education, health, wages, and labor force participation show a positive and significant influence on labor productivity in the regency/city areas of East Nusa Tenggara.
