Abstract

Public campus has a mandate to saving of electrical energy. Electrical energy consumption is often wasteful in building. There is tendency wasteful by user. Electronic equipment is often still turn on at idle time. Only a few students want to turn off the equipment and shut down the computer. Saving of electrical energy is not only at idle time but it can be improved into operational hour. It is not depending on idle time or operational hours, but depends on human presence. Implementation of electrical energy saving has to be supported by frugal behavior and equipment technology. In this study, we name system of smart detection and control to electrical energy (Sisdece). This system is consist of hardware and software. Hardware applies passive infrared sensor (PIR) sensor, wireless sensor network (WSN), microcontroller ESP32, access point, relay. Software use C++, hypertext preprocessor (PHP), hypertext markup language (HTML) and android studio. Result of measurement has been done in a month during November 2020. Average of energy saved is 12.51 kWh and total of electrical energy is 105.86 kWh. Comparison of energy saved to electrical energy is 11.81%. This is a significant reduction to electrical bill. The result is expected as benchmark of electrical energy management in Politeknik Negeri Medan (POLMED).

Abstract

Information system technology has been applied to all organizations, both organizations and non-profits, even though the development of information technology has been felt by the education sector. Slowly technology began to replace some of the work and activities carried out by humans. However, today's technology is still not perfectly applied. This study tries to get an idea of how the participants respond using computer technology in carrying out their exam process or better known as the Computer Based Test (CBT) based exam. Respondents were selected as many as 100 people who are willing to fill out the research questionnaire. To get good analysis results, this study uses a problem-solving method, namely by using the Unified Theory Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) with various constructs. As a result, the UTAUT method explains the acceptance of CBT users with the business expectation performance (PE) construct which has a significant effect on the acceptance and use of a system (BIUS). To measure the level of variation in the change in the independent variable on the dependent variable or the highest R-Square value in the UTAUT method is 73%. From these results it can be concluded that the UTAUT method is the best method used in this case study research.

Abstract

Students are one of the important pillars in the life cycle of a university. In the process of developing, a university can be influenced by how many bachelor degree (S1) graduates from the university are. The number of graduations of a college sometimes has a low ratio when compared to the number of students admitted in the same school year. This low passing rate of students can be caused by several factors, such as the number of student activities that are participated in, economic factors, and several other unexpected factors. This makes a university must have a scheme or a formula that can predict whether the student can graduate on time. Normally, a bachelor (S1) student takes 8 semesters of education. But the existence of several factors that have been mentioned can make the time to take S1 education to be more, or even fail to graduate. This study will try to compare the results of the analysis of the two methods in the classification algorithm to predict student graduation. The algorithm used is the K-Nearest Neighbor and Naïve Bayes Algorithm. This study also aims to identify the best algorithm among the two classification algorithm choices. This research concluded that the Naïve Bayes algorithm has the same level of accuracy as the KNN algorithm in predicting the graduation of students in the Medical Education study program, which is 90%

Abstract

The best employees will make an agency to increase in its operations and can develop rapidly. However, relations on the part of an agency are still not optimal in selecting the best staff. Therefore, human resource management is needed in an agency with the selection of the best employee staff to spur staff morale in improving operations, dedication and performance in an agency, so that it becomes better, namely by creating a Decision Support System in selecting the best staff employees by using the Smarter and Saw method comparison method. The Smarter and Saw method is a decision-making method using multiplication to determine the value of a criterion, where the value for each criterion must be determined in advance with the weight of each criterion concerned. By utilizing the advantages and disadvantages of each method, the comparison of this method is able to give a value of 79.5 for the Smarter method, 93 for using SAW. Decision support systems using this comparison method can assist in the selection of the best employees and provide an alternative choice of ranking results

Abstract

This Research aims to develop a decision support system that can facilitate the proposal selection process and provide an alternative ranking for the selection results of student creativity program proposal selection. This decision support system uses a combination calculation of the Simple Additive Weighting and Weigthted Product methods, hereinafter referred to as Modified SAW. The criteria used in this assessment refer to the 2020 Student Creativity Program Guidebook. The data used in this decision support system uses proposal selection data in the Student Creativity Development Unit of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra in 2019 for 2020. This system was developed by determining criteria and weight determination using the Simple Additive Weighting method and then make improvements to the weight and determine the preference value using the Weighted Product method. Each of the SAW and WP methods certainly has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of SAW with a simple and simple ranking process, can be applied to decision-making cases such as in the recommendation of selecting proposals with various attributes. While the use of Weighted Product (WP) is often used because the weight is calculated based on the level of importance and can evaluate the set of attributes by multiplying all criteria with alternative results as well as the power between weights and alternative multiplication results. This WP method can also be used in assisting in recommendation of proposal selection based on what is needed by the University. By utilizing the advantages and disadvantages of each method, this combination is able to produce an accuracy of 91% for the SAW method, 97% for the accuracy using the WP and 99% for the accuracy value for the combination of the SAW and WP methods. This decision support system using MOD SAW can help facilitate the proposal selection process and provide alternative ranking results. Further research is suggested for the development of a decision support system for proposal selection using a combination of different methods between SAW and other methods.

Abstract

APT (Academic Potential Test) is a test that aims to measure a person's ability in the academic field in general. In the implementation of the APT exam, it is carried out in the admission of new students and its application online, using a website-based application, each prospective new student will be given a login account to take the APT exam simultaneously and at a predetermined time. While the process can be accessed anywhere with an internet network. The implementation of the APT exam does not always run smoothly or well, in fact almost every time the APT exam is carried out there are problems, problems that arise because the questions given do not have differences in workmanship which causes the APT exam results to be impure and accurate. To overcome the problems that continue to occur in the implementation of the APT exam, an algorithm or method is needed that can randomize the questions in the APT exam. In this study, the Linear Congruent (LCM) and Multiplicative Random Number Generator (Multiplicative RNG) methods are random methods that are applied to randomize the APT exam questions so that the APT exam question packages can have different question positions and between question packages and the results of the application of this method will be compared to measures how complex the randomization is for each method. By using the LCM model the level of complexity of the questions increases to 100% while by using the MRNG method the level of complexity of the questions increases to 50%.
