Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement and profile of students' conceptual understanding through a local wisdom-based inquiry model. This research used mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. The population in this study were all class 5 students from six elementary schools in Mayong Jepara. The selection of sample of this study used simple random sampling technique. The study has two sample of class 5 of SD Negeri 2 and SD Negeri 3 Mayong Lor with 27 student and 30 student as the sample, respectively. The first stage is a quantitative method in the form of a true-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group design type. Data collection was used test, to know the understanding of the student on heat transfer concept. Then completed using documentation and interview for qualitative stage. Then for data analysis was used n-gain test and description according to Miles and Hubermans models. Based on the conceptual understanding score shows the average score obtained by the experimental class student was increased from 51.48 to 77.41 and the control class obtained an average increase from 52.33 to 66.00. The results of the average difference test of students’ conceptual understanding show that the sig. (2-tailed) value generated is 0.001 < 0.05, it indicates H0 is rejected, which means that there is a difference in conceptual understanding between the inquiry class and the local wisdom-based inquiry class. The profile of concept understanding on each indicator of class 5 students on the theme of heat and its transfer through the inquiry model as a whole is included in the good category with a percentage of 79.32 and the results of the interviews showed that students are easier to understand the material conveyed through direct observation to the roof tile manufacturing company.

Abstract

Cu-doped ZnO (ZnO:Cu) thin film was deposited on glass substrate using a sol-gel spin coating method. The film was prepared at various spinning rate followed by sintering at 250 °C for 10 min and annealing at 350 °C for 2 hours. The effect of spinning rate on structural properties was investigated by means of X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). The diffraction pattern indicated that Cu-ZnO thin films showed a strong c-axis orientation, i.e. the peak attributed to (002) plane at a of corresponding to hexagonal wurtzite crystals. An increase in the spinning rate resulted in ZnO:Cu thin films with high homogeneity. It was further proved by SEM and EDX results.

Abstract

Analisa Directional Coupler dengan inti Polimer Optical Fiber Dan Cladding Polymethyl Metacrylate melalui simulasi dan eksperimen. Proses simulasi melalui penentuan parameter fisis seperti indeks bias core dan cladding,  cahaya (merah 550 nm), geometri (cladding panel persegi berdimensi 0.2×2×4 cm, dan core 2 silinder identik berdiameter 0.1 cm sejajar membujur di tengah cladding), material (core menggunakan POF  dan Cladding PMMA), diakhiri analisa hasil. Eksperimen melalui Proses fabrikasi dari persiapan bahan, pengupasan POF, dan pemotongan PMMA menjadi dimensi 0.2×2×(2/3/4) cm (variasi panjang), digali lubang mambujur berdimensi 0.2×0.1 cm  di tengah untuk meletakan inti POF. Karakterisasi menggunakan led (merah 550 nm) sebagai light transmitter, photo transistor sebagai transducer, dan multimeter untuk pengukuran. Proses simulasi menghasilkan citra propagsi cahaya merah dalam directional coupler, dan eksperimen mendapatkan nilai coupling factor dari directional coupler. Melalui penelitian ini diketahui citra pola perambatan , titik-titik cahaya mencapai peak dan low serta potensi interferensi dalam directional coupler berdimensi besar. Juga potensi coupler untuk dirangkai dan difabrikasi menjadi perangkat fotonik sederhana dengan empat kabel yang dapat divariasikan. Kesimpulan penelitian menekankan perlunya penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mendapatkan coupling factor yang sesuai kebutuhan, meningkatkan kemudahan penggunaan dan kualitas coupler dalam aplikasi praktis seperti sistem komunikasi optik dan sensor optik.
