Abstract

Dalam kaitannya dengan bahasa sebagai sistem tanda, Buhler, seperti dikutip oleh Pelz (1984), menggambarkan proses komunikasi sebagai segi tiga semiotik, segi yang pertama melambangkan pembicara sebagai penyampai pesan, segi yang kedua melambangkan pendengar sebagai penerima pesan, dan segi yang ketiga adalah lambang dari Gegenstand yang merupakan referensi dari realitas objek yang dibicarakan . Agar proses komunikasi tersebut berhasil, harus ada kegayutan clan ketiga elemennya . Apabila tidak ada kegayutan dari salah satu elemennya, niscaya proses komunikasi akan gagal . Berhasil atau tidaknya proses komunikasi, salah satunya ditentukan oleh pemahaman antara pembicara dan pendengar mengenai objek yang dibicarakan . Oleh sebab itu, referensi mengenai tuturan dalam suatu peristiwa komunikasi harus dipahami oleh kedua belah pihak, yaitu pembicara dan pendengar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konstruksi predikat bahasa Jerman Funktionsverbgefüge dan padanannya dalam bahasa Indonesia, serta mendeskripsikan persamaan dan perbedaan di antara keduanya. Metode analisis gramatika kontrastif digunakan untuk membandingkan konstruksi Funktionsverbgefüge dan padanannya dalam bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua konstruksi predikat tersebut terdiri atas dua unsur, yaitu verbal dan nominal. Kedua konstruksi memiliki bentuk, makna, dan fungsi yang sama, sementara perbedaannya terletak pada distribusi unsur-unsurnya.

Abstract

Although extensive research has been carried out on university students’ online learning readiness, very little attention has been paid to online learning readiness of foreign language learners. Examining the learners' readiness get involved in online learning becomes more fundamental to conduct in this current Covid-19 pandemic since online learning is the only alternative to run educational programs at every level. This study set out to investigate the construct validity of a scale to measure EFL learners' readiness in online learning during covid-19 pandemic. The scale was construdted based on the theories underlying students readiness in online learning. Both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used to empirically validate the scale. A total of 682 undergraduate students from seven universities in Indonesia participated in the study by completing in the google form-based scale. The results of the study showed that the scale comprised of 24 items that converged into a five-latent factor with an acceptable fit. These results are expected to be a consideration basis in planning, implementing, and evaluating EFL online learning programs in the Indonesia context.

Abstract

The diversity of languages in Indonesia has sundry errors such as gaps, errors in interpreting other languages, and others. It means, it also applies when in the process of learning foreign languages at school, especially English. Thus, learning English is difficult to build a positive spirit in learning, making students active and responsive in the learning process. Therefore, this study focuses on examining the types of code-switching and code-mixing in learning English in schools. This study uses a qualitative paradigm, using a descriptive case study type of research. Therefore, the researcher sets the goal to describe the data as it occurs in the phenomenon under study. This study is the occurrence of code-switching and code-mixing events in learning English at school. In this study, the researcher used guided semi structured interviewed as a data collection technique. The data from this study was analyzed based on the steps used, namely identifying the data, classifying the data, and describing the data according to the research objectives. The results of this study are the determinants of code-switching and code-mixing from teachers or students. Then, there are types of each between code-mixing and code-switching.
