Abstract

Hypertention is a type of cardiovascular disease that attacks people, especially the elderly. If you don’t get proper treatment, hypertention causes very serious complications and can even cause loss of life. Handling to reduce hypertention pressure can be done in a non-pharmacological way, namely through physical activity. Doing physical activity is useful for improving blood circulation so that hypertention does not occur. This community service activity is carried out to increase knowledge and train elderly patients who suffer from hypertension to carry out physical activities in daily life to control blood pressure. The community service method is carried out by sending a team to conduct a survey at the hospital and meet directly with patients to conduct an assessment of the condition of elderly people who suffer from hypertension, then developed and plan solutions for handling the problems. Counseling was carried out on the topic of the effect of carrying out physical activity (activities) on blood pressure which was carried out in elderly patients treated at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. Physical activities carried out starting from light, moderate and heavy physical activities. The results of the post test conducted through blood pressure examination results in elderly patients showed a decrease in blood pressure that occured after physical activity. This community service activity is expected to be useful and apllied in every life, especially in elderly patients who suffer from hypertension.

Abstract

The third trimester of pregnancy is a pregnancy that requires vigilance. At this time, pregnant women often experience anxiety about the condition of their baby, which will be born normally or abnormally. Support from her husband and family is something that a mother needs to relieve her anxiety. The main target of this outreach is people in the area This is due to the lack of support given by the husband and family to pregnant women before the birth process. This counseling aims to provide education to husbands and families to provide attention and support to pregnant wives or families so that they do not experience anxiety in facing the birthing process. The targets for this outreach activity are husbands and families (parents) who have wives or children who are in the third trimester of pregnancy. To assess husband and family support, it will be carried out twice, namely asking questions before and after counseling. The results obtained indicate that there is a change in attitude in the form of support for pregnant wives or families before and after being given counseling. This is a good way to overcome problems related to third trimester pregnancy in the health environment.

Abstract

The nutritional issues among adolescents included both undernutrition and overnutrition. Undernutrition was generally caused by low energy intake from food compared to the energy burned by the body, while overnutrition occurred when energy intake exceeded energy expenditure. These nutritional problems also influence adolescents' body image. This research aimed to develop food bar products made from tempeh and tofu waste as snacks for obese adolescents. The research process began with the preparation stage of raw materials, including drying tofu waste. Subsequently, food bars were made using three formulas: F1 (60% dried tofu waste and 40% tempeh), F2 (70% dried tofu waste and 30% tempeh), and F3 (80% dried tofu waste and 20% tempeh). The third stage involved organoleptic testing with 30 untrained panelists, using a preference test for attributes of texture, color, aroma, and taste, with a hedonic scale ranging from 1 (dislike extremely) to 4 (like extremely). Statistical analysis was conducted using ANOVA and Duncan's Test with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that the panelists preferred food bar product F3 based on texture, color, and aroma attributes, while, F1 received the highest rating. Overall, F3 was deemed the most favored. The conclusion of this study indicated that the recommended food bars as snacks for obese adolescents were F3 (80% dried tofu waste and 20% tempeh), with an average liking score of 3 (like).

Abstract

Hypertension is a type of disease whose treatment requires patients to take medication for a long period of time, even for life. This disease can cause new diseases or various complications. So that this does not happen, a good level of compliance with the consumption of anti-hypertension drugs is needed in hypertension sufferers. By taking anti-hypertension medication you can stop the disease and normalize blood pressure levels. Compliance with treatment for hypertensive patients is the main key because hypertension is a disease that must be continuously controlled or managed so as not to cause complications with other diseases. This community service activity aims to socialize or educate the public about compliance with taking anti-hypertension drugs for hypertensive patients in the Karang Anyer Community Health Center working area. The method used was giving a pretest before the socialization was carried out and a posttest after the socialization was carried out on 25 people with hypertension who were participants in the socialization activities. From the results before the socialization was carried out, it was found that the majority of hypertension sufferers were not compliant in taking anti-hypertension medication namely 16 people (64%), and after carrying out socialization activities, it was found that there was an increase in the level of compliance of hypertension sufferers in consuming anti-hypertension drugs, namely 25 people (100%). Therefore, it can be concluded that this socialization or education activity can help hypertensive patients increase their compliance in taking anti-hypertension medication regularly.

Abstract

As the elderly are getting older, this means they need special attention, especially in the areas of health and independence. Therfore, a way is needed to handle this problem so that it can be resolved immediately. By providing on healthy and independent elderly people by doing elderly gymnastics, this is one of the effort that is one of the efforts that can be made to solve this problem. The aim of this community service is to make the elderly aware of the importance of health, especially in old age. The community service methode used is by providing counseling followed by discussion sessions with the elderly to solve the health problems they are currently facing. The ecpected results of this community service is for the elderly know the benefits and importance of doing elderly gymnastics to maintain the health of the elderly. After this community service activity was held, especially the elderly are now willing to do physical activities independently and do elderly gymnastics regularly to improve their health. Thus, now the elderly can do their daily activities independently without expecting help from family or others. Therefore, it is necessary ti develop more useful and interesting activities, so that the elderly are more enthusiastic in increasing life expectancy and creating more productive and independent elderly.
