Abstract

Abstrack Objective: Post partum is the period after childbirth can also be called the puerperium (puerperium) which is the period after childbirth which is treated for the restoration of the uterus for a duration of 6 weeks. Post partum is a period of 6 weeks from the birth of the baby until the reproductive organs return to their normal state before pregnancy. So it is necessary to do relaxation techniques on the mother to overcome the pain experienced by the mother. In this study, researchers have performed an Effleurage Massage using Lemongrass Essential Oil (Cymboppogon) on post partum mothers at Linda Yusnani Clinic, Medan Tembung. Relaxation was given to 15 post partum mothers as respondents in this study. Giving Effleurage Massage using Lemongrass Essential Oil (Cymboppogon) was carried out according to the procedure for the mother and the researchers did it for 3 days with a frequency of once a day, morning, afternoon and evening. Methods: this study was conducted for 3 days after birth. This type of research is Pre Experimental and uses a one group pretest-posttest research design. The population is post partum mothers who experience back pain, totaling 15 post partum mothers. This study uses a total sampling technique. Results: Collecting data through questionnaires and observation. The results of data analysis with the Wilcoxon test result p = 001 which means that there is an effect of giving effleurage massage using lemongrass essential oil (cymbopogon) to reduce back pain in postpartum mothers. Conclusion: effleurage massage combined with lemongrass essential oil can be applied to postpartum mothers who experience back pain, resulting in a decrease in back pain in postpartum mothers.

Abstract

The progression of labor is influenced by three main factors: power, the birth canal, and the fetus. Additionally, studies indicate that the mother's position can enhance the labor process (Bonny, D. 2018). Labor begins with the onset of regular contractions, the expulsion of bloody mucus (known as the bloody show), and cervical dilation, marking the first stage of labor. This stage concludes when the cervix is fully dilated; it typically lasts around 13 hours for first-time mothers (with a latent phase of 7-8 hours and an active phase of 5-6 hours) and about 7 hours for those who have given birth before (with a latent phase of 4 hours and an active phase of 3 hours) (Hanifa, W. 2018).The study aimed to investigate the relationship between maternal positioning during the active phase of labor and the progression of labor at Awal Bros Panam Hospital in Pekanbaru. The study involved maternity patients in the active phase at the hospital, with a sample size of 30 participants selected through total sampling. Data collection utilized a partograph checklist. Univariate analysis revealed that 20% of respondents were under 20 or over 35 years old, while 80% were aged 20-35. Among the participants, 30% were first-time mothers (primigravidas) and 70% were experienced mothers (multigravidas). Out of the 30 respondents who adopted walking, squatting, or tilted positions, 17 (56.7%) experienced progress in labor, while 13 (43.3%) did not. Statistical analysis using the Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between maternal position during the active phase of labor and labor progression at Awal Bros Panam Hospital, Pekanbaru. The results suggest that maternal positioning plays a crucial role in labor progression. This research may serve as a valuable resource for enhancing midwifery services by providing information and counseling to mothers about effective positions before delivery.

Abstract

The physiological process of pregnancy occurs in women as a result of the fertilization of male and female sex cells. Pregnancy discomfort can occur at any time during the first, second, or third trimester of pregnancy. Back pain is a common discomfort that occurs in the first trimester of pregnancy. The increasing burden of the uterus, lifting heavy loads, bending over for long periods, and walking restlessly are the causes of these changes. In terms of non-pharmacological back pain relief, ginger compresses are one effective method. This study used a two-group pre-test-post-test research design using a quasi-experimental methodology. This study was conducted at the Winda Astuti Am.Keb Marelan V Pasar II Barat Midwife Clinic, Medan Marelan District in 2024. The number of research samples was 40 people. The Wilcoxon test was used in this study. At the Winda Astuti Am. Midwife Clinic. Marelan V Pasar II Barat Village, Medan Marelan District in 2024, a study was conducted on the effect of giving ginger compresses on reducing the intensity of back pain in pregnant women in the third trimester with a value of 0.000 <0.05, which means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.

Abstract

The Toddler is a golden period of growth and development, which is highly influenced by adequate nutritional intake. Nutritional problems sucs as underweight, wasting, and stunting remain serious public health concerns that effect child growth. These issues are still prevalent in Indonesia, including in Deli Serdang Regency. Deficiencies in macro and micro nutrients sucs as protein, iron, and zinc can lead to growth disorders, one of which is low body weight. This study aimed to analyze the effect of providing supplementary food (PMT) in the form of TEBELO Nuggets ( duck eggs and moringa leaf) on weight gain among toddlers aged 3 – 5 years at Klinik Pratama Kasih Ibi in Deli Tua Districk in 2025. The nuggets were made from duck eggs and moringa leaf flour. The method employed a quantitative approach using a Quasi-Experimental method with a Two group pretest – posttest design. A total sample og 30 toddlers was divided into two groups : 15 in the intervention group and 15 in the control group. The intervention was carried out in April 2025 for 14 days in the form of nuggets rich in protein duck egg and rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants from moringa leaves. Results from the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant difference p value = 0.000, (p value < 0,05 ), indicating that the average weight gain in the intervention group was about 0,7 kg ( from 12,04 kg to 12,74 kg ), while the control group only gained an average of 0,18 kg. These findings demonstrate that PMT with TEBELO nuggets has significant effect on increasing toddlers weight. This studiy highlights the potensial of using local-based PMT innovations to toddles malnutrition and recomends implementation through community-based program such us Ingrated Health service Post and Community Health Center.
