Abstract

Abstract Pregnancy is one of the most essential phases for women. The average normal pregnancy will last for 40 weeks or approximately 275 days. The time of pregnancy is divided into 3 trimesters, where each trimester lasts for 3 months. The first trimester lasts 12 weeks, the second trimester lasts 15 weeks and the third trimester lasts 13 weeks. Pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and newborns are physiological conditions that can turn into pathological conditions, so continuous and quality care is needed as well as carrying out regular prenatal checks during pregnancy. In implementing health efforts, mothers are family members who need to get priority. Efforts to improve maternal health receive special attention. It is important to monitor the health status and performance of maternal health efforts. This is because the maternal mortality rate is a sensitive indicator in describing the welfare of society in a country. This study aims to determine the effect of using Short Message Service (SMS) on adherence to antenatal care visits in pregnant women. This research is a quasi-experimental research in which there are interventions or treatments given to respondents. The sample in this study were 52 pregnant women who underwent pregnancy checks at the Mitra Ananda Maternity Hospital, which were divided into 2 treatment and control groups. The analysis was used to determine the effect of adherence to antenatal care visits in the intervention group and the control group using the Mc Nemar test. The results of the analysis show that the p value (0.001) is smaller than α (0.05) meaning that there is an effect of the use of SMS (Short Message Service) on compliance with antenatal care visits in pregnant women.

Abstract

Hemoglobin levels are one of the hematological parameters that undergo changes during pregnancy. During pregnancy, plasma volume increases by approximately 40-45%, starting progressively in weeks 6-8 of gestation and reaching its peak at weeks 32-34. Concurrently, renal erythropoietin stimulates the increase in red blood cell count by 20-30%. However, the increase in red blood cells is not proportional to the increase in plasma volume, leading to hemodilution and a decrease in hemoglobin levels. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, parity, and pregnancy interval with hemoglobin levels in third-trimester pregnant women. The sample in this study consisted of 40 respondents, all third-trimester pregnant women who attended prenatal visits between September and November 2023. The analysis method used in this study was Pearson correlation. There are three analyses in this study: first, the analysis of the relationship between age and hemoglobin levels showed a p-value of 0.026, which is less than α (0.05), indicating a significant relationship between age and hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. Second, the analysis of the relationship between parity and hemoglobin levels showed a p-value of 0.736, which is greater than α (0.05), meaning there is no relationship between parity and hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. Third, the analysis of the relationship between pregnancy interval and hemoglobin levels showed a p-value of 0.012, which is less than α (0.05), indicating a significant relationship between pregnancy interval and hemoglobin levels in pregnant women.

Abstract

Antenatal Care (ANC) merupakan suatu pelayanan yang diberikan oleh perawat kepada wanita selama hamil misalnya dengan pemantauan kesehatan secara fisik psikologis, termasuk dan perkembangan janin serta mempersiapkan proses persalinan dan kelahiran supaya ibu siap menghadapi peran baru sebagai orang tua. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran khususnya bagi ibu hamil yang ada di wilayah kerja TPMB Fauziah Hatta Kota Palembang agar mengetahui tentang pemanfaatan kunjungan ANC pada ibu hamil. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berlangsung selama 1 hari dilaksanakan dan diikuti oleh 25 orang ibu hamil dan telah dilakukan pada tanggal 15 Oktober 2024. Hasil yang di daparkan selama kegiatan ini berlangsung, dari jumlah ibu hamil yang melakukan kunjungan ANC sebanyak 25 ibu hamil, sebelum di berikan penyuluhan terdapat 20 ibu hamil yang pengetahuan kurang mengenai kunjungann ANC, setelah dilakukan penyuluhan terdapat 24 ibu hamil yang memahami mengenai pentingnya kunjungan ANC dan 1 orang yang belum paham karena sudah pulang sebelum selesai penyuluhan. Diharapkan dari kegiatan ini semua ibu hamil dapat patuh dalam melakukan kunjungan kehamilan sesuai dengan standar Antenatal Care, sehingga ibu hamil mengetahui bagaimana manfaat dari kunjungan ANC tersebut dan segera ke petugas kesehatan jika sudah dalam waktu kunjungan tiba.
