Abstract

Tiktok merupakan aplikasi audio visual yang sangat popular dan diminati di semua kalangan. Aplikasi TikTok menjadi platform media sosial yang cukup populer saat ini, khususnya di Indonesia. Menurut laporan “We Are Social” pada bulan oktober 2023 kepopuleran TikTok bisa dilihat dari jumlah penggunanya yang saat ini menempati posisi kedua terbesar setelah amerika serikat dengan jumlah 106,52 juta. Penggunaan aplikasi tiktok banyak dari kalanganan siswa, banyak siswa yang senang menggunakan aplikasi tiktok karena menurut mereka aplikasi ini dapat menghibur ketika mereka sedang merasa bosan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada dampak dari penggunaan aplikasi tiktok terhadap perilaku belajar siswa-siswi di SMP Negeri 2 Dobo. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik penggumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Dobo yang berjumlah 153 dan siswa-siswi yang dijadikan sampel sebanyak 60 orang yang dipilih menggunakan rumus slovin,. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear sederhana dengan menggunakan software IBM SPSS 27. Hasil dari uji regresi linear sederhana diperoleh nilai konstannya sebesar 43.725 yang menyatakan jika tidak ada nilai penggunaan aplikasi tiktok maka nilai perilaku belajar 43.725. Selanjutnya nilai posiif (1,010) yang terdapat pada variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat adalah searah, sehingga dapat disimpukan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi tiktok berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku belajar dan hasil uji koefisien determinasi (R2) ) atau R Square sebesar 0,334 yang artinya bahwa pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat adalah sebesar 33,4% dan 66,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak termasuk dalam penelitian ini

Abstract

Perkembangan fisiologi siswa pada jenjang umur akil-balik secara psikologis masih dihadapkan pada pencarian jati diri dan rentan pada perbuatan yang melanggar aturan sekolah dan menimbulkan banyak persoalan. Menghadapi kondisi seperti ini di butuhkan Guru Bimbingan Konseling yang dapat memainkan peran khusus ketika berhadapan dengan siswa yang bermasalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: untuk mengkaji dan mengetahui tentang pola komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif dalam bimbingan konseling antara guru dan siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 9 Ambon. Pengambilan informan secara purposive sampling yakni guru bimbingan konseling dan siswa dengan kriteria yang sedang atau pernah membuat masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Analisis data model interaktif dimana data direduksi, disajikan dan diverifikasi atau menarik kesimpulan yang terarah. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pola komunikasi interpersonal dalam bimbingan konseling antara guru dan siswa memperlihatkan lima aspek penting. Aspek keterbukaan memperlihatkan bahwa siswa yang bermasalah lebih banyak memilih berkata tidak jujur atau tidak terbuka. Akhirnya guru menerapkan teknik komunikasi persuasif dalam penyelesaian masalah siswa. Aspek empati memperlihatkan adanya rasa empati dan peduli yang tinggi dari guru bimbingan konseling terhadap permasalahan siswa. Aspek dukungan memperlihatkan guru bimbingan konseling memahami permasalahan siswa dan memberikan penguatan dan motivasi agar bisa keluar dari permasalahannya. Aspek sikap positif memperlihatkan bahwa sikap positif guru sangat mempengaruhi suasana interaksi dan komunikasi siswa. Aspek kesamaan atau kesetaraan memperlihatkan perlakuan guru terhadap siswa dilakukan sama. Kesimpulan pola komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif dalam bimbingan konseling antara guru dan siswa memperlihatkan lima aspek penting yakni keterbukaan, empati, dukungan, sikap positif dan kesetaraan/kesamaan sangat berperan dalam tercapainya efektifitas komunikasi antara guru Bimbingan Konseling dan siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Influence of Instagram Use on Fear of Missing Out Behavior (Study on Communication Science Students Class of 2018-2020 Pattimura University Ambon).This research is a quantitative research carried out at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Pattimura University, Ambon. Primary data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires to 100 Students of Communication Sciences, Pattimura University, Ambon, consisting of Students Class of 2018-2020. In this study, the sampling technique used was the Purposive Sampling technique and used data analysis techniques, namely simple regression analysis using SPSS (Statistical Product Service Solution) version 25 for windows.The results showed that the F value was 49.407, the R value was 0.579, the R square value was 0.335 with a significance value of 0.000 (p>0.01). This means that there is an influence of Instagram on fear of missing out behavior, which is 33.5% while 66.5% is influenced by other things outside the study. The empirical mean calculation value in the Instagram usage variable obtained a value of 39.8 is in the medium category and the fear of missing out behavior variable in the 30.2 value is in the medium category. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the hypothesis (H1) in this research is accepted. This means that there is an influence of the use of Instagram on the behavior of fear of missing out in Communication Science students class of 2018-2020 Pattimura University Ambon.

Abstract

This is a ‘Mix Method’ research that aims to determine the effect of the online game, PUBG Mobile, on the communicative behaviour of students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Pattimura University. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Pattimura University, Ambon. The data collection of the mixing method was performed guantitatively and qualitatively. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires and qualitative data was collected through interviews. The theories used for this research are Symbolic Interaction Theory, Computer-Mediated Communication Theory and McClellan’s Theory of Motivational Needs. The results showed that there was no effect of the X variable (PUBG Mobile Online Game) on the Y variable (Behaviour of communication), this can be seen in the results of quantitative data, namely the value of Sig.= 0,075 > 0,05 and count 1,810 < table 2,001 so that HO rejected Dan Ha accepted. The percentage of the R square value is only 5.3%. Quantitative data is also supported by qualitative data which confirms that there is no influence of online games on behaviour of communication.

Abstract

This article explores the foot-washing tradition (locally known as hobo kadan) as a form of cultural communication within the indigenous community of Leksula Village, Eastern Indonesia. The main objective of this study is to understand the symbolic meanings, social functions, and political relevance of the ritual as it relates to women preparing for marriage, and to assess its role in preserving local wisdom amid the socio-political dynamics of indigenous society. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, the research involved participant observation, in-depth interviews with traditional elders, community leaders, and ritual participants, as well as narrative analysis of the cultural practice. The findings reveal that hobo kadan is not merely a ceremonial ritual, but a symbolic act of social and spiritual transition—marking a woman’s passage from her former life into the ideals of married life. The tradition also reflects social legitimacy through the mutual agreement of two families, functioning as a form of public communication to signal that the marriage process will soon take place lawfully and transparently. In the political context of the indigenous community, this practice reinforces social cohesion, affirms traditional authority structures, and symbolizes resistance to the homogenization of external cultures. The novelty of this study lies in its articulation of hobo kadan as a cultural communication tool that actively contributes to the socio-political stability of indigenous communities. This study recommends formal recognition and protection of local cultural practices in development policy, and advocates for the integration of indigenous knowledge systems into the advancement of social and political sciences—particularly in the study of identity politics, symbolic culture, and political communication in indigenous contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the adaptive communication strategies employed by Harian Ambon Ekspres through a multiplatform journalism approach in response to the transformation of local media in the digital era. Utilizing a qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis focused on media convergence practices at Harian Ambon Ekspres. The findings reveal that the main strategies include content diversification through the production of radio podcasts, which are subsequently disseminated across both print and digital formats; the use of various digital media platforms to expand audience reach and engagement; and the integration of four key platforms: the Harian Ambon Ekspres print newspaper, E-Paper, Ambonterkini.id, and Ameks.fajar.co.id. Moreover, media convergence has proven effective in reducing production costs and strengthening the competitiveness of the media institution amid technological disruption. The novelty of this study lies in its revelation that convergence functions not only as a technological adaptation but also as a cultural communication strategy that enables local media to remain relevant to the evolving needs and preferences of the public. These findings contribute significantly to the fields of social and political sciences, particularly in media studies, communication, and digital cultural dynamics, and highlight the importance of enhancing the innovation capacity of local media in navigating an ever-changing communication landscape.

Abstract

This article analyzes the roles of families, schools, and village governments in preserving the Wemale language in West Seram Regency, Maluku, with a focus on the unequal contributions among actors and the social stigma attached to the use of local languages. It also examines how community-based programs such as the Community Learning Center (PKBM) serve as spaces for reconstructing local identity through the use of Wemale in informal and nonformal educational settings. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in villages with active Wemale-speaking communities. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns in language use, social perceptions, and preservation strategies by local actors. The findings reveal that families’ role in language transmission has weakened due to modernization, digital influences, and stigma associating the Wemale language with backwardness. In contrast, schools and PKBM demonstrate more active engagement, particularly through alternative learning spaces such as Walang Belajar, which utilize contextual approaches to connect youth with the local language. However, actor coordination remains weak and affirmative policies supporting Wemale as a source of collective identity are absent. This study offers a novel intersection of language, social stigma, and identity politics in Eastern Indonesia while highlighting PKBM’s strategic role in minority language preservation.
