Abstract

Bullying incidents involving adolescents are commonplace globally, and this persistent problem remains serious. Previous research has shown a correlation between self-concept and an individual's level of conformity; however, the correlation between self-concept, conformity, and bullying behavior needs further consideration. Thus, the purpose of this research is to investigate, using empirical methods, if bullying behavior, conformity, and self-concept are related. This research employs a quantitative research method using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. Data collection method utilized was the Likert scale. The subjects of this study were adolescents aged 12-22 years with a sample size of 150 participants. Using SPSS 25 and JASP 0.17.0.0 software, bivariate Pearson correlation tests were used to evaluate the data collected. Self-concept was examined in this study using the Self-Description Questionnaire III (SDQIII), which was translated into Indonesian. A questionnaire based on Baron and Byrne's conformity scale was used to measure conformity. The Bullying Scale, which Doğruer actually designed, was used to measure bullying behavior. There was no apparent correlation between conformity to bullying behavior and self-concept, according to the data processing results. These results suggest that more research is necessary because there is not enough data to support correlations or differences between the variables under research.

Abstract

Suicidal ideation refers to thoughts about planning and behaviors that can lead to actual and fatal suicide attempts. This research aims to examine whether there is a relationship between resilience and well-being and suicidal ideation. The study is a quantitative correlational study conducted among adolescents in Jakarta. The participants of this study numbered 139, obtained through incidental sampling techniques. The measurement tools used in this study are the Brief Resilience Scale, the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and the Indonesian version of the Suicide Ideation Scale (R-SIS). Correlation analysis results show that resilience and well-being are jointly related to suicidal intention (p0.01). The study found a moderate relationship between resilience and subjective well-being simultaneously with suicidal ideation. The simultaneous contribution of these two variables to suicidal ideation is 19.6% (R = 0.442a, R² = 0.196, p = 0.000).

Abstract

Depression is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, including in Indonesia. It is a mood disorder characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities, and various physical and cognitive symptoms that impair an individual's functioning. Early adulthood is a vulnerable developmental period, as individuals often face significant social, academic, and professional pressures that, if unmanaged, may lead to complex psychological issues. When untreated, depression during this stage can escalate into more serious conditions, such as suicidal ideation or attempts. The emergence of suicidal ideation is often driven by psychological distress, both emotional and physical. Contributing factors include limited access to psychological support, social stigma surrounding mental health, and a lack of awareness about the symptoms of depression. These issues often lead to many cases of depression and suicidal ideation going undetected or untreated. However, previous studies have shown that attachment to life can act as a protective factor, reducing the risk of suicide. This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of young adults in Indonesia who are living with depression and have had suicidal ideation or attempts. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with participants aged 20–30 who met the criteria for depression and had a history of suicidal ideation or attempts. Thematic analysis was employed to identify core themes related to their emotional experiences, coping mechanisms, and meaning-making processes. This research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the lived experiences of depression and suicidality in early adulthood within the Indonesian cultural context, and to contribute to more culturally sensitive mental health interventions.

Abstract

Industry is the root of the economy in a country. The study of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work discipline is critical to understanding their impact on individual well-being and workplace productivity. Job satisfaction refers to the level of happiness felt by employees towards their work, organizational commitment involves full dedication to the organization, and work discipline includes focus, regularity, and motivation in performing tasks. Understanding these factors can help organizations support employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance and improving work performance. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used in this study is to use a Likert scale model. Based on this research, it is found that job satisfaction and organizational commitment have a significant correlation with work discipline in employees at Banshu Electric Indonesia. Overall, the results of this study can provide a prediction of employee discipline at Banshu Electric Indonesia which is quite large at 63.9%, while the remaining 36.1% is influenced by other factors not examined. For this reason, further research needs to be carried out to see other variables that are thought to have an effect in addition to the variables studied, such as exemplary leadership in the company, the size of compensation, threats, and definite rules from the company.
