Abstract

Tourism conditions for renewable energy in the new coastal tourism area so far have not maximally attracted tourists and the region has not supported tourism activities. This can be seen from the imbalance in the increase of coastal tourists with renewable energy, which should get attention because it is a benchmark of the mismatch between demand and the availability or availability of existing fields. This study aims to determine the handling of tourism areas for renewable energy that are in accordance with the wishes of tourists, with the aim of tourism studies, supply-demand, and drawing conclusions and recommendations for handling tourism. The approach uses the Quantitative - Two Steps Questionnare method, with the research instrument in the form of a questionnaire through two stages. The result is a discrepancy between supply and demand for infrastructure. Then it needs to be improved so that the tourist area continues. There is a demand for 6 amenities (gates, parking lots, toilets, lodgings, restaurants, souvenir shops) and the development of promotional information by managers within the coastal area through social media. Assessment of supply-demand, namely medium-importance (attractions, accessibility, promotional information), medium-is very important for amentias. The average value is the condition of moderate supply, meaning that it needs improvement because demand says the availability of the field is important to continue the potential of renewable energy as a tourist attraction. Environmental aspects that are very influential in sustainability, if the environment is good then the socio-culture improves and the economy increases.

Abstract

Urban land policy and management in Indonesia are very weak; some problems can be identified i.e. problems in land tenure system, land registration systems, land delivery and acquisition, land use planning, land taxes, and land ceiling. At the same lime, the process of urbanization and urban growth are increasing and the problem of urban land is getting more complex and capable of creating conflicts. Considering the importance of the efficient use of land and its equal distribution for a sustainable development, this paper argues that reformation in land policy and management in Indonesia is needed both at the level of policy guidelines and at the level of implementation.

Abstract

Yogyakarta Province until 2014 has built a total of 10 (ten) micro hydropower plants (MHP). However, from these ten MHPs, there is only 1 (one) which is still in operation, namely Kedungrong MHP. This Kedungrong MHP was selected as the research area due to its success in managing the MHP so that the electricity generated can be used by its local residents until now. Based on this best practice, the other MHPs which are still under construction or that have ‘stalled’ should learn from Kedungrong MHP to be able to reoperate so that they will be sustainable. This research employed mixed methods, between the quantitative research method and the qualitative research method. First, the data were collected using surveys, interviews and observation and then the model of the management system that Kedungrong MHP applies was described and evaluated. The findings of the research suggest that a sustainable MHP integrates three aspects, namely technical and environmental, social as well as economic aspects. The technical aspects deals with civil, mechanical and electrical components at the stages of planning, developing to operation and maintenance. The social aspects look carefully at community participation at the stages of planning, developing to operation and maintenance. Finally, the economic aspects pay attention to sources and forms of financing at the investment stage, the operation stage and the maintenance stage. In relation to the MHP scale, of those three aspects, the one that has the most significant impact on the sustainability of the MHP is the social aspects.

Karangasem City is one of the heritage cities of Karangasem Kingdom in Bali which has a typical spatial layout and society life. The society of Karangasem City is divided into several classes based on the catur wangsa (social group) which is presumed affecting the realization of spatial layout of Karangasem City physically. It is interesting to conduct a deeper investigation on it to identify the effect of the system, so that it can be used as an input to manage and develop Karangasem City in the future. In investigating the effect, the method used in this study is qualitative method with inductive-qualitative technique and three data collection techniques, they are field observation, in-depth interview with purposive sampling, and literature study. Based on the results of the study, it is understood that the catur wangsa system took part in affecting the spatial layout of Karangasem City in which divided the city area into three layers of concentric circles according to the level of social classes that inhibits each of the layers. It also shows the suitability of Karangasem City spatial layout with the tri mandala (three spaces) concept which divides the area of Karangasem City into three layers.

Kampung Ngampilan Yogyakarta was taken as the case, because it has high density and specific geographical condition due to its location on the river bank. As a result, it is found that with limited environmental conditions, the children interaction space in Kampung Ngampilan Yogyakarta is formed organically or unplanned. The spaces can be grouped into three kinds of categories, namely based on the degree of enclosureness, degree of fixation of space elements and the degree of naturaleness of space elements. This finding can be used  as  reference in kampung  development which is more conducive as place for children interaction activities.
