Abstract

The research addresses the limited availability of learning media supporting education for children with special needs, particularly intellectually disabled students. The study aimed to develop Smart Box media and evaluate its effectiveness in enhancing the learning of Indonesian and Science subjects for these children. Following the ADDIE model, the research employed a research and development (R&D) approach. Data collection included observation sheets, interview sheets, expert evaluations, and student questionnaire surveys. Media expert validation resulted in 83% validity, categorized as very valid, while content expert validation yielded 79%, categorized as valid. Student responses to the trial questionnaire indicated an 88% feasibility rating. The media's effectiveness in supporting learning was evidenced by pretest and posttest scores, which increased from an average of 58 to 86 after its use. In conclusion, the Smart Box media is deemed feasible, engaging, and effective for intellectually disabled students. This research contributes to the advancement of learning media for special needs education, providing a valuable resource for educators and stakeholders in enhancing the learning experience for these students.

Abstract

Abstract. Teguhan is a village located in Jiwan, Madiun Regency, East Java. Teguhan Village has abundant natural potential with a population that is not too dense so that there are still many houses with fairly large yards. This fairly wide yard is not matched by its use, where many people's yards in Teguhan village are still neglected. This condition occurs because of the lack of skills and knowledge of residents about the benefits of the yard if used properly. This community service program is carried out with the aim of empowering PKK women in Teguhan Village in utilizing yard land with productive and useful plants for families. Through community empowerment programs, especially PKK women. The research method was carried out through several stages, namely coordination with PKK administrators, socialization to the community through counseling and discussion, implementation in the field which included yard management practices, mentoring, to monitoring and evaluation, with participants from the management and PKK members consisting of hamlet residents. IV. After the counseling and implementation was carried out a post test was carried out with the results, participants who knew and understood about the use of home yard land increased dramatically to 16 people (88.89%) which previously in the pre test only 3 people (16.67%), only 1 person (5 ,56%) who did not know previously in the pre test as many as 13 people (72.22%) and only 1 person (5.56%) hesitated in answering the previous one in the pre test as many as 2 people (11.11% ). This shows that counseling dan implementation on the use of home yard land can increase knowledge and understanding or can be said to be effective. The conclusion of this community service activity is that if the land is managed it will provide an attractive and healthy environmental value as well as benefits in utilizing the land. Land can also be used as an economic and ecological carrying capacityAbstrak. Desa Teguhan merupakan desa yang terletak di Jiwan, Kabupaten Madiun, Jawa Timur. Desa Teguhan memiliki potensi alam yang melimpah dengan jumlah penduduk yang tidak terlalu padat sehingga masih banyak dijumpai rumah-rumah dengan pekarangan yang cukup luas. Pekarangan yang cukup luas ini tidak diimbangi dengan pemanfaatannya, dimana pekarangan warga di desa Teguhan masih banyak yang terbengkalai. Kondisi ini terjadi karena kurangnya keterampilan dan pengetahuan warga akan manfaat dari pekarangan rumah jika dimanfaatkan dengan baik. Program pengabdian kepada warga ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk memberdayakan ibu-ibu PKK Desa Teguhan dalam memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan dengan tanaman yang produktif dan bermanfaat untuk keluarga.melalui progarm pemberdayaan warga khususnya Ibu PKK. Metode Penelitan yang dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan yang dilakukan yaitu koordinasi dengan pengurus PKK, sosialisasi kepada warga melalui penyuluhan dan diskusi, implementasi di lapangan yang meliputi praktek pengelolaan pekarangan, pendampingan, sampai monitoring dan evaluasi, dengan peserta pengurus dan anggota PKK yang terdiri dari 18 warga dusun IV Teguhan. Setelah dilakukan penyuluhan dan praktek pengolahan lahan pekarangan dilakukan post test dengan hasil, peserta yang mengetahui dan terampil memanfaatan lahan pekarangan rumah meningkat drastis menjadi 16 orang (88,89%) yang sebelumnya pada pre test hanya 3 orang (16,67%) , hanya 1 orang (5,56%) yang tidak tahu yang sebelumnya pada pre test sebanyak 13 oarng (72,22%), dan hanya 1 orang (5,56%) ragu-ragu dalam menjawab yang sebelumnya pada pre test sebanyak 2 orang (11,11%). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan dan pelatihan pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan rumah dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan warga atau dapat dikatakan kegiatan ini sangat efektif. Simpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian warga ini adalah jika lahan dikelola akan memberikan nilai lingkungan yang menarik dan sehat serta keuntungan dalam memanfaatkaan lahan. Lahan juga dapat digunakan sebagai daya dukung ekonomi dan ekologi.Kata Kunci: Pemanfaatan, Lahan, Pekarangan Rumah

Abstract

The recent phenomenon is that on every inch of empty sidewalk, in front of shops, in front of schools, and on the side of the road there must be sellers of sweet drinks, especially jumbo tea. Excessive sweet drinks can increase the risk of diseases caused by excess sugar such as diabetes and obesity. The purpose of this community service activity (PkM) is to increase the knowledge of Teguhan Village health cadres regarding the dangers of obesity, diabetes, and the benefits of stevia. The community service methods used include counseling about the dangers of diabetes, obesity, stevia plant cultivation, and joint practice in planting and processing stevia plants until ready for consumption. This PKM activity resulted in an increase in knowledge among cadres by 63%. The percentage of knowledge before being given counseling regarding obesity, diabetes, and stevia was only an average of 28% and after the PKM activity ended, the average knowledge of cadres increased to 91%. These results are expected to reduce the use of cane sugar switch to stevia sugar and spread their knowledge to the surrounding community so that more people know about the benefits of stevia plants.

Abstract

Abstrak: Media pembelajaran yang mampu menunjang pembelajaran bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah masih sangat kurang. penelitian ini dengan tujuan menghasilkan media pembelajaran bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus berupa media Smart Box dan mengetahui kelayakannya agar dapat digunakan oleh anak berkebutuhan khusus terutama anak yang masuk kategori tuna grahita dalam belajar materi Bahasa Indonesia dan IPA dengan lebih efektif dan menarik. Metode penelitian yang dipilih adalah pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE dengan lima tahapan Analysis, Design, Development, Implementasi, Evaluasi dengan jenis penelitian research & development (RnD) dengan instrument penelitian lembar observasi, lembar wawancara, lembar angket ahli media dan materi, dan angket kuisioner untuk siswa. Hasil uji validitas ahli media menunjukan presentase sebesar 83% dengan kategori sangat layak dan validitas ahli materi dengan presentase sebesar 79% dengan kategori layak. Daya tarik media dapat dilihat dari angket uji coba yang di jawab oleh siswa dengan hasil presentase sebesar 88% dengan kategori sangat layak. Keefektifan media dalam menunjang pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari hasil rata-rata pretest sebesar 58 setelah menggunakan media didapat hasil posttest sebesar 86. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media smart box dikatakan layak, menarik dan efektif digunakan oleh siswa tuna grahita.Abstract: There is still a lack of learning media that is able to support learning for children with special needs at school. Therefore, this research was carried out with the aim of producing learning media for children with special needs in the form of Smart Box media and knowing its feasibility so that it can be used by children with special needs, especially children who fall into the mentally retarded category in learning Indonesian language and science material more effectively and attractively. The type of research used is development using the ADDIE model with five stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation with research & development (RnD) types with observation sheet research instruments, interview sheets, media and material expert questionnaire sheets, and questionnaire questionnaires for students. The results of the media expert validity test showed a percentage of 83% in the very feasible category and the validity of the material expert with a percentage of 79% in the feasible category. The effectiveness and attractiveness of the media can be seen from the trial questionnaire which was answered by students with a percentage of 88% in the very decent category. The effectiveness of the media in supporting learning can be seen from the pretest results of 64% after using the media the posttest results obtained by 87%. It can be concluded that smart box media is said to be feasible, interesting and effective for use by students with intellectual disabilities.
