Abstract

This study examines Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises' (UMKM) perceptions of online loans, employing a descriptive qualitative approach. The research draws upon theoretical frameworks surrounding perception and financial behavior to analyze how UMKM players perceive online loans for business development. Findings indicate that while UMKM players perceive online loans as additional capital facilitating business expansion, there exists a gap in their comprehension of associated risks, notably concerning high-interest rates and over-indebtedness. Consequently, the study emphasizes the critical role of financial education in mitigating these risks effectively. By elucidating the theoretical underpinnings guiding the analysis, this research offers valuable insights into UMKM perceptions of online loans and underscores the importance of educational interventions in enhancing their financial literacy and risk management capabilities. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing a nuanced understanding of UMKM attitudes towards online loans and advocating for comprehensive educational strategies to empower UMKM in navigating the complexities of financial decision-making.

Abstract

The implementation of financial technology (fintech) at Bank Syariah Indonesia KCP Bitung has significantly impacted financial inclusion, particularly through the BSI Mobile application. This study examines how fintech has enhanced accessibility to Islamic financial services, especially for individuals previously underserved by conventional banking systems. The findings reveal that fintech has not only expedited financial transactions but also provided customers with easier access to a variety of financial features, thereby improving their financial management capabilities. Interviews with bank staff and customers indicated that fintech solutions like BSI Mobile offer convenience, efficiency, and flexibility in the digital era. However, the research also identifies challenges, including the need for adequate infrastructure, intensive education and socialization regarding fintech usage, and potential security risks in digital transactions. To address these challenges, it is crucial for Islamic banks to foster innovation and collaboration with fintech providers to offer more inclusive and affordable solutions, thus broadening the reach of Islamic financial services. The emphasis on ongoing innovation and collaboration is key to integrating technology with Islamic finance, creating a more inclusive, transparent, and sustainable financial ecosystem that supports equitable economic growth within society.

Abstract

The determination of the age limit for marriage in the Marriage Law is controversial in Indonesian society. This paper aims to analyze the response of public acceptance of the new regulation on the age limit for marriage according to marriage law in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative method with a grounded theory approach. The data were got through observation, interviews with informants, and documentation, which were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results showed three forms of public acceptance of the new regulation on marriage’s age limit: dominant hegemony, negotiation, and oppositional reception. The diversity of public acceptance of the age limit for marriage according to the law is influenced by differences in the level of public education, community culture, and public understanding of the validity of the marriage. Developing a more intensive study by comparing various perspectives is necessary. Involvement of the public, government, and judicial institutions representing each region in Indonesia, including the islands of Java, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan, is very much needed in disseminating marriage law in Indonesia.
