Abstract

This study aims to develop strategies for family economic empowerment in Gangga II Village by integrating the perspective of Maqashid Shariah to enhance material, spiritual, and social well-being. Gangga II Village possesses significant economic potential in the fisheries and agribusiness sectors but faces considerable challenges, including limited infrastructure, low access to skills education, and dependency on the fisheries sector. Using a qualitative approach, this study analyzes local economic potential and empowerment strategies based on skills training, financial literacy, and strengthening community collaboration through women’s groups (PKK) and village-owned enterprises (BumDes). In the framework of Maqashid Shariah, economic empowerment not only aims for material well-being but also seeks to balance worldly and spiritual aspects and reinforce social solidarity within families and communities. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of empowerment concepts grounded in Islamic values and enrich international literature on the application of Maqashid Shariah in village community economic empowerment. This research offers a more holistic empowerment concept to sustainably improve village community economies, particularly in Gangga II Village.

Abstract

This study describes the phenomenon of religious education that is felt by children after the child’s parents’ divorce. We conducted this research in Manado City. The researcher identified the children’s personality and how the child’s religious personality (morals) was. Researchers also conducted interviews with religious teachers and recitation teachers to understand the process of accepting religious teachings of these children. We analyzed subsequent studies through reduction, assessment, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained are that children do not get a good education, lack of motivation, enthusiasm for learning, decreased comprehension, do not try himself, are not disciplined. And the impact of divorce on children’s religious education is that children are lazy to recite the Koran, lazy to pray, polite to others and lazy to perform other obligatory worship. In Islam, parents are the first educators for children. Both from the mother’s and father’s sides. Each has a portion. A husband as well as a father has a big duty and responsibility, namely to prohibit good values for the child and for the wife, understand them, advise them and give love. As much as possible, maintain a husband-and-wife relationship so that it remains harmonious and away from conflict so that divorce does not occur. Because cases of divorce of parents greatly impact the physical, psychological and religious education of children.

Abstract

Divorce often has a major impact, especially for women who do not have their own income and are financially dependent on their partners. This study aims to examine the extent to which Islamic family law in Indonesia provides protection for women who do not work after divorce. With a qualitative approach and analysis of legal documents, this study explores issues such as maintenance, the division of common property, and child custody. The study also compared the protections available in Indonesia with international standards and practices in other Muslim countries. The results of the study show that although Islamic family law in Indonesia has regulated certain protections, its implementation in the field still faces many obstacles. Women who do not work often have difficulty obtaining alimony or a fair distribution of property, especially when ex-husbands do not fulfill their obligations. In addition, there is inequality in the distribution of assets and weak legal protection for certain cases. This research highlights the importance of legal reform to strengthen enforcement mechanisms, provide legal education to women, and ensure better access to justice. With the right reforms, it is hoped that the family law system in Indonesia can be more responsive to women's needs, create true justice, and improve their welfare after divorce.

Abstract

In the evolving landscape of global economics, the significant role of women in the informal economy, particularly housewives, remains underexplored. This study examines the gender dynamics and economic contributions of housewives in the informal economy, focusing on the context of Islamic values and multicultural societies in Poigar Village. Using a qualitative approach, this research delves into how housewives balance domestic responsibilities and economic activities, particularly through cake sales, to enhance family well-being. Key findings highlight the motivations driving housewives to engage in informal economic activities, such as economic necessity, skill utilization, and the pursuit of financial independence. Additionally, these activities are shown to significantly improve family income, enhance financial stability, and foster social recognition. From an Islamic perspective, these efforts align with principles of family cooperation, economic empowerment, and spiritual reward. The study underscores the importance of policies that support women in informal economies, such as access to capital, skill training, and social acknowledgment of their contributions. Future research should explore broader and more diverse samples to generalize findings and examine the long-term impacts of women's economic participation in similar contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

The determination of the age limit for marriage in the Marriage Law is controversial in Indonesian society. This paper aims to analyze the response of public acceptance of the new regulation on the age limit for marriage according to marriage law in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative method with a grounded theory approach. The data were got through observation, interviews with informants, and documentation, which were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results showed three forms of public acceptance of the new regulation on marriage’s age limit: dominant hegemony, negotiation, and oppositional reception. The diversity of public acceptance of the age limit for marriage according to the law is influenced by differences in the level of public education, community culture, and public understanding of the validity of the marriage. Developing a more intensive study by comparing various perspectives is necessary. Involvement of the public, government, and judicial institutions representing each region in Indonesia, including the islands of Java, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan, is very much needed in disseminating marriage law in Indonesia.
