Abstract

Penggembalaan remaja generasi Z oleh gereja merupakan suatu panggilan yang mulia karena remaja adalah masa depan gereja. Namun dalam pelaksanaannya terkadang gereja tidak memperhatikan kualitas pembimbing dan karakteristik generasi Z yang jauh berbeda dengan generasi sebelumnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pemahaman dan penerapan prinsip-prinsip penggembalaan menurut surat 1 Petrus 5:1-4 dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembimbing remaja generasi Z. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode metode eksegesa teks, studi literatur dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian yaitu ada kekeliruan pemahaman pembimbing remaja tentang tentang prinsip ‘jangan dengan paksa’. Sedangkan dalam penerapannya pembimbing masih mengalami hambatan karena kurangnya pemahaman tentang karakteristik remaja generasi Z. Perlu upaya peningkatan kualitas pembimbing dengan melakukan ‘4C for Gen-Z’ yaitu Character Building, Capacity Building, Community Based, Creativity Based’. Upaya ini sangat tepat untuk diterapkan oleh pembimbing remaja generasi Z di manapun berada. The shepherding of generation Z teenagers by the church is a noble calling because teenagers are the future of the church. However, in its implementation, sometimes the church does not pay attention to the quality of mentors and the characteristics of generation Z which are very different from the previous generation. The purpose of this study is to explain the understanding and application of the principles of shepherding according to 1 Peter 5: 1-4 in improving the quality of mentors of generation Z teenagers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with text exegesis methods, literature studies and interviews. The results of the study are that there is a misunderstanding of the teenager mentors about the principle of 'do not force'. While in its application, mentors still experience obstacles due to a lack of understanding of the characteristics of generation Z teenagers. Efforts are needed to improve the quality of mentors by carrying out '4C for Gen-Z', namely Character building, Capacity building, Community based, Creativity based'. This effort is very appropriate to be applied by mentors of generation Z teenagers wherever they are.
