Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify misconceptions using the certainty of response in undergraduate students through a case study of mathematical chemistry subject by experimental demonstration of adsorption. The concept of mathematical chemistry was conveyed to students by using an explanation video. The video also directs students to do practical experiments on adsorption. The data obtained can be used to determine the isotherm adsorption model that fits with their experimental phenomena. Students analyze the data obtained by using their understanding of the mathematical chemistry concepts that have been taught. Misconceptions on students were analyzed using pretest-posttest by giving 20 questions followed by the guess level (CRI). Based on the answers given, students' understanding of the concepts being taught can be identified as understanding the concept, lucky guess, do not understand the concept, and misconceptions. This research can be used as a reference to identify misconceptions in students and can be applied in various subjects.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the use of catalysts on the performance of brake pads. The performance testing is compressive strength and puncture strength. The resin is formed from a mixture of Bisphenol A-epichlorohydrin and cycloaliphatic amine. Based on the results of the study, it was found that brake pads with samples B and C had better performance. The hardness values of samples A, B, and C are 307.4; 331.1; and 334.3 N, respectively. The ratio of resin and catalyst mixture affects the performance of the brake pad. The more catalysts added, the faster the hardening process. It is hoped that this research can be the basis for developing brake pads.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of video practicum guides on distance learning in improving biology learning outcomes on enzymes. This research was conducted with the stages of problem identification, planning, action (cycles I-III), observation, and reflection. All stages of learning were carried out in distance learning (online). The research was conducted on 35 students at a high school in Bandung. The assessment instrument in this study consisted of observation sheets and students' cognitive tests at the end of the cycle. The results of observations and cognitive tests of students showed that the average score for the biological value of the enzyme material had increased. There was a significant increase in each cycle, showing the success of the learning strategy by listening to video practicum. Student learning outcomes were also influenced by the teacher management in carrying out the online learning process. This research was expected to provide new information regarding the use of video media in distance learning.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the production of occupational health safety (OHS) videos in microbiology laboratories. The procedure used is "ANKER", which is an acronym for work analysis and reconstruction from making OHS videos used in workshop activities to increase work awareness in the microbiology laboratory. The OHS video analysis score using the VEE diagram obtained 38 points on a scale of 100. The work procedure was carried out by testing the OHS video with 37 workshop participants. On the basis of obtaining the scores above, video reconstruction needs to be carried out which includes adding Focus Questions, clarifying knowledge claims, adding data recording processes and activities. The results of interviews with respondents showed an incompatibility between the music and the storyline so that the background music in the video needed to be replaced. After the reconstruction process using the VEE diagram, a score of 94 points on a scale of 100 was obtained. Thus, the use of the "ANKER" procedure using the VEE diagram can be used to increase awareness of working in a microbiology laboratory. Respondents were of the opinion that K3 information via video was very helpful in increasing awareness of working in the laboratory. Submission of information about K3 must be carried out before carrying out laboratory activities and after carrying out laboratory activities as part of the practical evaluation
