Abstract

Poverty is a severe issue for local governments, particularly in Bali. This study aims to investigate factors influencing the regional poverty rate in Bali Province between 2016 and 2020. In the primary data obtained from BPS Bali Province, spatial regression data approaches and analyses were used. The findings show that housing, access to technology, and availability of natural resources affect poverty rates. The poverty line in Bali in the period 2016–2020 fluctuated significantly. Urban and rural poverty levels are affected by the availability of rice. At the same time, non-food commodities are higher in rural areas regarding housing, religious ceremonies, and customs. The contribution of the food poverty line to the urban poverty line was 68.76% less than the contribution of the food poverty line to the rural poverty line, which was 69.74%. From 2016 to 2020, the districts of Buleleng, Karangasem, Klungkung, and Tabanan each had the highest poverty depth index. The poverty depth index in urban areas reached 0.653, and in rural areas, 0.753. The severity index for urban poverty is 0.154, which is lower than the severity index for rural poverty, which is 0.156.

Abstract

While financial independence and regional economic growth have been recognized as key factors in public sector success, there is limited understanding of the specific dynamics in Bali Province, especially during the pandemic period of 2019-2021. This knowledge gap hinders an accurate evaluation of regional financial capability and independence, as well as their impact on Bali's economic growth. Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the impact of regional financial capacity and independence on economic growth in Bali during 2019-2021. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, using multiple linear regression analysis at a 95% confidence level (p<0.05). The results showed that both regional financial capacity and independence had a significant effect on economic growth in Bali. The analysis indicates that the regional financial independence ratio during 2019-2021 was low, showing an instructive relationship pattern. Meanwhile, the regional financial capacity ratio, though relatively limited, showed a positive relationship pattern. Additionally, fiscal decentralization and economic growth were found to negatively affect Bali’s poverty rate from 2003 to 2011. Overall, regional financial capacity and independence were shown to have a significant impact on the region’s economic growth. Further research is needed to explore the predisposing factors that affect economic growth, both external and internal

Abstract

Abstract

Unemployment is a social problem that hinders economic growth, including in Bali Province. A high unemployment rate has implications for low-income regions. This study aims to analyze the determinants that affect Bali's unemployment rate via projected population indicators, average length of schooling, and life expectancy. The quantitative method was used to examine secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency. The data were analyzed via multiple linear regression. The results show that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the increase in population projections, average length of schooling, and life expectancy directly affected the unemployment rate, with an effect size of 89.3%. Furthermore, simultaneous testing revealed an impact between these three indicators and the unemployment rate in Bali during 2020, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a probability of 0.000. In contrast to the partial results, we found that the unemployment rate was affected only by an increase in the projected population. In contrast, the average length of schooling and life expectancy did not have a direct influence. Thus, the unemployment rate in Bali can be lowered via relevant indicators that local governments and policymakers can evaluate. The synergy of other indicators must be applied to further identify determinants.

Abstract

This project aims to investigate Blue Economy-Based Economic Development within Bali's tourism sector. This study employs a systematic review design, specifically a literature review that evaluates high-quality journals filtered by inclusion criteria, employing databases such as Google Scholar, Science Direct, and ResearchGate for its research. A search of papers from 2017 to 2024 yielded 142 results pertaining to the phrase "Blue Economy" in relation to Bali Tourism, which were categorized into 20 journals based on thematic relevance and subsequently examined. The study's findings indicate that Blue Economy-oriented economic development in Bali's tourism industry provides a sustainable method for utilizing marine resources to enhance economic welfare while preserving the environment. This strategy improves the tourism industry by incorporating efficiency, innovation, and sustainability via marine ecotourism, marine conservation, renewable energy, and circular economy practices within the marine sector.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of education, credit access, and entrepreneurship on the level of community welfare in Buleleng Regency. The research seeks to provide evidence-based recommendations for more effective regional development policies. A quantitative associative approach was employed using primary data collected through questionnaires and secondary data from relevant institutions. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and SmartPLS software, involving validity and reliability tests, structural model evaluation, and hypothesis testing. Significance was assessed using t-statistics (>1.96) and p-values (<0.05). The results reveal that both education and entrepreneurship have a significant positive effect on community welfare, with entrepreneurship emerging as the most influential factor. In contrast, access to credit was found to have a negative effect, indicating the need for improved financial literacy and credit management among the population. This study contributes to the limited body of literature that simultaneously examines education, credit access, and entrepreneurship in relation to community welfare in rural areas. It offers a comprehensive framework for policymakers to integrate educational development, entrepreneurial support, and prudent credit governance to enhance sustainable socio-economic outcomes
