Abstract

The results of the on-the-ground research revealed that undergraduate students of PGPAUD UPBJJ UT Semarang enrolled in Bahasa Inggris course (PAUD4105) had problems, as evidenced by the course's poor semester test scores, which averaged under 60. Additionally, according to the English tutors, UPBJJ UT Semarang students had significant problems mastering English expressions. They had a very limited understanding of English expressions. As a result, it was necessary to make an effort to overcome this, specifically by establishing relevant, enjoyable, and effective media. This research examined whether game-based learning, Kahoot! could increase students' English expression mastery. The participants in this research were sixth-semester (6) PGPAUD undergraduate research program students at Patebon Pokjar Kendal in the academic year 2019/2020.2. This research was classroom action research with two cycles, a pre-test, and two post-tests. Planning, acting, observing, and reflecting were the four stages of each cycle. Descriptive statistics were used in this investigation. According to the research's findings, the mean pre-test score was 45.95, the average post-test score 1 was 73.35, and the average post-test score 2 was 85.59. In other words, the average score increased by 27.40 points from the pre-test to post-test 1 (from 45.95 to 73.35). Additionally, there was an increase of 12.24 points in the average score from post-test 1 to post-test 2 (from 73.35 to 85.59). Therefore, it could be said that S1 PGPAUD UPBJJ UT Semarang students' mastery of English expressions could be improved by using digital game-based learning, Kahoot!

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                            Kasus kenakalan remaja di Indonesia terus meningkat setiap tahun dan banyak terjadi pada kelompok usia 13-17 tahun. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya intervensi pendidikan yang berfokus pada pencegahan melalui penguatan kesadaran, karakter, dan lingkungan sosial remaja. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi preventif kepada remaja putri anggota Klub Bola Voli GAVO Kota Salatiga agar mampu memahami risiko kenakalan remaja dan mengembangkan sikap serta keterampilan positif untuk menghindari perilaku menyimpang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama delapan sesi melalui metode sosialisasi, penyuluhan, diskusi interaktif, studi kasus, pelatihan keterampilan hidup, dan latihan olahraga bersama. Evaluasi dilaksanakan melalui angket respons peserta. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terkait bahaya NAPZA, kesehatan reproduksi, HIV/AIDS, kesetaraan gender, dan strategi komunikasi efektif. Selain itu, peserta meunjukkan motivasi lebih tinggi dalam mengembangkan perilaku positif dan keterampilan hidup termasuk keterampilan kewirausahaan melalui pembuatan drum stick. Secara keseluruhan, skor evaluasi peserta mencapai rata-rata 3,56 yang berada pada kategori sangat baik. Kegiatan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan sikap remaja dalam mencegah perilaku menyimpang. Kata kunci: Kenakalan Remaja; Pendidikan Karakter; Remaja Putri; Sosialisasi. ABSTRACTThe cases of juvenile delinquency in Indonesia continue to increase annually, with many occurring in the 13-17 age group. This situation demonstrates the need for educational interventions focused on prevention through strengthening adolescent awareness, character, and social environments. This community service program aims to provide preventative education to female members of the GAVO Volleyball Club in Salatiga City so they can understand the risks of juvenile delinquency and develop positive attitudes and skills to avoid deviant behavior. The activity was carried out over eight sessions through socialization, counseling, interactive discussions, case studies, life skills training, and joint sports training. Evaluation was carried out through participant response questionnaires. The results of the community service program showed an increase in participants' understanding of the dangers of drugs, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, gender equality, and effective communication strategies. In addition, participants demonstrated higher motivation in developing positive behaviors and life skills, including entrepreneurial skills through drumstick making. Overall, the participant evaluation score reached an average of 3.56, which is in the very good category. This activity is effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge, awareness, and attitudes in preventing deviant behavior.. Keywords: Juvenile Delinquency; Character Education; Adolescent Girls; Socialization.
