Abstract

Physical Chemistry 5 is a main and diffi cult course for students because of itsrelation to microsspic properties and abstract with the result that the visualization isnecessity. Therefore, the appealing learning that can manure the students’ creativenessand innovation and motivate students to be entrepreneurs is necessity. Such learning is alearning using chemo-entrepreneurship (CEP) approach. Lesson study activity is potentialin learning community and collaboration development effectively. Therefore, the learning ofPhysical Chemistry 5 using CEP approach through lesson study activity is necessity. Thisresearch was aimed to improve the students’ achievement on Physical Chemistry 5 lectureusing CEP approach through lesson study activity. This research was conducted by quasiexperiment method involving students on seventh semester of Chemistry Programme assubject. Lesson study activity was conducted by three stages i.e. planning, doing, andrefl ecting. The instrument of research included the achievement test, observation sheets,and questionnaire sheets. The results showed that the achievement of experimental groupwas higher than of controlled group. The learning completeness of experimental group washigher than of controlled group. It was shown that this learning can improve students’ life skill. Key words: achievement, chemo-entrepreneurship, lesson study

Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate the influence of active learning with college ball game and magnitude of impact on student learning outcomes. A preliminary study conducted in SMA 11 Semarang indicated that students learning outcomes on buffer solution and hydrolysis topic are low. This is indicated by the value of daily tests or the last five years thats unable to reach a predetermined value, which is 65. A preliminary study also showed that the level of understanding and interesting in students learning is still lacking. This problem requires an appropriate teaming model to attract the attention of students in learning. Therefore, the active learning model with a college ball game was applied, and then impact on student learning outcome was studied. The population in this study was students of class XI IPA of SMA 11 Semarang on 200912010 academic year. Experimental design used is post-test only control group design and cluster random sampling methode. Based on the analysis of two average difference test is was obtained that the value tcatt (3.92)> ttabte (1.67). It can be concluded that there are differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results by test analysis biserial of correlation showed that (rb) (0.53)> SErb*1.96 (0.29). It can be concluded that the correlation between two variables is reliable. The results showed that active learning with college ball game contributes to students learning outcomes with the contribution of 28. 28%.

Abstract

The results of preliminary study showed that chemistry teachers in Kendal didn’t know how to design CAR, has not been able to integrate models, strategies, and approaches of learning to certain topics to design CAR, and find the time management difficult in CAR. Thus, it was needed to train them the basic skills to teach so they will be able to design and conduct a CAR that will give a direct impact on the quality instuction in the classroom. This activity was carried out in two main phases, namely seminar and workshop in stage I and mentoring of CAR preparation in stage II. The results of this activity indicated that CAR preparation training for chemistry teachers in Kendal was be able to improve chemistry teachers’ capability in developing CAR. However, an increase in teachers’ character as a figure, in addition to increasing the professionalism of teachers who simply boils down to the academic side is still needed. In addition, the school and the Education Department needs to provide more facilities for the implementation of CAR in school continue to increase the sustainaible quality of the learning process.

Abstract

Telah dipelajari aktivitas katalis Cr/Zeolit alam pada reaksi konversi minyakjelantah menjadi bahan bakar cair. Penelitian ini meliputi preparasi katalis Cr/zeolitalam dengan metode impregnasi, karakterisasi katalis, dan uji aktivitas katalisCr/Zeolit alam dalam reaksi konversi minyak jelantah menjadi bahan bakar cair.Reaksi dilakukan secara kontinyu pada fasa gas. Pada penelitian ini dipelajaripengaruh laju alir hidrogen dan waktu reaksi terhadap konversi minyak jelantahmenjadi bahan bakar cair. Hasil karakterisasi keasaman padatan menunjukkanpeningkatan keasaman total katalis. Analisis kualitatif menunjukkan peningkatankristalinitas katalis Cr/zeolit alam dan adanya spesi oksida dalam katalis seperti CrO2dan Cr2O3. Aktivitas terbaik ditunjukkan oleh kinerja katalis Cr/Zeolit alam padavariasi laju alir 5 mL/menit dan waktu 45 menit dengan konversi 75,23%.Berdasarkan analisis spektroskopi massa, produk mengandung senyawa pentana yangmuncul pada waktu retensi ( tR ) 14,566.Kata kunci : Cr/zeolit alam, minyak jelantah, bahan bakar cair

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mensintesis biodiesel dari bahan baku jelantah. Biodiesel merupakan sumber energi alternatif yang potensial untuk mengganti bahan bakar solar dari minyak bumi. Jelantah sebagai bahan baku pembuatan biodiesel berasal dari minyak kelapa sawit yang telah dipergunakan untuk keperluan rumah tangga. Jelantah atau minyak kelapa sawit bekas bersifat renewable (dapat diperbaharui), adapun minyak bumi sebagai bahan baku solar bersifat nonrenewable. Penelitian ini menghasilkan biodiesel dengan sifat fisik sebagai berikut: Densitas 873,5, korosi lempeng tembaga 1, CCR 0,073%, kadar air 0,16%, viskositas 4,649, titik kabut 21, dan Flash point 174,5. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kriteria biodiesel hampir memenuhi standart ASTM D 6751. Unjuk kerja biodiesel dalam mesin diesel dilakukan di Lab. Teknik Mesin UNNES. Biodiesel dicampur dengan solar dengan komposisi 10 % dan 20% dan kemudian dilakukan uji kinerjanya. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa biodiesel 10% dan 20% menghasilkan emisi gas buang yang lebih bersih dibanding solar murni dan waktu pembakaran yang lebih lama. Biodiesel 20 % lebih baik dibanding 10%.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh temperatur pada reaksi hidrodenitrogenasi piridin dengan katalis Ni-Mo/zeolit alam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh temperatur pada rentang 300 s.d 400oC terhadap reaksi HDN piridin dengan katalis Ni-Mo/ZA. Karakterisasi katalis meliputi penentuan luas permukaan, volume pori, dan rerata jejari pori dengan alat Gas Sorption Analyzer NOVA-1000, dan penentuan keasaman dengan adsorpsi gas amoniak piridin. Uji aktivitas katalis dilakukan pada proses HDN piridin dengan mengalirkan gas H2 dengan laju alir 50 mL/menit pada temperatur 300, 325, 350, 375, dan 400oC dilanjutkan dengan mengalirkan uap piridin melewati 1 gram katalis Ni-Mo/zeolit alam. Produk yang dihasilkan dianalisis menggunakan Gas Chromatography (GC) dan Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). Produk yang terdeteksi pada temperatur optimum 350oC dengan GC-MS meliputi metilsiklopentana, n-heksana, dan 3-metil pentana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan temperatur berpengaruh terhadap konversi (%) piridin sisa pada temperatur optimum sebesar 70,5893 % dan harga Ea reaksi HDN piridin dengan katalis Ni-Mo/ZA pada paparan temperatur 300 s.d 350oC dan 350 s.d 400oC masing-masing sebesar 56,1118 kJ mol-1 dan -44,2387 kJ mol-1.
