Abstract

In Indonesia, nationalist consciousness has recently been facing many problems, threats, and concerns about daily life security. The threat has shifted from armed threats to threats of poverty, ignorance, backwardness, hunger, diseases for which no cure has been found, scarcity of employment opportunities, unemployment everywhere, arbitrary actions of those in power, crime, SARA, national disintegration, anti-nationalist terrorism, narcotics trafficking. Illegal drugs are troubling the future of the younger generation. One of those who got the effect was ethnic Chinese residents. This research was conducted with the ethnic Chinese locus in the Indonesian Chinese Islamic Association of Jember, focusing on how the Jember ethnic Chinese Muslim community views nationalism. What is the process of instilling nationalist values among the ethnic Chinese Muslim community of Jember? This research aims to trace the nationalism of the ethnic Chinese Muslim community in Jember towards Indonesia and the process of instilling nationalist values among them so far. This research uses a qualitative paradigm with a narrative research approach. The results of this research show that the nationalist values of Jember's ethnic Chinese Muslim community have been ingrained since birth because the Jember Chinese Muslim community was born in Indonesia, not in China. Ethnic Chinese who were born in Indonesia to Chinese citizens in China are called overseas, which is why they are considered not to be genuine Chinese citizens because they were not born and distributed in the land of their ancestors. Nationalism is not just a saying; nationalism is a necessity that Jember's ethnic Chinese Muslims firmly hold. His nationalist experience was formed by practising the values of Pancasila. Forms of instilling and strengthening nationalism among member ethnic Chinese Muslims by holding regular discussions, mutual respect, tolerance, participating in state activities, cooperation and defending the country.

Abstract

The development of learning media in the form of interactive media involving animations, quizzes, and videos facilitates better understanding of learning material through two-way communication between the media and students, making the material more concrete and easier to comprehend. This study aims to develop an interactive learning media product based on Articulate Storyline 3 for use in elementary schools and to describe the feasibility of this media in such settings. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research contributes to the development of interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline in private elementary schools, improving student learning outcomes and enhancing the overall learning process at the elementary level. The results show that interactive media based on Articulate Storyline 3 effectively enhances student understanding, particularly in abstract topics such as magnetism. Its features promote active learning, improve academic performance, and support various learning styles. Developed using the ADDIE model, the media fosters an inclusive and engaging learning environment. However, its success depends on teacher readiness and available infrastructure. Overall, this media offers an innovative approach to enrich primary education. This study contributes to the development of interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3, which is effective in enhancing students' understanding, especially in abstract topics like magnetism. By supporting active learning and various learning styles, this media offers an innovative approach to enrich the learning experience in primary education.

Abstract

Learning in Islamic elementary schools is often characterized by teacher-centered instruction and limited use of interactive learning media, resulting in low student motivation and passive learning behaviors. The lack of engaging, technology-integrated media hinders students’ active participation, reduces learning interest, and limits the development of meaningful and motivating learning experiences. This study investigates how learning media development is designed, validated, and implemented to effectively enhance student motivation in Islamic elementary schools through feasible and engaging instructional media. This study used a research and development approach with the ADDIE model involving 25 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and pretest–posttest, and analyzed using Likert scales and N-Gain to assess feasibility and effectiveness. The study concludes that ADDIE-based Digital Crossword effectively enhances elementary students’ motivation, engagement, and conceptual understanding in Natural and Social Sciences. Acting as a pedagogical mediator, the media combines multimodal elements, game mechanics, and immediate feedback to foster active, meaningful learning. High expert validation and positive student responses confirm its feasibility and pedagogical potential, with moderate N-Gain improvement observed. This study is significant as it provides empirical evidence that ADDIE-based Digital Crossword media effectively enhances student motivation, engagement, and conceptual understanding, offering a practical, scalable model for interactive, game-based learning in elementary education.
