Abstract

Decorative fish are popular pets that are often kept in pools or aquariums. Aquariums are an effective choice for decorative fish lovers because they make it easy to monitor fish development and settlement arrangements. Important aspects in keeping ornamental fish include feeding, water clarity, and lighting systems. Continuously lit light can cause the growth of molluscs in the aquarium, which reduces the clarity of the water and affects its quality. The occupation of the owners often makes them forget to control the water condition and lighting. Water that is not regularly replaced can cause pH instability, which has a negative impact on fish health. Remaining feed that sits at the bottom of the aquarium and is not filtered by the filter also reduces the clarity of the water. Therefore, it is important to control the water clarity and lighting periodically so that the fish can grow well. The solution for owners who don't have time for water replacement and lighting control is to use an Internet of Things (IoT) based system. IoT allows remote control and monitoring over the Internet. The research developed an IoT system to control water and aquarium lighting using the NodeMCU ESP8266 module connected to the Blynk Cloud. The system is equipped with an ultrasonic sensor to measure water height, a solenoid valve to regulate water flow, LEDs as lighting, and a buzzer as warning, all of which can be controlled via a smartphone.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) and the internet  has entered all areas of life such as business and commerce, so that many shops use the internet  to expand their business processes. In various industrial cases, even though they are very strong in their traditional business form, they will not hesitate to implement the e-catalog application, because this sistem can really help the loyal customer during the time to know what in the store is, the profile of specification of products. The purpose of this is to convince customers not looking for other stores. Tiara Fashion store is a store that sells women's clothes. In the marketing process, the store does not have media or a place to promote the store and the products it sells. It causes difficulties for customers in finding information about products being sold. Furthermore, the process of managing sales data is still recorded manually in book. This condition could accure errors in recording the oaculation of sales, data stacking and retrieving data. Based on this description, it is necessary to create a sistem that is able to facilitate the process of delivering information to the public through an e-catalog application that is applied to the web with sistem development using Waterfall with the initial stage is user’s requirements to identify the needs of the sistem to be build.

Abstract

Pengrajin tahu ASMA Medan adalah sebuah usaha yang menghasilkan tahu goreng kopong dengan berbagai macam ukuran yang biasa digunakan untuk tahu isi, bakso bakar, campuran bakso, campuran tauco, mie ayam, mei sop, dan lain-lain. Mitra pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) selama ini dalam menjalan aktivitas usahanya seperti pemasaran hasil produksi, administrasi data dan informasi hasil produksi serta proses produksi dilakukan secara konvensional/tradisional. Kegiatan PKM yang akan dilakukan pada pengrajin tahu ASMA Medan adalah sosialisasi pengenalan dan pemanfaat Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) dengan tujuan memberi pembekalan pengetahun dan keterampilan kepada mitra mengenai TIK dan manfaatannya pada dunia usaha khususnya bidang pengrajin tahu. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan pada kegiatan PKM adalah: 1) Perencanaan, 2) Survey/obervasi, 3) Persiapan PKM, 4) Pelaksanaan PKM, 5) Pelaporan hasil kegiatan PKM. Sebagai hasil akhir dari kegitan PKM dengan bekal pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dimiliki kedepannya diharapkan mitra dapat berbagi/sharing pengetahuan kepada masyarakat sekitar dan menerapkannya bersama-sama pada bidang usaha yang mereka miliki sehingga dapat meningkatkan perekonomian pelaku pengrajin di kelurahan Mabar Hilir Medan.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi memungkinkan diterapkannya media pembelajaran yang inovatif, salah satunya dengan aplikasi berbasis Android. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan aplikasi pengenalan hardware komputer berbasis Android yang dapat membantu siswa di SMP Kesatria Medan dalam memahami komponen-komponen dasar komputer. Aplikasi ini dirancang dengan antarmuka yang sederhana dan menarik, sehingga memudahkan siswa dalam penggunaannya. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, pengembangan, serta pengujian aplikasi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap hardware komputer dengan cara yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Aplikasi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi media pembelajaran tambahan yang efektif dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

Aquariums are decorative elements that not only serve to beautify a room, but also as artificial habitats for fish and other aquatic creatures. One of the main problems in maintaining an aquarium is keeping the glass clean from algae and dirt that can interfere with the aesthetics and comfort of the creatures inside. Previous research has focused on Internet of Things (IoT)-based water control and lighting systems, but has not yet covered the aspect of automatic glass cleaning. Manual cleaning requires time and effort, and if not done regularly, can lead to a decline in the quality of the aquarium environment. This study aims to design and develop a glass cleaning system with a motorized mechanism for an IoT-based smart aquarium. The system is designed to operate automatically or via remote control using a smartphone. The cleaning mechanism is activated based on the detection of dirt through a turbidity sensor that measures the level of clarity or turbidity of the water due to algae build up. The turbidity sensor is also used as the main trigger for glass cleaning. The hardware used includes a drive motor (stepper), turbidity sensor, and NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller connected to the Blynk Cloud platform for control and monitoring via a mobile application. The results of this study are a prototype of an efficient, responsive, and easy-to-operate IoT-based aquarium glass cleaning system that can improve the convenience of aquarium maintenance automatically and in real-time.
