Abstract

Islam sangat menganjurkan keamanan dan kedamaian bagi seluruh makhluk hidup. Salah satu fondasi kedamaian yang diinginkan adalah kasih sayang, tidak hanya kepada manusia tapi juga kepada mahluk lain termasuk hewan. hal tersbut diperlihatkan oleh Muhammad SAW sebagai pembawa kasih sayang untuk seluruh alam semesta. Akan tetapi sikap kasih sayang terhadap hewan tersebut agaknya tidak diamalkan sepenuhnya oleh kaum muslimin. Terbukti dengan banyaknya penyiksaan atau perlakuan tidak baik pada hewan. Seperti kasus kucing liar di jalanan dengan kulit melepuh hingga tampak dagingnya akibat disiram air panas, dan dalam beberapa kasus, hewan-hewan tersebut disakiti tanpa alasan yang jelas, hanya untuk sekadar iseng dan hiburan. Kesenjangan yang terjadi mendorong penulis untuk mengeksplor lebih komprehensif hadis-hadis yang menganjurkan manusia untuk menyayangi hewan dan bagaimana bentuk kasih sayang kepadanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode hadis tematik, dengan tujuan mengumpulkan semua hadis-hadis tentang kasih sayang terhadap hewan dalam kutub al-tis’ah. Lalu kemudian dianalisa secara komprehensif untuk mendapatkan pesan moral yang dikandung. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa bentuk-bentuk kasih sayang terhadap hewan adalah memberi makan dan minum hewan, tidak membiarkan mereka kelaparan, tidak membunuh hewan tanpa alasan yang jelas, tidak menunggangi hewan yang tidak diciptakan untuk hal tersebut, memanfaatkan hewan sesuai dengan fungsinya, menjaga kebersihan kandang hewan dan hewan jika membudidayakannya, menyembelih hewan dengan cara yang baik, tidak memisahkan burung atau hewan dengan induknya tanpa alasan yang jelas, tidak membunuh hewan dengan api, dan tidak merusak tempat tinggal mereka.

Abstract

This study raises the theme of criticism of anthropocentric readings implemented in the Qur'an, as Sarra Tlili often voices in his various scientific works and seminars. As commonly known, anthropocentrism (the dominant paradigm of the modern age) is receiving widespread criticism because it is considered the root of the global environmental crisis and various forms of violence against animals. Anthropocentric reading of the Qur'an itself has given birth to a biased view of nature and non-human animals so that they are only assessed from the aspect of their use for human interests (instrumentalism) as God's golden children (favoritism). As an alternative, Tlili (re)promotes theocentrism and ecocentrism which are considered more in line with the cosmology of the Qur’an. This research itself uses the hermeneutic verstehen method and active reading techniques which are carried out on various works of Tlili regarding the research theme. This research concludes that it is necessary to reinterpret some of the core concepts in the Qur'an as Tlili did so that it does not give rise to biased views of nature and various forms of violence against non-human animals.

Abstract

The hadith about the Prophet Moses slapping the Angel of Death has caused controversy among scholars. Although this hadith has a valid sanad and is narrated by a reliable narrator, some scholars argue that its text contains impossibilities and cannot be accepted by reason. This study aims to analyze the various understandings of scholars regarding the hadith of the Prophet Moses slapping the Angel of Death and to find a middle ground to understand it. The method used in this study is qualitative with a library research approach. The results of the study show that the hadith does not contain impossibilities and does not contradict human reason and logic. Differences in views in understanding this hadith do not damage a person's faith, especially since this hadith is not directly related to faith or sharia. However, it should be noted that when faced with a hadith that seems to contradict logic, it is best not to rush to declare the hadith weak, because something that seems to contradict logic to some people may not be so to others.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of the concept of religious moderation at IAIN Curup based on the perspectives of the academic community, religious leaders and community leaders of Rejang Lebong. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted in October 2021 with research instruments in the form of questionnaire sheets, observation sheets, and interview sheets. The population taken in this study is the entire academic community of IAIN Curup and all religious and community leaders of Rejang Lebong. From the entire population, a sample of 200 people who are the academic community and 22 people who are religious leaders and community leaders of Rejang Lebong are taken. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the concept of religious moderation in IAIN Curup is returned to their respective lecturers through course licensing, maybe not 100% but the concept of religious moderation at IAIN Curup is still being pursued. Empirical experience of religious moderation at IAIN Curup has been felt starting from internal activities on campus as well as external activities in collaboration with parties outside the campus. The first strategy for implementing religious moderation in IAIN Curup is licensing in certain subjects and lecturer workshops, research on religious moderation, and thematic Community Service and Community Service. The understanding of religious moderation from the academic community, community leaders and religious leaders of Rejang Lebong is good. The direction of developing religious moderation within IAIN Curup by making activities from Real Work Lectures (KKN), lectures, research and others has the aim of leading to religious moderation. For further research on the construction of religious moderation in the IAIN Curup environment, it can be taken from even more perspectives.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development and role of living Hadith in Indonesia. Using qualitative methods and a library research approach, this study highlights living Hadith research through the Dimensions website. The findings reveal that living Hadith plays a crucial role in bridging Islamic teachings with local culture, strengthening regional religious identities, and fostering harmony between religion and local wisdom. Additionally, this approach addresses the limitations of rigid and textual traditional normative methods by exploring the actualization of Hadith in social practices and traditions. Living Hadith research contributes to critically evaluating, improving, and reforming traditions to align with Islamic teachings while promoting religious moderation through tolerant, inclusive, and adaptive understandings of Indonesia's cultural diversity. Searches through Dimensions identified 220 scholarly articles on living Hadith, while VOSviewer analysis found 100 researchers contributing to this field. This study affirms that living Hadith development in Indonesia has significantly advanced since the early 2000s, driven by contributions from academics at UIN, IAIN, and STAIN. It highlights the importance of living Hadith in ensuring the relevance of Islam to contemporary changes while preserving the values of togetherness in a pluralistic society.
