Abstract

Small islands in Indonesia have prospects for seaweed development. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate how many income and production function of seaweed Gracilaria sp. cultivation in order to know wheter the cultivation is profitable or not and how many profit is obtained by the pond farmers. This research aims to : 1) Determine and analyze the level of farmers’s income in seaweed Gracilaria sp. cultivation; 2) Determine the factors that affect seaweed Gracilaria sp. production; and 3) Determine and analyze how efficient use of planting area, seeds, labor, and harvest time on seaweed Gracilaria sp.  cultivation production. The research was conducted in Tanjung Sari hamlet, Jabon sub-district, Sidoarjo regency, East Java. Data collection methods used are interview methods, questionnaires, observation and documentation. The analysis used in this research is income analysis, Cobb-Douglas analysis and efficiency analysis. The results showed that the income level of pond farmers in the production of seaweed Gracilaria sp. was profitable and feasible to cultivate, partially had a positive effect on seaweed Gracilaria sp.  production and overall the variables had a positive effect on variable Y, namely seaweed Gracilaria sp.  production, and efficiency in seaweed Gracilaria sp. farming had a combination of inputs that were not optimum. DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/adv.v9i2.2461

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the entrepreneurial behavior of semanggi pecel sellers in Semanggi Village, Surabaya City. The subject of this research is clover pecel traders, both street vendors and traders who settled somewhere. Changes in behavior are influenced by one's internal and environmental factors in which a person interacts socially (Dirlanudin, 2010). The sample of this study was 37 respondents. The analytical method used is Spearman Rank correlation analysis with the analysis tool is SPSS. Careful entrepreneurial behavior includes knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Each entrepreneurial behavior was measured using a questionnaire and each behavior was represented by 20 questions. This study concludes that the calculated average of the score of semanggi pecel entrepreneurial behavior is 226.92 which means it is in the high category. High entrepreneurial behavior as many as 31 people with 83.78 percent, very high as many as 5 people with 13.51 percent and as many as one person 2.70 percent. DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/adv.v10i2.2912

Abstract

Understanding consumer preferences is important in the contect of decision making of key stakeholders, including producers themselves, as well as development agencies that operate in the fruit subsector. This research aims to analyse the attributes of yellow kepok banana that became analyse the attributes most considered by the consumers on the decisions to buy yellow kepok banana at traditional market in Surabaya City. The method of this research is case study. Data were collected by interview the respondents directly at tradisional market with the questionnaires. Descrptive analytic method was applied by implementing purposive sampling to get 100 consumets as respondents in this research. The attributes observed are the color of fruit, taste of fruit, size and flavour of fruit. Respondent characteristics and consumer behaviour are analysed by descriptive. Whereas yellow kepok banana preferences were analysed by using chi square. While most considered attributes shown by the calculation of chi square. Yellow kepok banana attributes that consumers the purchase consider include : bright yellow kepok banana fruit color, the taste of yellow kepok banana is a bit sweet, medium size yellow kepok banana (10-14 cm) and sweet yellow kepok banana flavour. DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/adv.v10i2.2914
