Abstract

The increasing population and the demand for soybean consumption in Indonesia are not comparable to soybean production, which is still low. Land conversion and changes in climate patterns that cause drought stress are also triggers for low production. Drought stress can be anticipated by using drought stress-tolerant cultivars at various growth phases. This study aimed to determine the effect of drought stress on yields and yield components of several soybean cultivars. In addition, to determine the soybean cultivars that are most resistant to drought stress. This study was arranged experimentally using a factorial (3x2) split-plot design. The main plot, namely drought stress, consisted of three levels: watering once a day, once every three days, and watering once every six days. The sub-plots were soybean cultivars with three replications consisting of 2 levels, namely Wilis and Anjasmoro cultivars. The selection of these 2 cultivars was made on purpose because farmers had easy access to seeds. Determination of drought stress-resistant cultivars using the stress tolerance index (ITC). Drought stress caused almost all yield and yield component variables to decrease, such as the number of pods, the number of seeds per pod, and the total weight of seeds. Based on the stress tolerance index (ITC), it is known that the Wilis cultivar is more tolerant to drought stress than the Anjasmoro cultivar.

Abstract

Perbanyakan secara generatif tanaman delima mempunyai kendala karena benih delima yang memiliki sifat dormansi, dimana kulit benih nya sangat keras.Struktur kulit benih yang keras diduga dapat menghalangi benih berkecambah.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan interaksi terbaik antara konsentrasi dan lama perendaman benih delima di dalam air kelapa muda, mendapatkan konsentrasi perendaman air kelapa muda yang tepat dan mendapatkan lama perendaman dalam air kelapa muda yang tepat untuk mematahkan dormansi benih delima. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap ( RAL ) Faktorial dua faktor dengan tiga ulangan, dengan faktor pertama konsentrasi perendaman yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu konsentrasi air kelapa muda 50 %, 75% dan 100% dan faktor kedua lama perendaman terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu selama 6 jam, 12 jam, 18 jam dan 24 jam. Data pengamatan dianalisis dengan uji F taraf nyata 5% dan F hitung perlakuan lebih besar dari pada F tabel dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara konsentrasi perendaman dan lama perendaman benih delima di dalam air kelapa muda.Konsentrasi perendaman tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap pematahan dormansi benih delima. Lama perendaman benih tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap pematahan dormansi benih delima. Kata kunci :Benih delima, dormansi, konsentrasi, perendaman

Abstract

This study aims to analyze individual factors and entrepreneurial behavior of oyster mushroom farmers in Payakumbuh. The entrepreneurial behavior characteristics of oyster mushroom farmers were analyzed descriptively from 60 selected farmers using a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The results showed that individual factors consisting of experience, self-confidence, motivation to try farming, skills, perceptions of effort, and desire to try were classified into the high category. Individual factor variables that have a high level of perception for farmers are high desire to try. Entrepreneurial behavior consisting of persistence in trying, responsiveness to opportunities, being innovative, daring to take risks, and being independent. Entrepreneurial behavior variables that have a high level of perception for farmers are diligent in trying, namely the farmer's persistence in pursuing farming and his patience in facing difficulties.

Abstract

Research in the form of a field experiment with the title "Growth Response and Yield of Red Lettuce Plants (Lactuca sativa L.) Due to the Administration of Several PGR Concentrations Using Floating Raft System Hydroponic Technology". was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University, West Sumatra, Tanjung Gadang Koto Village. Nan Ampek, West Payakumbuh District, Payakumbuh City, altitude ± 514 meters above sea level. The experiment lasted for 3 months, starting from June 2023 to August 2023. This experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications, in one replication there were 4 plants, 2 of which are sample plants selected randomly. The treatments were several ghost PGR concentrations of 0 ml/liter, 2 ml/liter, 4 ml/liter, 6 ml/liter and 8 ml/liter. The observation data were averaged and analyzed statistically with the F test at a significance level of 5%. Observation parameters were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf length (cm), leaf width (cm), weight per plant (g), plant weight per plot (g), plant weight per hectare (tons). From the results of the experiments that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the administration of several concentrations of Ghost ZPT has not been able to have an effect on the growth and yield of red lettuce plants.

Abstract

Research in the form of a field experiment on "The Effect of Soaking Time of Papaya (Carica Papaya L.) Seeds in Shallot Extract (Allium ascolanicum L.) on Seedling Growth. It has been carried out in the form of a field experiment that has been carried out in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah West Sumatra, Tanjung Gadang Koto Nan Ampek Village, West Payakumbuh District, Payakumbuh City, with Inceptisol soil type, and has an altitude of ± 514 meters above sea level, this experiment was carried out in starting from June 2023 to July 2023. This experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications, in each treatment there were 4 plants and 2 were sample plants. Treatment of papaya seeds soaked in water for 1 hour, papaya seeds soaked in shallot extract for 2 hours, papaya seeds soaked in shallot extract for 3 hours, papaya seeds soaked in shallot extract for 4 hours, papaya seeds soaked in shallot extract for 5 hours. Observational data on papaya seedlings were averaged and statistically analyzed using the F test. Parameters observed in this study were field emergence (days), seedling height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf length (cm), width leaves (cm), stem diameter (cm), growing percentage (%). From the results of this experiment it can be concluded that due to long soaking of papaya seeds in shallot extract it has not been able to have a significant effect on the growth of papaya seedlings aged 45 HST.
