Abstract

Global warming is a challenge faced by the agricultural sector because global warming has resulted in a decrease in production and productivity of food crops caused by natural disasters, one of which is flooding. Nagari Taram, which is a producer of food crops, especially rice, in Harau District is an area prone to flooding. So that when this area is hit by floods it will cause a decrease in rice production. Therefore, it is necessary to do afforestation as a long-term flood management strategy. The reforestation was carried out in the Kapalo Banda river basin. The plants planted are ketapang trees because ketapang trees are trees that provide many benefits such as being a shade, neutralizing the pH of water, the seeds are consumed, as building materials and most importantly the extract can be used by farmers for herbicides. It is hoped that this greening will provide knowledge, examples and motivation for the local community so that later this greening will continue to the lower reaches of the Kapalo Banda river.

Abstract

Soil quality becomes poor with the use of inorganic chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Some efforts have been made to improve the quality of the soil, but naturally, not much has been studied. Natural improvement of soil quality by using Trichoderma and biochar and applying them to the cultivation of lettuce vegetables has not been reviewed, so it needs to be studied. This research aims to improve soil quality with Trichoderma and biochar and trial it on the cultivation of lettuce vegetable plants. The study was conducted by analyzing the chemical properties of the soil two weeks before being planted with lettuce. At the time of planting with lettuce is fertilized with Trichoderma and biochar, at the planting age of 2 weeks after planting, then the planting age after three weeks analyzed the quality of the soil again. To study the cultivation of lettuce, measurements of leaf length, plant height, Number of leaves, and plant weight at the time of harvest. The results showed an improvement in soil quality, from a soil pH of 5.52 to a pH of 7.8 N levels; 0.16%, K exchange;0.32 and P available; 4.32 ppm is better. Lettuce plants grown in soil treated with Trichoderma and biochar fertilizers showed greater yields than lettuce plants not treated with Trichoderma and biochar fertilizers. This research could improve soil quality for the foreseeable future using Trichoderma and biochar fertilizers.

Abstract

Inceptisol soil is a soil that is not good chemical and physical quality for the cultivation of lettuce microgreen. However, microgreen is a plant that has many benefits. Microgreens can fight free radicals, are useful as antioxidants, relieve the workload of damaged kidneys and lower bad cholesterol levels, and can reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease. Several studies have been conducted to improve the soil quality of inceptisol. But improving its chemical quality by using a mixture of husk charcoal and sand and proving the change through the cultivation of lettuce microgreen has not been done much. The purpose of this study is to study the improvement of the chemical quality and physics of inceptisol soil using a mixture of husk charcoal and sand by cultivating lettuce microgreen in the land. This research is a mixture of field research and analysis in the laboratory. before planting and 2 weeks after planting, the land is measured pH, P determination is available by bra method, N conjecturing by means of distillation and spectrophotometry. Determination K uses HCl extraction method. Determination of Zn, Fe, and Ca using DTPA extraction. For analysis of cultivation, results is with RAK, where there are 4 groups with 5 Deuteronomy. The result was a change in pH from 4.7 to 6.9. The content of P, N and K changes from ineligible to fulfilling the requirements for lettuce plants. The results of the analysis provide real different information.

Abstract

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the infectious diseases that is still a global health problem. According to World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2020, there are about 10 million new cases of tuberculosis worldwide. TB is still the leading cause of death from infectious diseases in the world, even surpassing the death rate from COVID-19 at the time. In 2019, there were 5,403 TB cases in West Sumatra, in 2019 there were 5,190 TB cases in men (62.70%). Padang is the city with the highest number of TB cases in West Sumatra, with 2,358 cases in 2018, In May 2022, there were 1,500 confirmed TB patients in Padang. Factors contributing to the increase in TB cases in Indonesia, including West Sumatra, are genetics, lifestyle, and level of knowledge. There has been a lot of discussion about tuberculosis, but not many have studied health program communication education about public knowledge about tuberculosis. The purpose of this study was to study health program communication education about public knowledge about tuberculosis. The survey method was used to collect data from respondents representing the community in Padang City. Surveys through written questionnaires and interviews via Google form sent online. Questions in the survey covered aspects such as public knowledge about tuberculosis before and after Promkes education, attitudes towards TB prevention, and factors influencing participation in education programs. The data were analyzed statistically, measuring changes in knowledge before and after Promkes education, and analyzing the factors that influenced the results. Health Program Education Group: Average knowledge about tuberculosis prevention: 8.5 Standard deviation of knowledge: 1.2. Uneducated Group: Average knowledge about tuberculosis prevention: 6.2 Standard deviation of knowledge: 1.5. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the group that received Promkes education had a higher average knowledge about tuberculosis prevention compared to the group that did not get education. This difference shows that Promkes education has the potential to have a positive impact on public knowledge about tuberculosis prevention.
