Abstract

The cause of infection in postpartum women is due to the perineal wound. Data released from Purbalingga district health office in 2022, Kutawis Health Center ranked second in the incidence of perineal wound infection. Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and red betel leaf are known contains chemicals that are antiseptic and antibacterial. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of VCO and red betel leaf water decoction on the healing time of perineal lacerations of grade II postpartum women in the Kutawis Health Center working area of Purbalingga Regency. This type of research uses quasy experimental design, two group pretest posttest design. The sample of this study are 34 people taken using accidental sampling. The sample was divided into 2 groups. Data analysis using Mann Whitney test. The results of the intervention group obtained p value 0.025. (p-value 0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between groups using VCO and red betel leaf water decoction. An average wound healing using VCO 6.17 days and the group using red betel leaf decoction on average healed 5.58 days. Based on the research, it is known that there is a difference in the healing time of perineal wounds between treatments using VCO and red betel leaf water decoction. Treatment using red betel leaf is faster wound healing than treatment using VCO. From the results of this study it is hoped that it can be applied independently so that it can accelerate the healing of lacerations.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are significant because if the growth and development process at that time is optimal, it will produce healthy adolescent girls and in the end, it will produce healthy mothers to be as well. Adolescents tend to want to have an ideal body so neglect a healthy diet, followed by dense adolescent activities that make adolescent girl potentially experience health problems such as anemia so that researchers innovate drinks in the form of tomato juice and dates to increase hemoglobin levels apart from supplementation Fe. The type of this research is quantitative research. Quasi-experimental research design with pre-test design and post-test design with a control group. The sample in this study was Semarang Poltekkes students who lived in Semarang Poltekkes Dormitory and were aged 17-21 years and not menstruating. The sampling technique is by using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis used is using an independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was no significant (p=0,309) effect of giving a combination of tomato and date juice on hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls. However, there was an increase in average hemoglobin levels before and after the intervention of juice and iron suplementation. The results of this study are expected that adolescent girls obediently consume Fe tablets according to the provisions. Apart from supplementation, young women can also consume fruits that contain iron such as dates, and contain vitamin C such as tomatoes to help absorb iron.

Abstract

Indonesia's humid and hot climate makes the body sweat excessively so that the pH of the vagina increases and facilitates the growth of bacteria in the vagina. So it takes enough knowledge for students to be able to care for the vagina to avoid reproductive health problems. Health information on vulva hygiene in boarding schools is very rare.  Improving students' knowledge can be done by providing health education using educational game media. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of health education with card game media on the level of knowledge of vulva hygiene in students. This research was conducted at Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School from March until May 2021. This research included a pre-experimental design using one group pretest and posttest. The sample in this research was a grade IX junior high school student aged 14-16 years old (57 students). Sampling techniques used purposive sampling technique and data analysis used Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the research that the average score of knowledge of the students before and after giving health education using card game media is 60.61 and 81.58. There was an average increase of before and after giving health education  20.97. The results of this research indicated that there was an influence between health education about vulva hygiene and card games on the knowledge level of students at the Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School with the Asymp.Sig value of 0.000 <0.05. The benefit of this research for students of Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School will understand the material, will not underestimate the importance of vulva hygiene, and will do proper vulva hygiene after getting health education given by the researcher through card games.
