Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Young couples who have become mothers and do not have sufficient knowledge about family planning but are in the unmet need group for family planning have a higher risk of experiencing pregnancy complications. Pregnancy complications can lead to an increased risk of maternal mortality and morbidity. Purpose: This study explored the factors influencing the unmet need for family planning among young couples using the rapid review method. Methods: This scoping review study was sourced from ScienceDirect, Pubmed, and Wiley Online Library databases for article searches from 2010-2021. The primary study refers to young couples with unmet needs for a family planning group and explores its determinants, adapting the PRISMA-ScR 2020 checklist framework. Results: 14 articles met the inclusion criteria from 1,020 articles. The review found two determinants of unmet need for family planning among young couples: sociodemographic and health factors. Sociodemographic factors were divided into ten factors: age, place of residence, community culture, maternal motivation to participate in family planning, maternal autonomy in decision-making, knowledge, religion, marital status, economic status, and desire for family planning. Health factors are divided into two categories, namely parity and health services. Conclusion: The study found similar reasons for women's unmet family planning needs. The unmet need for family planning among young couples is common in developing countries.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy remains a major public health concern in Indonesia. Despite the government's iron supplement programs, adherence to Iron-Folic Acid (IFA) tablets remains low due to side effects, cultural myths, and lack of contextual education. In the digital era, online communities serve as a new platform for sharing experiences and information about pregnancy. This study aims to explore the perceptions, practices, and barriers faced by pregnant women in managing anemia using a netnographic approach within digital communities. This qualitative study used netnography to collect data from five digital platforms (Facebook groups, parenting forums, Instagram, Twitter/X, and YouTube) between January and March 2025. Data were analyzed using Braun & Clarke’s thematic analysis approach. From 342 analyzed posts, three major themes emerged: (1) pregnant women's perceptions of anemia and concerns about fetal impacts, (2) practices related to IFA consumption and iron-rich diets influenced by food myths, and (3) barriers such as nausea, gastrointestinal side effects, misinformation, and lack of empathetic healthcare services. On the other hand, digital communities provided social support and adaptive strategies through shared narratives. Netnography offers authentic insights into the nutritional behavior dynamics of pregnant women. Community-based digital education, incorporating storytelling and peer experiences, can enhance adherence to IFA supplementation. This study highlights the need for empathetic health communication strategies and the engagement of influencers from digital mother communities. Limitations include lack of validation of user narratives and restricted platform coverage. Mixed-method studies are recommended to further explore sociocultural contexts.

Each group was given treatment for 3 weeks with 1 intervention per week, duration of 30 minutes, BISQ instrument with 15 question items. Bivariate data with paired t-test and multivariate with post-hoc bonferroni anova test. The results of infants' sleep quality in the pre test showed the combined vs baby massage value p=0.921, Combined vs Ear Shenmen value p= 1,000, Baby Massage vs Ear Shenmen value p= 0,464, whereas for in the combined group of delta values (124.50), infant massage group (72.80), ear shenmen group (48.50) and confidence value p=0.001 p=(p<0.05). Each group showed an average post value of >200, indicating that all groups were equally effective in raising the caliber of infants' sleep.
