Abstract

Pendidikan di era digital menuntut pemanfaatan teknologi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Workshop ini diselenggarakan sebagai bagian dari upaya pengabdian masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran Bahasa Inggris di SDN 31 Negerikaton. Dengan melibatkan empat guru sebagai peserta, workshop ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman mendalam dan aplikatif terkait penggunaan Microsoft PowerPoint sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif. Pentingnya integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di tingkat dasar menjadi fokus utama. Workshop dirancang untuk memberikan wawasan tentang cara memanfaatkan fitur-fitur canggih Microsoft PowerPoint guna menciptakan pengalaman pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Dengan memahami secara mendalam potensi aplikasi tersebut, diharapkan guru-guru dapat mengintegrasikan teknologi ini ke dalam metode pengajaran mereka.

Abstract

Public speaking fear, or glossophobia, constitutes a significant and widespread barrier to communication competence and socioeconomic integration for adult English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners, intensified by the effects of Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA). This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) employed the PRISMA framework to synthesize empirical evidence published between 2015 and the present (36 studies) regarding the causes and interventions for this phenomenon. Findings confirm that anxiety is driven by the dynamic interaction of psychological factors (fear of negative evaluation, low self-efficacy) and linguistic factors (L2 proficiency deficits, accent anxiety). Intervention models based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), particularly when combined with Virtual Reality (VR) exposure, demonstrated the highest efficacy in producing large and sustained reductions in anxiety. The results advocate for adopting multi-modal, integrated curricula that systematically address both psychological resilience and linguistic insecurity within a supportive, low-stakes learning environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pengembangan keterampilan berbahasa anak usia sekolah dasar dalam perspektif pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan keterampilan menyimak, berbicara, membaca, dan menulis harus dilakukan secara terpadu dan kontekstual dengan mempertimbangkan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan sosial-budaya siswa. Strategi pembelajaran yang efektif di MI perlu mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keislaman, menggunakan media yang relevan, serta memperhatikan karakteristik lingkungan religius seperti budaya pesantren. Guru memegang peran penting dalam mengelola proses pembelajaran bahasa agar mampu membentuk siswa yang tidak hanya kompeten secara linguistik, tetapi juga berkarakter religius dan berakhlak mulia. Temuan ini memperkuat pentingnya perancangan strategi pengembangan keterampilan berbahasa yang holistik dan berbasis nilai untuk menghasilkan pembelajaran yang bermakna.

Abstract

High academic burden is often the main trigger of stress among college students, which has a negative impact on their mental health, motivation to learn, and sleep quality. This study aims to examine the academic burden, influences, and strategies experienced by college students. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and literature studies from various relevant sources. The results of the analysis show that students who face excessive academic burden tend to experience significant stress, which can interfere with their psychological well-being and academic performance. Social support, especially from family and friends, has been shown to be more effective in helping students manage academic tasks. Therefore, it is important for educational institutions to pay attention to the academic burden given and provide adequate support services to improve students' well-being and academic success.

Abstract

The role of the family in shaping the moral and spiritual values of early childhood is crucial, as the family serves as the primary foundation for a child's character development. Children spend a significant amount of time with their families, particularly parents, who are their first role models in learning values, ethics, and the meaning of life. This study aims to explore how families influence the formation of moral and spiritual values in early childhood at home and identify factors that strengthen and hinder this process. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 parents in Hutaimbaru Village, Padangsidimpuan, who have young children. The findings indicate that parents actively instill moral and spiritual values in their children through modeling, habituation, and guidance, recognizing that young children tend to imitate their parents' behaviors. However, challenges arise from external influences such as technology, gadget use, and peer interactions, which can affect children's behavior. When children exhibit deviant behavior, parents tend to respond with corrective measures through empathetic approaches, such as engaging in constructive dialogues. With a holistic and collaborative approach, it is hoped that children can grow into individuals with strong moral and spiritual character.

Abstract

High-achieving students are often seen as strong and successful figures, but in reality, many of them experience hidden psychological stress. This study is important to reveal the silent side behind academic achievement that is often overlooked, especially related to mental health. This study aims to understand the subjective experiences of high-achieving students in dealing with academic and social pressure and how they respond to mental health conditions that arise as a result. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 active students at the State Islamic University who had a GPA ≥ 3.5 and had achieved academic or non-academic achievements. Data analysis was carried out using a thematic approach based on the Braun and Clarke procedure. The results of the study showed five main themes: achievement pressure and academic anxiety, social loneliness and alienation, coping strategies for stress, the need for social support, and the role of perfectionism in influencing mental conditions. High-achieving students were shown to experience high stress but had varying coping mechanisms. This study aims to emphasize the importance of the role of educational institutions in providing a safe and inclusive psychological support space for high-achieving students so that achievement can go hand in hand with mental well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the challenges faced by UIN Syahada Padang Sidimpuan dormitory students in improving their foreign language skills, especially English and Arabic as flagship programs. In addition, this study also explores the adaptation strategies used by students to overcome these challenges. Through a qualitative case study approach involving in-depth interviews and participatory observation, this study explores students' subjective experiences related to environmental constraints, motivation, access to resources, and social interaction in the context of foreign language learning in a dormitory environment. The findings show that the main challenges faced by dormitory children include the lack of an active foreign language environment, lack of supporting facilities such as books and interactive learning media, weak motivation to study independently, and limited guidance from the campus and dormitory management. In addition, differences in educational background and basic language skills are also inhibiting factors. This study recommends the need for the formation of a language community in the dormitory, the training of peer tutors, and the procurement of a routine foreign language coaching program that is integrated with dormitory activities. With the right strategy, the dormitory environment can be a potential forum for improving students' foreign language skills. The results of the research are expected to provide in-depth insights for universities and dorm managers in designing more effective interventions to support the development of students in foreign languages, which ultimately contributes to improving the quality of graduates at the international level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the struggles of UIN Syahada students in maintaining mental health amidst the pressure of academic assignment deadlines. The methodology employed is qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and participatory observation of several active students. The results indicate that students face significant challenges in managing stress and time pressure, but they strive to develop coping strategies such as time management, sharing feelings with friends, and engaging in relaxation activities. These findings emphasize the importance of social support and awareness of mental health among students as part of preventive efforts against academic stress. Academic pressure is often a significant source of psychological burden for university students, Affecting their mental health and emotional stability. This study aims to explore the strategies used by students to maintain inner balance amidst demanding academic responsibilities. A descriptive Qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews with ten students from various Departments at a public university. The findings reveal that students cope with stress through several methods, such as meditation, religious practices, time management, and social support from family and peers. The study also found that students with strong self-awareness and environmental support are more likely to maintain emotional stability. It concludes that mental health efforts within campus life should not rest solely on individual responsibility but also require systemic support from Educational institutions. These results are expected to serve as input for universities to provide Spaces and policies that support students' psychological well-being in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Building balance and maintaining mental health in the waves of challenges faced by students is an important issue that requires serious attention. The level of student stress is closely related to the motivation to learn and the academic pressure they experience in campus life. This includes developing awareness and skills to face challenges and maintain emotional balance. The method we use is a descriptive qualitative method that aims to understand students’ perceptions of a particular phenomenon. Data collection techniques are carried out using semi-structured interview guidelines so that the data obtained are more focused and in-depth. The data sources used in this study were students of UIN Syekh Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. Students use various strategies to maintain their mental well-being, ranging from being active, such as exercising, worshiping, and managing time, to telling close friends and family and seeking social support. Strengthening social support is also an important solution. Campuses need to build supportive communities through the formation of discussion groups, support groups, or healthy student organization activities. Students from difficult economic backgrounds must also receive special attention through adequate social scholarships and financial assistance. The results of the study show that many students face high mental and emotional burdens, which have an impact on learning motivation, social relations, and mental health. This study emphasizes the importance of institutional support and a campus environment that is responsive to students’ psychosocial needs in order to create a more humane and sustainable educational ecosystem.
