Abstract

This study aims to determine the fumigant effect of citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) and lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) essential oils against the red flour beetle (Tribolium castaneum). This research was carried out at the Basic Laboratory of Samudra University and the Agrotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Samudra University, Langsa City, Aceh Province, which took place from February to March 2021. Using a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL). The results showed that the fumigant effect of citronella essential oil, treatment S5 (3.2% v/v) caused T. castaneum mortality of 93.75%, fumigant effect of lemongrass essential oil in treatment D5 (5.4% v/v). ) caused T. castaneum mortality of 92.5%. In the repellency test of citronella and lemongrass essential oils, treatments S5 and D5 (25%) were effective as repellents for T. castaneum at 24 hours after treatments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengetahui pengaruh beberapa kultivar dan sistem olah tanah terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi padi gogo. Serta mengetahui interaksi antara keduanya terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman padi gogo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Samudra yang berlangsung selama lima bulan yang dimulai dari bulan Oktober 2022 sampai bulan Maret 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), pola factorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu Faktor kultivar padi gogo yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu: K1: Arias Putih, K2: Sileso dan K3: Sibengkok. Faktor sistem olah tanah yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu: T0: Tanpa Olah Tanah, T1: Olah Tanah Minimum dan T2: Olah Tanah Maksimum. Parameter yang diamati dalam pelitian ini yaitu tinggi tanaman umur (14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 84 HST), jumlah anakan umur (14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 84 HST), jumlah anakan produktif, umur keluar malai, Panjang malai, umur panen, produksi per tanaman dan produksi per plot.

Abstract

Penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh bobot bulbil dan perbandingan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan bibit porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Lahan Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Samudra dengan ketinggian tempat ± 10 mdpl dan pH 5,6 Penelitian berlangsung dari bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2022. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor, yaitu faktor Berat Bulbil (B), yang terdiri dari 5 taraf, yaitu : B1 = ≤ 2,5 gr/ bulbil, B2 = 2,6 - 5 gr/ bulbil, B3 = 5,1 – 7,5 gr/ bulbil, B4 = 7,6 - 10 gr/ bulbil dan B5= >10 gr/ bulbil, dan faktor Perbandingan Media Tanam (P), yaitu perbandingan Top Soil (TS), Pupuk Kandang (PK), dan Arang Sekam (AS), yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu:P1 = TS: PK: AS = 1:0:0, P2 = TS: PK: AS = 1:1:1, P3 = TS: PK: AS = 2:1:1 dan P4 = TS: PK: AS = 3:2:1. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini antara lain tinggi bibit, diameter batang,jumlah daun dan luas daun.

Abstract

This study aims to explore endophytic fungi found on the leaves of healthy rubber plants and determine their antagonistic potential against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides leaf fall disease in vitro using Potato Dextrose Agar media with the Dual Culture method. Almost all parts of the rubber plant can be infected with a number of plant diseases, one of which attacks the leaves. Leaf fall disease can be detrimental because fallen leaves can cause plant growth to be inhibited, and sap or latex production will decrease and can even result in death of the plant. An alternative to controlling diseases that have attacked widely is to use biological control by exploration. Exploration is carried out to obtain beneficial biological control materials and is the first step in the implementation of biological control techniques. The research was conducted using a Non-Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely by using PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) solid media consisting of 4 replicates, as the treatment was an isolate of endophytic fungi from exploration and the isolate tested for antagonism was the Colletotrichum gloeosporioides fungus. The results of the percentage of inhibition on endophytic fungus isolates that are able to inhibit or suppress the growth of the mycelium of the C. gloeosporioides fungus with values ranging from 40% are only found in endophytic fungus isolate C (Arthobotrys Corda) in the P3 treatment with an average percentage inhibition of 40.94% which is included in the criteria for a medium percentage of inhibition.
