Abstract

Kajian ini mencoba menelaah peranan situs sejarah sebagai perekat kerukunan bangsa di tengah kemasakinian yang begitu problematis. Sejarah adalah hasil rekonstruksi cipta, rasa, karsa, dan karya manusia masa lalu, namun bagaimana memosisikan situs sejarah agar tetap berperan bagi masa depan suatu bangsa. Situs sejarah mengandung berbagai emosi di dalamnya yang harus dinarasikan. Sejarah membangkitkan keinsyafan akan dimensi ruang dan waktu yang sangat esensial dalam eksistensi manusia. Penelitian ini dirancang secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan alamiah, ditunjang studi pustaka, dengan menempatkan peneliti sebagai instrumen kunci. Pengambilan sampel secara purposive, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi, analisis data bersifat kualitatif interpretatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatkan situs sejarah sebagai sumber belajar dan media penghubung adalah sesuatu yang sangat strategis di tengah dinamika masyarakat yang mengarah ke arah bebas sekat. Situs sejarah dapat berperan sebagai media yang menghubungkan masa kini dengan masa lalu. Situs sejarah dapat dijadikan sebagai simbol perekat kerukunan bangsa. Sebagai simbol kerukunan, situs sejarah mengandung nilai dan makna simbolik, informatif, estetik, dan ekonomi dalam upaya membangun masa depan bangsa yang lebih baik.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Jigsaw cooperative learning model using hero image media to improve the character and learning outcomes in Social Studies (History) among Grade VIII-C students of SMP Negeri 2 Denpasar in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research focuses on enhancing students' character and academic achievement. The study employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on Arikunto's model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 15 Grade VIII-C students. The results revealed improvements from Cycle I to Cycle II, with the number of students categorized as having "high" character increasing from 5 to 14, and students achieving the minimum passing grade (KKM) increasing from 11 to 14, with the average score rising from 78 to 82.6. The conclusion of this study is that the Jigsaw learning model based on hero image media significantly enhances students' character and learning outcomes in Social Studies (History).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find problems in implementing the MBKM curriculum, which is a new curriculum, implemented by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to provide students with independence in organizing their study time. However, there are several challenges in its implementation in the History Education Study Program, FKIP, Mahasaraswati University, Denpasar. This type of research is qualitative with a phenomonological approach. The data collection technique in this research went through the stages of observation, source interviews, and documentation collection. Testing the validity of the data by reducing the data, explaining the data, and drawing conclusions. This research produces data related to the problems experienced in implementing MBKM, namely 1) Limited human resources (lecturers and support staff) to guide and accompany students optimally in organizing study time. The ratio of lecturers and students is not appropriate. 2) Limited supporting infrastructure for the Independent Learning program such as laboratories, libraries and other supporting facilities. 3) Student independence is still low in organizing study time effectively and efficiently according to the expected competencies. 4) Lack of flexible curriculum readiness to accommodate various individual student learning needs. 5) The assessment and evaluation system is not yet optimal for measuring the achievement of the expected competencies from the Merdeka Belajar program. Therefore, systemic improvement efforts are needed to optimize the implementation of the MBKM Curriculum in the History Education Study Program, FKIP, Mahasaraswati University, Denpasar.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a learning model Brainstorming, Exploring, Talking about, Applying (BETA) which is effective for every online and offline learning process and a combination of both. The research personnel involved 3 lecturers and 8 students from the English Language Education study program and the History Education study program, FKIP Mahasaraswati University Denpasar. Method research and development (R&D) is used to develop the BETA learning model. Research on the development of the BETA model has been carried out in several stages, namely model development, model testing and implementation of the learning model in the classroom as well as implementation of the BETA model through E- Learning. The BETA model can be implemented by teachers well in the classroom according to the stages of implementing the model, so that students' critical thinking abilities can be improved. It is hoped that research can be carried out on an ongoing basis to apply the BETA learning model in other schools with the aim of introducing the learning model widely in society so that it can improve students' critical thinking abilities. Developing E-Learning better so that it can reach all groups of teachers and students who use E-Learning.

Abstract

Upacara Ngaben atau disebut juga upacara Pelebon merupakan salah satu upacara keagamaan yang dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat Hindu yang memiliki arti melebur, yaitu kembalinya raga (stula sarira) kepada Panca Maha Bhuta (lima unsur dasar yang menyusun mikrokosmos/manusia). Pelaksanaan upacara Ngaben pada masyarakat Hindu, khususnya di Bali memiliki keunikan tersendiri, sebab masing-masing masyarakat adat memiliki perbedaan dalam memaknai Ngaben, termasuk masyarakat desa adat Penglipuran yang memiliki perspektif tersendiri. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Terdapat tiga tahapan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu melalui tahap observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Adapun objek penelitian ini terletak di desa Penglipuran, Bangli. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah mengenai fenomena upacara Ngaben yang dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat adat Penglipuran yang termasuk dalam suku Bali Aga yang dipercaya merupakan suku asli Bali yang mendiami wilayah Bali sebelum kedatangan suku Bali Majapahit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi pelaksanaan upacara Ngaben pada masyarakat Bali Majapahit dilakukan melalui tradisi pembakaran jenazah. Sedangkan pada masyarakat Bali Aga, khususnya di desa Penglipuran tidak selalu dilakukan dengan mengadakan prosesi pembakaran jenazah, melainkan dengan melakukan prosesi penguburan mayat. Hal ini berkaitan dengan kepercayaan masyarakat adat Penglipuran bahwa melebur atau penduduk lokal menyebutnya dengan istilah ‘ngelebur’ memiliki esensi bahwa melalui prosesi penguburan jenazah, pada akhirnya tetap akan mengembalikan raga kepada Panca Maha Bhuta.

Abstract

Students’ critical thinking skill is vividly crucial to be developed to enable students to solve various problems in nowadays life. Objectives: This study investigates the brainstorming strategy employed by teachers in the classroom to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. Methods: This study employed a qualitative research approach conducted in a senior high school consisting of 30 teachers and 4 teachers were selected as the research participants. The data were collected by conducting semi-structured interviews and classroom observations. The data were analyzed descriptively to establish valid and reliable findings. Findings: This study found that teachers intensively used the brainstorming method in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills by asking various challenging questions to arouse students’ critical skills. Conclusions: the Findings of this study revealed the importance of conducting brainstorming strategies during the learning activities. Moreover, this study implies teachers should utilize the brainstorming method more intensively to develop students’ critical thinking skills. Keywords: brainstorming, strategy, teachers, promote, critical, skill.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i2.202243
