Compromised sleep detrimentally impacts older adults, leading to daytime sleepiness, heightened fall risks, and cognitive decline. Demonstrates promising therapy in enhancing sleep quality and reducing fatigue through laughter therapy cards. Objective: The study aimed to construct and test the effect of laughter cards on improving the sleep quality of old adults in Lubuklinggau City, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Method: This quantitative study was conducted with a quasi-experimental approach. A total of 32 participants took part in this study, of which 32 participants attended laughter therapies with laughter therapy cards in 1 month by doing activities in laughter therapy four times in 1 month, each 45 minutes, before and after laughter therapies are assessed by PSQI score. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients used were 0.81. The paired t-test was used to determine the data statistically. Result: Before and after therapies showed different values of PSQI score. PSQI score of older adults before treatments (10.50), became (7.68) after therapies, and had a statistically significant p 0.001. Recommendation: Continuous laughter therapies are non-pharmacological therapy for older adults with a sleep disorder

Abstract

A sudden stop in heart function is called cardiac arrest, and if CPR is not administered right away, it can be life-threatening. CPR training and education are required to boost both the quantity and quality of bystander CPR. In this study, the impact of CPR training on the CPR skills of Lubuklinggau City scout members will be examined. A quasi-experimental design with a pre- and post-test methodology was implemented in this study. A CPR mannequin was utilized as a simulation instrument in CPR training. A purposive sampling technique was used to collect samples from seventy-two scout members. The PPNI CPR SOP checklist used to assess the subject's CPR performance. A paired t-test was used to analyze the data, and the results showed that CPR training significantly improved the skills of scout members (t = -49.343, p value = 0.0001). Based on the analysis and discussion results, it can be said that scout members' abilities to perform CPR are positively impacted by CPR training that uses the simulation method.

Abstract

Abstract

Scabies remains a health concern in pesantren due to close physical contact and shared facilities, which increase transmission risk. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes and scabies prevention behavior among students at Pondok Pesantren Modern Daarul Abror. A cross-sectional design was employed, involving 126 students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire (Cronbach’s α > 0.70) and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation. Results showed that the majority of students were female (57.1%) and had resided in the dormitory for more than one year. Most students demonstrated adequate knowledge (74.2%; mean score 7.00 ± 2.02), adequate attitudes (79.0%; 21.63 ± 2.56), and adequate prevention behavior (71.4%; 28.35 ± 2.70). Correlation analysis revealed a significant positive association between knowledge and preventive behavior (r = 0.243; p = 0.006), as well as between attitudes and preventive behavior (r = 0.189; p = 0.034), whereas demographic factors showed no significant effect. These findings highlight that individual psychological factors play a more important role than demographic characteristics in shaping prevention behavior. Strengthening structured health education and promotion programs in pesantren is recommended to improve knowledge and foster positive attitudes toward scabies prevention.
