Abstract

A strong earthquake is an earthquake that emits very strong energy with a strength of more than 5 on the Richter scale that causes buildings to vibrate for some time. The natural period of the building is the length of time the building vibrates when the earthquake occurs until the earthquake stops which results in the risk of damage and even collapse of the building. One of the buildings that experienced the collapse was due to having a small natural period of the building so that the building was unable to withstand the vibrations caused by the earthquake to the maximum. To minimize the risk of collapse in buildings during an earthquake, one of them is planning an earthquake-resistant building by using a base isolator in order to increase the period of the structure so that it is able to soak up vibrations and slow down the movement of buildings that are excited by the earthquake. The purpose of this study was to determine the natural period of the building and the effect of using a base isolator when an earthquake occurred. The method used in this study is to plan buildings without base isolators and buildings with base isolators and analyze using the SAP2000 v.14 auxiliary program. The results of this study showed that the natural period of the building with Base Isolator in 3D increased 1.59 times for the X direction and 1.63 times for the Y direction. And the effect was a decrease in the displacement of the structure for the period by 66%, 46%, and 41% based on the three earthquake records.

Abstract

Education is the key to success in improving the quality of human life. With a good education, every person can develop well their capacities so that they can be usefull for themselves and their society. However, not all people are able to access and enjoy the right to education which is the responsibility of the government. Sekolah Alam Taman Siswa Pesisir is here to provide volunteers to help with learning for fishermen's children to learn to read and write and educate national character. However, the learning space facilities for students are still not feasible and unsafe because they are located on the former back of a fishing boat which is already fragile and has no roof. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the learning space facilities so that they become more conducive and optimize to the teaching and learning process so that it is beneficial for students and teachers as well as the community around the school in Sekolah Alam Taman Siswa Pesisir Cilincing, North Jakarta.

Abstract

Kontruksi perkerasan jalan salah satu unsur penting dalam rangka kelancaran transportasi darat sehingga memberikan keamanan dan kenyamanan bagi penggunanya, sehingga kontruksi perkerasan jalan perlu direncanakan dengan baik berdasarkan standar dan kriteria perencanaan yang berlaku di Indonesia. Lapis perkerasan jalan mampu untuk mendukung dan menyebarkan beban lalu lintas baik beban vertikal maupun horizontal/gaya gesek, kedap air, menyediakan permukaan yang tetap rata, serta membentuk permukaan yang tetap licin. Jalan Lingkar Luar Km 13+512 - Km 18+401 Kota Palangka Raya merupakan ruas jalan dengan jalur tidak padat akan tetapi jalan ini salah satu jalan alternatif menuju Kabupaten Tangkiling. Jalan Lingkar Luar pada Km 13+512 - Km 18+401 Kota Palangka Raya pada awalnya struktur badan jalan belum dapat dilewati kendaraan lalu lintas, sehingga perlu peningkatan struktur. Berdasarkan perhitugan perkerasan lentur dari kedua metode yaitu : Metode Perencanaan Tebal Perkerasan Lentur Jalan Raya Dengan Metode Analisa Komponen (SKBI–2.3.26.1987) adalah sebagai berikut : Lapis Permukaan 8 cm ; Lapis Pondasi Atas 19,75 cm ; Lapis Pondasi Bawah 10 cm.

Abstract

Dalam membangun bangunan tempat tinggal seperti rumah sederhana, keberadaan atap menjadi syarat utama yang harus ada. Salah satu kriteria atap rumah yang baik adalah bahannya bagus sehingga tahan terhadap cuaca, tahan lapuk, dan tidak mudah mengalami penyusutan (memuai atau melengkung). Umumnya atap rumah terbuat dari kayu yang dinilai lebih kuat, di sisi lain situasi yang terjadi saat ini adalah kondisi hutan sebagai kawasan penghasil kayu terus memburuk karena tereksploitasi penggunaannya. Hal ini juga berdampak pada kualitas kayu yang kuat sehingga semakin sulit didapat dan harganya pun melambung tinggi. Perkembangan teknologi di bidang bahan bangunan telah memungkinkan untuk menggunakan material baja ringan untuk atap rumah. Baja ringan semakin banyak digunakan untuk atap perumahan karena tahan cuaca, stabil secara dimensi, dan tidak mudah lapuk dimakan rayap. Dari segi ekonomi, harga atap rumah baja ringan relatif lebih murah jika dibandingkan dengan harga atap rumah kayu dengan spesifikasi sebanding. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan penggunaan baja ringan sebagai pengganti kayu pada konstruksi atap rumah kepada mahasiswa. Metode pelaksanaan PKM ini adalah pemberian materi terdiri dari pengenalan terkait dengan industri baja ringan, manfaat penggunaan baja ringan, dan tipe-tipe baja ringan. Hasil evaluasi dari PKM ini adalah dengan sesi tanya jawab antara mahasiswa dengan pemateri untuk memberikan pengetahuan yang lebih luas diluar materi yang telah diberikan. Dengan adanya kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan dapat memperdalam pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai alternatif atap rumah kayu dan memberikan pengetahuan lebih dalam mengenai manfaat atap baja ringan.

Abstract

A very important factor in increasing agricultural production is irrigation. With an irrigation system, we can irrigate plants in the right amount and time, so that plants can grow well and can produce optimally. In planning an irrigation system, the first thing that needs to be done is a hydrological analysis including the water demand in the fields (GFR), the demand for water intake (DR), the clean water requirement in the fields (NFR) as well as the water availability factor, where the amount of water demand will determine the amount of water needed. irrigation building planning. In this study, rainfall analysis was carried out, Rainfall Data Consistency Test, Mainstay Rainfall and Effective Rainfall, Calculation of Planting Water Needs, Rotational Water Distribution System and Rotational Hours. water distribution system in the irrigation area of Citarik Village, Pelabuhan Ratu District, Sukabumi Regency. The results of the research show that the water needs for plants have been met with the results of the calculation of the planned discharge with a planned q of 1.776 lt/sec/ha with an area of 150 ha and irrigation efficiency 60% = 1.776/0.60 = 2.961 lt/sec/ha x 150 ha = 444.22 lt/sec. Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah anorganik menjadi isu lingkungan yang semakin penting di Indonesia, khususnya di daerah padat penduduk seperti TPST Widatama yang terletak di Karawaci, Kota Tangerang. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengelolaan sampah anorganik di TPST Widatama, mencakup tantangan utama dalam pengelolaan, volume dan jenis sampah yang diterima, dampak positif dan negatif pengolahan sampah terhadap lingkungan dan masyarakat, serta teknologi yang digunakan dalam proses tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, dokumentasi, dan kuesioner. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa TPST Widatama menerima rata-rata 25-30 ton sampah anorganik setiap bulan, dengan jenis sampah dominan seperti plastik, kaca, dan logam. Pengolahan sampah anorganik memberikan dampak positif, seperti pengurangan volume sampah yang masuk ke TPA, menciptakan bahan baku daur ulang, dan membuka peluang lapangan pekerjaan. Namun, masih terdapat dampak negatif, seperti potensi pencemaran lingkungan dan gangguan kesehatan jika tidak dikelola dengan baik. Proses pemilahan dan pengolahan sampah di TPST Widatama masih dilakukan secara manual, dengan potensi untuk diterapkan teknologi yang lebih efisien dan ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan ini merekomendasikan untuk meningkatkan edukasi masyarakat, memperkuat infrastruktur, dan mengembangkan teknologi yang lebih ramah lingkungan dalam pengelolaan sampah anorganik. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dasar untuk merumuskan kebijakan yang lebih efektif dalam pengelolaan sampah anorganik di masa depan.

Abstract

The production of cement, as the primary material in concrete manufacturing, significantly contributes to global carbon emissions. To mitigate this impact, one of the solutions being developed is the use of natural or artificial pozzolanic materials as partial substitutes for cement. Rice Husk Ash (RHA) is an agricultural waste rich in amorphous silica and holds great potential as a local pozzolanic material in Indonesia. The review results show that using RHA in the range of 10–20% can enhance the compressive strength and improve concrete resistance to aggressive environments. The effectiveness of RHA is highly influenced by the fineness of its particles and the combustion process. Considering its availability and environmental impact, RHA has great potential as an eco-friendly material solution for construction based on local resources.

Abstract

Fires are disasters that can occur in industries, public facilities, and schools. Fires in schools are an aspect that is often overlooked for assessment, prevention, and control. This service method was carried out through activities to socialize the dangers of fire, the components of fire extinguishers, and the use of fire extinguishers to 8 teachers and 21 students. As a form of evaluation, a pretest and post-test were conducted for this activity. The results of the post-test and pre-test evaluations showed a significant difference in scores before and after the socialization activities were conducted. The analysis of each question revealed that the highest percentage of correct answers was related to the danger of electricity as a cause of fires, while the question about the steps for using an APAR received the lowest percentage of correct answers. The community service activities went well, and both teachers and students understood the outreach activities that had been conducted. It is necessary to conduct regular outreach activities on the use of fire extinguishers and open flames, establish safe muster points, and carry out evacuation simulation activities in the next community service activities.
