Abstract

Initially, exports were perceived as the prestige and dignity of a nation. However, in terms of terminology, the essence of export flows is complementarity between countries, where each party has advantages, competition and excess production of a particular product to offer. The orientation of this study is to examine the relationship between tobacco exports, coffee exports, and wine exports to GDP growth in Italy–Indonesia. There are key variables which are divided into two case studies including tobacco export volume, FoB on tobacco exports, coffee export volume, FoB on coffee exports, green grape export volume, CIF on green grape exports, red wine export volume, CIF on red wine exports, GDP share of agriculture in Indonesia and Italy. The fundamental difference in wine exports from the two is that Indonesia uses green grapes and for Italy it uses red wine. The method is set through a panel data regression approach and samples for the 2013–2021. The econometric results explain that tobacco exports and coffee exports have a significant effect on the GDP share of agriculture in Indonesia–Italy. Likewise, CIF on exports of green grapes and red wines which have a significant effect on the GDP share of agriculture in both nations. These findings inspire more urgent implications for the topic of agricultural commodity exports and become an integrated whole.

Abstract

Environmental changes in an area have shaped the character of the community. A growing culture always determines the economic, social, and environmental development that faces the extent to which per capita welfare can increase. This study tries to concentrate on the description of socio-economic life, the level of education, and the extent to which the condition is with the level of public education. The method is qualitative with the technique of Miles & Huberman (1994). The objectivity of the study lies in ketupat craft-workers in “Kampung Ketupat” (Samarinda Seberang District), where we focused through in-depth interviews during August 2020 - September 2021 with 55 informants. We found that the socio-economic conditions of the craftworkers were still low. Broadly, the educational level of ketupat craftworkers is also low. We can see this from the basic education of those who do not go to school and, on average, only reach the junior high school (SMP) level. There is a tendency that the higher the economic and educational level of children of ketupat craft-workers, can be the key to success amid today’s global competition. The findings have implications for highlighting vital factors such as income, social, and education that could have a significant impact on the revitalization of their well-being.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic nation known as a maritime area with natural riches in fisheries, such as marine biota and marine tourism. Since 1952, the progress of Bontang Kuala City has been supported by various industrial centers that utilize fishery products. This study aims to study financial aspects, including income, expenses, efficiency, and profits in the salted fish processing business managed by residents who live around the coastal area of Bontang City. The instruments applied to analyze data are analysis of business efficiency, costs, revenues, and profits. The objectivity of the study relies on the method of direct interviews with informants. The study results show that the average fixed and variable monthly costs, average revenue, and average monthly profit are "very efficient." Even though the RCR in the salted fish processing business in Bontang Kuala is classified as "efficient", obstacles still lead to entrepreneurs' prosperity and the allocation of supporting equipment. The implications of the findings are discussed and explored in subsequent publications. The study's results also inspire and dedicate significant contributions to the direction of more adaptive stakeholder regulations in the future.
