Abstract

The potential of our energy sources in Indonesia is getting thinner day by day. Energy sources that come from fossils if we take it continuously will run out and cannot be renewed. Therefore, it is necessary to have an alternative source of renewable energy, one of the renewable energies to replace fossil energy, is wood biomass. One of the woods that can be used as a renewable energy source is Kaliandra wood (Calliandra calothyrsus). Calliandra (Calliandra callothyrsus) is a type of tree that can grow throughout the year. The problem faced in generative breeding of Kaliandra is the low seed germination caused by Kaliandra seeds having hard seed dormancy, and the skin has a waxy coating. To overcome the problem of meeting the needs of Kaliandra wood in energy resources, vegetative propagation of plants is needed, one of which is stem cuttings. This study aims to determine the level of effectiveness of the successful growth of Kaliandra stem cuttings using various concentrations of growth regulator Rootone F. The research method used is quantitative by conducting various experiments, namely treatment of Kaliandra stem cuttings without treatment, treatment using Rootone-f hormone with concentration (100 ppm), and treatment using the hormone Rootone-f with a concentration (200 ppm). The results showed that the number of shoots and the number of leaves were the same in each treatment, namely 1 shoot. The length of shoots in the Rootone F hormone treatment with a concentration of 100 (ppm), produced the largest shoot length of 0.71 cm, the percentage of life in the Rootone F hormone treatment with a concentration of 100 ( ppm) was 6.67%, and the root length of Kaliandra cuttings on Rootone F hormone treatment with a concentration of 100 (ppm) produced the largest 0.25 cm.

Abstract

One of the concrete efforts made by the Indonesian government is through social forestry policy as a trigger for land conflicts. One area that has implemented a pattern of social forestry is a forest area located in the management area of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit(UPTD) KPHRegion I Meranti located in Musi Banyuasin Regency. Only 3 social forestry scheme permits have been issued. So the aims of this study was to find out and analyze the process of implementing social forestry policy and analyze the factors that influence. The study was conducted in Pangkalan Bulian and Lubuk Bintialo Villages, Batang Hari Leko District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. Used descriptive method combined (mixed methods) from two different approaches namely quantitative or qualitative approaches. Funding and staff resources (human resources) are still lacking. The process of collective action between actors is running well with the existence of a committed PPS Working Group. Technical rules are clear with the existence of SOPs that are derived from the rules of government and local government.Communication goes well between communities (Forest farmer groups and cooperative members) - local government and facilitators, but not so well between government structures (village heads and apparatus and local government. The Social forestry policy in Musi Banyuasin District, South Sumatra has been effectively implemented from the perspective of policy accuracy in resolving forestry problems and environmental accuracy in accepting policies.

Abstract

The management of urban forests is for the preservation, harmony and balance of urban ecosystems which include environmental, social and cultural elements. The existence of urban forests is considered important to balance activities in urban areas. The Government of Prabumulih City determines the City Forest in accordance with the Decree of the Mayor of Prabumulih No. 202/KPTS/PERTA/2010 concerning the designation of the location of the urban forest, Prabumulih City has an urban forest of ± 10 Ha in Pangkul Village, Cambai District, Prabumulih City. This research was conducted to find out the perception of visitors to the existence of the Pebuingan Prabumulih City Forest, Pangkul Village, Cambai District, Prabumulih City and find out the factors that influence visitor’s perceptions of the existence of the Pebuingan Prabumulih City Forest. This research was carried out in the Pebuingan Prabumulih City Forest from June to July 2021. The research method used is a survey method with a qualitative approach and the object of research is that visitors come to the Pebuingan Prabumulih City Forest for certain purposes or with unintentional purposes. The data collection method used in research was direct observation and interviews with respondents by using previously prepared questionnaires and data obtained from related institutions. The data processing method used was descriptive qualitative analysis, then used a Likert scale in its calculations. The results showed that visitor’s perceptions of the existence of the Pebuingan Prabumulih City Forest, Pangkul Village, Cambai District, Prabumulih City were included in very good criteria that can be seen from the level of measurement of the score of visitors' perceptions of the existence of the Pebuingan Prabumulih City Forest as seen from the ecological, aesthetic, social and economic functions with a percentage of 88.60%.

Abstract

The Sungai Merah Protection Forest is close to community settlements. As the population increases, the need for arable land will also increase, so that many people cultivate protected forests into arable land in the form of plantations. On this basis, through the NTFP development program with a community empowerment pattern, it is hoped that protected forests can provide social and economic functions for the community while still paying attention to their ecological functions. In preparing the NTFP development program it is not yet known and there is no data on potential NTFPs that can be developed. This study aims to inventory and identify the types of each non-timber forest product species recorded (classification and nomenclature, morphological characteristics and the beneficial value of the species) of non-timber forest products (HHBK) in the Sungai Merah Protection Forest. The sampling method was carried out by purposive sampling. The selection of samples is based on classification or cluster based on the classification of land cover types resulting from the interpretation of images using GIS software. The sampling intensity to be used is 0.1%. The plot size to be used refers to the guidelines for surveying natural forests and community cultivated plants, namely a plot area of 0.1 ha with a rectangular plot shape (20x50) meters. Rectangular plot shape 20 x 50 m (0.1 ha). the results of data analysis on NTFP secondary forest were dominated by shuji plants, the highest Relative Density (KR), Relative Frequency (FR) and Importance Value Index (INP), namely 28.72%, 20.14% and 48.86 respectively %., while the plantation area was dominated by rubber plants with density, frequency, and dominance of 80.00, 0.25, and 18003.10. This shows the important role of these plants in the protected forest area of the Red River.

This research was carried out to determine the implementation of social forestry. One of the areas that has implemented the social forestry pattern is the forest area in the management area of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) KPH Region XIII Lakitan Bukit Cogong which is located in Musi Rawas Regency.. So the aim of This research aims to determine the process of implementing social forestry policies and determine the influencing factors. The research was conducted at HKM Wana Manunggal, Sukakarya Village, Musi Rawas Regency, using a qualitative descriptive approach method. Based on the data analyzed, financial resources are still lacking and human resources (staff) are sufficient.
