Abstract

Many people talked about Gibran’s step to be a vice president. The Constitutional Court changed some rules for vice president before Gibran was declared as Prabowo’s vice president candidate which head of court is his uncle. The national committee of general election presented vice president debate which each candidate will show the ideas or attack other candidates’ statement. This research used stylistics in identifying Gibran’s language style. The researcher writes the words, phrases and sentences in six segments from youtube with title “RONDE 4! Debat Cawapres 2024. The result indicates that Gibran used repetition, alliteration and anti-climax repeating his ideas. Then, he used satire, cynicism and rhetoric attacking his opposite candidates. Gibran described his programs strongly and explained his ideas assertively. Candidate’s style in this debate is very important for make sure that the voters get the ideas and understanding the candidate’s standing point.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Village Financial System (SISKEUDES) in improving the quality of financial reports in Parak Village, Bontomanai District, Selayar Islands Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques consisting of interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants included the Village Head, Village Treasurer, and financial staff who serve as SISKEUDES application operators. The findings indicate that the implementation of SISKEUDES has had a significant impact on the five stages of village financial management, namely planning, budgeting, administration, reporting, and accountability. The system produces financial information that is relevant, reliable, comparable, and understandable in accordance with the qualitative characteristics of financial statements as stated in the Government Accounting Standards (SAP). Thus, the quality of village financial reports has improved significantly, while strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance at the village level.

Abstract

Accent anxiety can hinder English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students’ public speaking performance, particularly when learners anticipate negative judgment, social exclusion, or reduced intelligibility. This study compared accent anxiety across three speaking contexts, face-to-face, online, and virtual, among 183 undergraduates from three universities in Makassar, Indonesia. Using a quantitative between-subjects design, participants were randomly assigned to one context and completed an oral reading task followed by the Accent Anxiety Scale (AAS). Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses supported the three-dimensional structure of the scale, consisting of fear of negative evaluation, fear of intergroup rejection, and intelligibility concerns. Reliability coefficients for the total scale and subscales were satisfactory. One-way ANOVA showed a significant difference in anxiety across contexts, with the highest mean in the face-to-face group and the lowest mean in the virtual group. Tukey post-hoc comparisons indicated significant differences among all three groups. These findings suggest that delivery context shapes how accent anxiety is experienced and that virtual practice environments may provide a useful preparatory stage before live presentations. For pronunciation and public speaking courses, a staged sequence from virtual rehearsal to online and face-to-face performance may help reduce anxiety while maintaining communicative practice
