Abstract

This study was conducted to know the effectiveness of song lyric text on students’ vocabulary mastery at SMPI Al Ikhlash Kasembon in seventh grade. This study used pre-experimental research design with one experimental group only. The population in this research was seventh grade of SMPI Al Ikhlash Kasembon Malang consisting 24 students. The researcher used pre-test and post-test in multiple choice consisting 21 items format then the data was analyzed by t-test using SPPS version 30.After collecting data, the calculation of the data resulted the average (mean) score of pre-test and post-test.The mean score of pre-test was 25.0 with standard deviation was 14.166. Meanwhile, the mean score of post-test was 76.0 with standard deviation was 25.160. In testing hypothesis, the researcher used t-test formula. The result of t-test is -10.345 at the level of significance of DF is 23 and the Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.00 at the 95% confidence interval of the difference. Based on SPSS, the result is 0.00<0.05. The Sig. (2-tailed) was lower than 0.05 so it means that there was significant between pre-test and post-test. So, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis could be accepted. It means that the using of Song lyric text give positive effect to the students’ vocabulary. Abstract

This study was conducted to know the effectiveness of using ZIZO strategy on students’s reading comprehension in descriptive text according to Karen D. Wood and Janis M. Harmon (2001; 53). This research used quantitative approach with pre-experimental research design. The population of this research was the first grade of Islamic Senior High School Al Wahid Kepung. The sample of this research was X IPA class consisting 20 students. The research instrument was pre-test and post-test with the format of multiple choices consisting 20 items pre-test and post-test. The data analyze by t-test using SPSS version 30. The result of the analysis showed that mean of pre-test was 72.00. And the result of the mean of post-test was 83.25. So, the result of the research was stating that applying using ZIZO strategy in teaching reading comprehension was effective. It was proved by the significant different score of student’s reading comprehension before and after taught by using ZIZO strategy. The significance value was 0.000 and the significance level was 0.05. it means that the significance value was smaller than significance level (0.000 < 0.05). So, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It means that the using of ZIZO strategy gives positive effect to the students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

PPL is a practical program that aims to develop professional students by applying their knowledge, attitudes, and skills. This program requires students to integrate their previous learning experiences into teaching activities and other tasks in order to gain practical experience in managing an educational institution. Through this program, students have the opportunity to directly engage with the conditions of an educational institution and gain new experiences that complement their theoretical knowledge. The goal of this teaching practice program can give some advantages for the students, the MA Al-Fatah institutions, and the Islamic Institute of Hasanuddin Pare. This research is conducted through a field study by using a qualitative descriptive method, which involves describing research of the data through word explanations. The data is collected through observations and teaching activities carried out by students of the English Tadris study program. The practical Field Experience of Islamic Institue of Hasanuddin Pare 2022-2023 is done on December 6th 2022 – February 4th 2023 at Islamic Senior High School Al –fatah Badas Pare.
