Abstract

In this paper the number of  humans infected with cholera was controlled under the uncertainty in cholera model parameters. The aim of this research is to design an adaptive control so that the number of infected humans decreases. To achieve this goal, an adaptive controller was proposed to a deterministic model for the transmission of cholera involving five state variables (susceptible humans, infected humans, quarantined humans, recovered humans, and bacterial concentration) and one input control variable, i.e, the proportion of quarantined humans. A control law was designed such that the number of infected humans was decreased tracking the given reference function. The tracking error convergence were analyzed by employing the  Lyapunov theorem. The performance of the proposed controller was evaluated through numerical simulations. The results show that the adaptive controller designed to the model ensures the tracking error convergence such that the number of infected humans has declined.

Abstract

Public relations strategy in an era of increasingly rapid business growth, especially in the field of Hajj and Umrah travel agencies, which creates new problems in the form of mushrooming fraud cases. These cases raise concerns for prospective pilgrims about choosing and trusting Hajj and Umrah travel agencies. In practice, PT Freshnel Kreasindo Perkasa Yogyakarta carries out strategies to continue to stand strong amidst business competition and the rise of fraud cases so that the company's image and consumer trust can continue to be built and maintained. This research aims to find out how public relations strategies are in building the company image and trust of prospective Hajj and Umrah pilgrims at PT Freshnel Kreasindo Perkasa Yogyakarta. The theory used in this research is the PENCILS strategy theory developed by Rosady Ruslan. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research show that PT Freshnel Kreasindo Perkasa implements the PENCILS strategy in building the image and trust of prospective Hajj and Umrah pilgrims well, while the PENCILS strategy is in the form of publications, events, news, community involvement, information or image, lobbying and negotiating, and social responsibility

Abstract

In real life, due to various measurement limitations, not all variables in the dengue fever epidemic model can be measured. Therefore, a tool is needed to estimate unmeasured variables with known related variables. One method for estimating variables in nonlinear systems is the extended Kalman filter (EKF). Next, using these estimated results, optimal control will be sought in the form of vaccination to reduce the number of infections. From the simulation results, it can be concluded that state estimation with EKF for the dengue fever model is good enough to estimate each variable with measurements that are disturbed by a random variable within the selected range of disturbance covariance. Then, it was found that the smaller the standard deviation of the disturbance, the smaller the optimal control required at the start. Thus, the greater the disruption, the greater the costs spent.
