Abstract

The agricultural sector in Indonesia plays an important role in supporting food security and economic stability. However, this sector is still faced with various obstacles, one of which is limited access to capital. Baitul Maal Wa Tamwil (BMT) as an Islamic microfinance institution offers financing solutions for farmers using sharia principles, such as rahn and murabahah. This research aims to analyze the rahn and murabahah financing schemes implemented by BMT in Kanigoro, Blitar Regency, as well as their impact on agricultural businesses in the area. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with BMT administrators, rahn and murabahah financing customers, as well as other related parties. The data analysis technique was carried out using thematic analysis. BMT in Kanigoro, Blitar Regency implements rahn and murabahah financing schemes with sharia principles in accordance with the provisions of the Islamic religion. Rahn financing uses collateral, while murabahah financing uses a buying and selling system with an agreed profit margin. BMT rahn and murabahah financing has several advantages compared to conventional financing, namely: Based on sharia principles that avoid usury; Easy and fast application process; Competitive interest rates; Assistance and coaching for customers. However, BMT also faces several challenges in carrying out this financing, namely: Lack of public understanding about sharia financing; Strict requirements for applying for financing; High risk of crop failure. In conclusion, the rahn and murabahah financing offered by BMT in Kanigoro, Blitar Regency is an alternative solution for farmers in accessing capital. The implementation of this financing scheme has a positive impact on agricultural businesses and improves farmer welfare.

Abstract

Background. Koperindo East Java activities collect funds from the public in the form of savings and channel these funds back to the community in the form of credit and provide other bank services. Research Purpose. This study aims to analyze the percentage level of bad credit at Koperindo and describe Non-Performing Loans (NPL) for the last 3 years. Research Methods. This descriptive research at Koperindo East Java, Kandat District, Kediri Regency. This study used primary data sources by interviews and field observations. Researchers also used secondary data obtained through Koperindo banking documents and analyzed them using descriptive analytic methods. Findings. Bad credit is caused by internal factors and external factors in Koperindo. For 2020 it has an NPL of 7.42%, for 2021 it has an NPL of 9.97%, this shows that in 2022 NPL credit will increase by 2.25%. Because the NPL level at Koperindo East Java exceeds the policy standard, which is 5%, Koperindo emphasizes that in 2021 it will focus more on NPL so that cooperatives experience a decrease in the NPL level. So that in 2022 the NPL is 3.75% and has decreased by 6.22%. The NPL principle is “The Lower Is Better”, meaning that the smaller the NPL value, the better the soundness level of a cooperative. Conclusion. Handling bad credit problems through optimal and effective billing by the credit supervisory team and restructuring in 3 ways: extending the credit period, changing the loan system from the installment system to maturity, and confiscating collateral.

Abstract

Zakat holds profound significance in the Muslim community. Its intricate calculations and diverse categories, however, often pose challenges for individuals striving to fulfill this religious obligation accurately. This research investigates the design, development, and impact of a Zakat Calculator Application on Islamic economics students' academic performance at UNU Blitar. By leveraging technology, this study aims to bridge the gap between traditional learning methods and the evolving needs of students in grasping the complexities of zakat. ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) guided the application's creation and evaluation. A sample of 60 students from a population of 90 was selected through simple random sampling. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and an independent two-sample t-test to compare the performance of students using the application with those relying on traditional lecture and discussion methods. The Zakat Calculator Application demonstrated high validity and effectiveness. Expert evaluations yielded excellent scores (media experts: 96.25%, material and strategy experts: 95.55%, curriculum practitioners: 94.69%, lesson plan experts: 92.00%). The t-test results revealed significant improvement in academic performance for students using the application. The experimental group achieved a high academic performance level of 87.5%, compared to 50.5% in the control group. In conclusion, Zakat Calculator Application effectively enhances the academic performance of Islamic economics students. It simplifies zakat calculations, improves understanding of zakat regulations, and promotes compliance with Islamic principles.
