Abstract

The inability of students to plan is one of the causes of academic procrastination behavior. The ability to plan can emerge from within the individual, which is described in the personal growth initiative or PGI. This study was conducted to see whether there is an influence from the individual's internal as seen from the personal growth initiative on academic procrastination behavior. Academic motivation is also an interesting variable to mediate the effect of personal growth initiative on academic procrastination, especially in this study out of three types of academic motivation, external was the chosen one. So that this study is able to show the influence on the behavior of academic procrastination in terms of the inner self which is mediated by the individual outside. The study was conducted by taking samples from six universities in Surabaya, public and state universities (N = 207). Data was taken using online and offline questionnaires. The results showed that PGI did not affect academic procrastination (βc' = - 0.004) either directly or through the mediation of extrinsic academic motivation (βb = - 0.002), but the results of data analysis showed that there was an effect of PGI on extrinsic academic motivation (βa = 0.459).

The targeted sample of respondents was 74, but managed to get 96 respondents. The questionnaire used in this study was adopted through previous research and then carried out validity and reliability. The results of this study indicate that the questionnaire used is valid and reliable, then for the effect test it is found that performance appraisal affects job satisfaction directly or through motivational mediation. This research has implications especially in the managerial field that it is important for companies to pay attention to the performance appraisal process to improve the quality and capacity of employees, and most importantly also increase employee motivation and job satisfaction.

Abstract

Current digital developments encourage the world of education to also participate in developing a digitalization environment, especially in higher education. Not only in terms of the learning process, but also in the managerial process, especially in the tridharma business process. This research aims to develop higher education information systems to be more efficient and effective, especially in research business process, namely the process of data reporting and data management. The method used in this research is design thinking, which consists of the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing stages. At the empathize stage, data is collected in the form of strategic plan documents which are then mapped in the form of a business model canvas. Then a user interview is conducted which is then mapped into an empathy map. At the define stage, the results of the interview are detailed in the form of a user persona. From the results of document mapping and user interviews, we enter the ideate stage, namely making user flows and flowcharts. After validating user flow and flowcharts for the user, the prototype stage is carried out, where at this stage Balsamiq 3 tools are used to design the user interface. The results of this study indicate that the designed user interface and flow are in accordance with user needs.

Abstract

The development of an information system in the Research and Community Development Department in one of the private universities in Surabaya, which has already been developed since 2020, has not yet undergone an evaluation of user acceptance, specifically among the faculty. Furthermore, the satisfaction survey conducted has been too general so far, making it essential to evaluate the service quality of the information system provided. The research aimed to analyze user acceptance of X information system from the Research and Community Development Department. Additionally, it seeked to assess its service quality. The empirical research was quantitative by design, and data were collected from 228 faculty members. The research model was analyzed using PLS-SEM. The data analysis results indicate that all items used in the research are valid and reliable, with cross-loading values ranging from 0.837 to 0.980. Then, the Cronbach’s alpha values are greater than 0.6. It is found that out of six proposed hypotheses, four hypotheses are accepted and two hypotheses are rejected. The research finds that ease of use and usefulness influence intention to use, which increases usage behavior. The research also shows that service quality does not moderate the influence of perceived usefulness and ease of use on intention to use.

Abstract

LPPM X University is responsible for managing administration and providing research and community service data for both internal and external purposes. One of the databases managed by LPPM X University is SINTA. However, an evaluation has yet to be conducted to assess the acceptance of X University lecturers regarding the use of SINTA. This research aims to analyze the extent of X University lecturers' acceptance of SINTA. It also aims to examine the mediating effect of service quality on the acceptance of SINTA. The study employs the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with service quality as a mediating variable. The research method used is quantitative, with data collection using questionnaires and data processing using SMARTPLS 4. All variables meet the validity criteria and fulfill the construct reliability based on the collected data. The results of this study show that service quality significantly impacts the acceptance of SINTA by lecturers.

Abstract

The development of Technology 5.0 and the occurrence of COVID-19 have made the implementation of technology a crucial aspect, especially in education, particularly in the data management of higher education institutions. The Research and Community Service Institute of Ciputra University Surabaya has developed and implemented the Ciputra Education Digital Experience (CEdX) information system, but no evaluation has been conducted before. The theory used in this research is the Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM2), with the moderating variables of Service Quality (Servqual) and Service Trust. A quantitative research method is employed, with data collection using a questionnaire, and data processing using SMARTPLS 4. Based on 228 collected data, all variables meet validity criteria, with outer loading > 0.6 and fulfilling construct reliability, with Cronbach's alpha > 0.7. In the overall hypothesis testing, 7 hypotheses are accepted, and 9 hypotheses are rejected. The subjective norm variable in this study indicates no influence, possibly due to the SN context being supervisors. Furthermore, output quality and result of demonstrability also have no effect. Service trust is proven not to have a significant influence. Meanwhile, variables that do have an impact show that the ease of use and usefulness of CEdX affect the intention to use CEdX, as evidenced by the p-value of PEU and PU < 0.05. In addition, the quality of the Research and Community Service Institute's services also reinforces and increases faculty members' intention to use CEdX
