Abstract

Investigators exercise discretion to help resolve a traffic violation case where the suspect did so because of negligence that caused injury to others. Weird problems arise as a result of this discretionary act. On the one hand, this discretionary act involves the application of criminal law carried out in accordance with its own policies to make rigid laws effective. All parties have an opportunity to know their position as a legal consequence of the choice of investigators in a traffic crime case. The party committing the violation will compensate the victim for material damage and medical costs. The increased knowledge of discretion by an investigator that is not based on the rule of law means that it is against the law

Abstract

Perjudian yang terjadi di masyarakat perlu ditangani secara tegas mengingat dampaknya yang semakin meresahkan. Perjudian tidak hanya merugikan pelaku secara ekonomi, tetapi juga dapat menyebabkan hilangnya akal sehat hingga mengakibatkan penjualan harta benda dan peningkatan hutang. Kondisi ini mendorong penulis untuk meneliti penegakan hukum terhadap tindak pidana perjudian di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Polres Ogan Ilir, sebagai aparatur negara yang profesional, memiliki tugas memberikan perlindungan, pengayoman, dan pelayanan kepada masyarakat. Dalam memberantas tindak pidana perjudian, Polres Ogan Ilir menunjukkan komitmen yang kuat, terutama dalam wilayah hukum yang menjadi tanggung jawabnya. Setiap anggota organisasi Polres Ogan Ilir bekerja sesuai tugas dan fungsi masing-masing serta bersinergi untuk mencapai tujuan bersama. Penegakan hukum terhadap tindak pidana perjudian di wilayah ini telah dilakukan sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku, dengan hasil yang signifikan, sebagaimana terlihat dari data kasus perjudian yang berhasil ditangani sepanjang tahun 2022.
