Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is based on the problem of (a) How can the application of the discussion method in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subject, the topic of discussion about Getting to Know Worship in the Month of Ramadan, improve student learning achievement in Class VI SDN Sumbersari 04 Odd Semester 2022/2023 Academic Year? Meanwhile, the aim of this research is to determine the application of the discussion method in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), the main topic of discussion about Getting to Know Worship in the Month of Ramadhan can improve student learning achievement in Class VI SDN Sumbersari 04 Odd Semester 2022/2023 Academic Year. Each round consists of four stages, namely: Planning, Action, observation and reflection. The target of this research is class VI students for the 2022-2023 academic year. The data obtained is in the form of formative test results, observation sheets of teaching and learning activities. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the low results of the Islamic Religious Education test at SDN Sumbersari 04 is a challenge for educators to improve the quality of education at SDN Sumbersari 04. Therefore, the author is interested in conducting research related to discussion methods in the subject of Islamic Religious Education ( PAI) which the author formulated in the title "Application of Active Learning with Discussion Methods to Improve Student Achievement in Islamic Religious Education Subjects. Discussion Points: Getting to Know the Worship of the Month of Ramadan in Class VI SDN Sumbersari 04 Odd Semester 2022/2023 Academic Year". Abstrak Penelitian ini berdasarkan permasalahan (a) Bagaimana penerapan metode diskusi pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) pokok pembahasan tentang Mengenal Ibadah pada Bulan Ramadhan dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa di Kelas VI SDN Sumbersari 04 Semester Ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023? Sedangkan tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan metode diskusi pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) pokok pembahasan tentang Mengenal Ibadah pada Bulan Ramadhan dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa di Kelas VI SDN Sumbersari 04 Semester Ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023. Setiap putaran terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu : Perencanaan, Tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI Tahun pelajaran 2022-2023. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil tes formatif, lembar observasi kegiatan belajar mengajar. Dari hasil analis didapatkan bahwa rendahnya hasil tes Pendidikan Agama Islam di SDN Sumbersari 04 merupakan tantangan bagi para pendidik untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SDN Sumbersari 04. Maka dari itu, penulis tertarik untuk mengadakan penelitian yang berhubungan dengan metode diskusi pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) yang penulis formulasikan dalam judul “Penerapan Pembelajaran Aktif dengan Metode Diskusi untuk Meningkatkan Prestasi Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam Pokok Pembahasan Mengenal Ibadah Bulan Ramadhan di Kelas VI SDN Sumbersari 04 Semester Ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023”.

Abstract

The success of an educational institution in improving its quality is heavily influenced by the performance of its teachers as one of the key factors. Various aspects affect teacher performance, including age and educational background. Based on several studies, these two factors play a significant role in determining the level of teacher performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which teachers' age and educational background influence their performance in an educational foundation in Lamongan Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 102 teachers in three educational institutions under the foundation. The questionnaires were designed to measure three main variables: teacher age, educational background, and teacher performance. The data collected were analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the extent to which teacher age and educational background impact their performance. The data processing was conducted using SPSS 27 software. The findings reveal that teacher age (X1) and educational background (X2) have a positive and significant influence on teacher performance (Y), as evidenced by the significant values of X1 and X2, which were both <.001. The t-value for X1 was 5.042, while for X2, it was 4.454. Additionally, the combined variables of teacher age and educational background simultaneously influenced teacher performance, with a significance level of p= 0.001 and an impact percentage of 5.4%. Thus, it can be concluded that both factors significantly influence teacher performance within the foundation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore: (1) the role of cooperatives in increasing the economic independence of Islamic boarding schools, (2) obstacles and challenges faced in increasing economic independence, and (3) strategies in increasing economic independence. A qualitative approach with a case study research type was applied to the At-Ta'awun cooperative at the DDI Mangkoso Islamic Boarding School, Barru Regency. Data collection through interviews and observations, data analysis using data condensation patterns, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The technique of checking the validity of findings using triangulation techniques and source triangulation. The results showed that (1) the cooperative has a vital role in increasing the economic independence of the Islamic Boarding School by contributing to the welfare of santri, teachers, and the surrounding community, (2) several obstacles and challenges that need to be overcome, such as difficulties in harmonizing cooperative rules, limited resources, and lack of management and technology expertise, and (3) innovative and proactive strategies, such as cooperation with other Islamic Boarding School and employee development, the cooperative continues to strive to strengthen the economic independence of the Islamic Boarding School.

Abstract

Social character is one of the traits that educators must instill in students as a means of self-adjustment in Islamic boarding schools. Mentors, acting as middle managers, play an active role in instilling social character in students at Sabilurrosyad Putra Gasek Islamic Boarding School in Malang. The aim of this research is to reveal the strategies employed by mentors in instilling social character in students. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that mentors employ strategies to instill social character in students through a series of rules, learning activities, and guidance that emphasize providing guidance and advice, followed by setting direct examples in daily activities.

Abstract

The digital era has transformed the transmission of Islamic knowledge through open platforms and social media. This condition expands the reach of da’wah, but at the same time creates a crisis of scholarly authority in Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the process of knowledge institutionalization in the history of Islamic education and to explain the factors that cause the fragility of scholarly authority in the algorithmic era. This study used a qualitative approach with a library research design through historical and sociological perspectives. Data were obtained from classical and contemporary literature, then analyzed using critical discourse analysis. The results showed three main findings. First, the institutionalization of knowledge in Islam has been related from the outset to power relations, as reflected in the emergence of the madrasah. Second, the current crisis of scholarly authority is caused by an epistemological shift from the scarcity of knowledge to the abundance of information, in which algorithms replace sanad as a mechanism of legitimacy. Third, the reconstruction of scholarly authority requires innovations in the form of digital sanad, algorithmic critical literacy, and interactive virtual halaqah. These findings contribute to the development of Islamic education through a critical framework that connects classical scholarly institutions with digital disruption. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of reconstructing Islamic scholarly authority that is adaptive to the algorithmic era without neglecting the principles of tradition-based scholarly legitimacy. Further studies are recommended to conduct field research on online religious learning communities.

Abstract

Although the relationship between education and power has received attention in various previous studies, studies that specifically discuss Madrasah Nizamiyah as a systematic instrument of state religious consolidation through critical sociological analysis remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the role of Madrasah Nizamiyah as an educational-political instrument of the Seljuk Dynasty in consolidating Sunni orthodoxy and building political legitimacy. This study used a qualitative-interpretive approach with a historical-sociological design. Textual data sources were selected deliberately through purposive sampling, including primary works such as Siyasatnama by Nizam al-Mulk and Al-Kamil fi al-Tarikh by Ibn al-Athir. Data were collected through documentation study and were then analyzed using content analysis and contextual analysis with the theoretical frameworks of Weber’s legitimacy theory and Bourdieu’s cultural capital. The results showed that the Madrasah Nizamiyah network functioned as a “bureaucratic factory” that effectively converted political capital into symbolic-religious authority through curriculum standardization, a sustainable waqf funding system, and the strategic recruitment of influential ulama such as al-Ghazali. These findings contribute to the development of studies on the sociology of Islamic education and expand understanding of the relationship between religion and the state in medieval Islamic civilization. The conclusion of this study confirms that the institutionalization of education played a crucial role in maintaining social stability and state hegemony. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to the literature on social reproduction as well as practical recommendations for strengthening the independence of religious educational institutions through financial autonomy and curriculum integration in facing modern ideological challenges.
