Abstract

Cow's milk allergy is a common condition in babies and children. Allergic reactions can occur when the body reacts to the proteins in cow's milk, causing various symptoms such as skin rashes, vomiting, diarrhea, or even more serious reactions. Babies who suffer from cow's milk allergy need appropriate treatment so that their growth and development is not disrupted. One approach used in managing cow's milk allergy is to provide an extensive hydrolyzate formula. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of providing extensive hydrolyzed formula on the growth and development of babies suffering from cow's milk allergy. This study used qualitative research methods. The data collection technique in this research is literature study. The data that has been collected is then analyzed in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study concluded that the use of extensive hydrolyzed formula is an effective choice for babies who are allergic to cow's milk. This research shows that this formula has a positive impact on the baby's weight growth according to his age. However, in terms of infant development, there is no significant difference in the effect between the use of extensive hydrolyzed formula and soy protein isolate on various aspects, including global development, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language and social personality in children who are allergic to cow's milk

Abstract

Development is something that must occur in living things, including humans. The development that occurs in a child is cognitive and psychomotor development. However, there are several factors that hinder development, one of which is being born prematurely. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of prematurity on children's cognitive and psychomotor development. The research method used in this research is a literature review with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique is done with documentation. So that the data source used is secondary data. After the data is obtained, data analysis is carried out with Miles & Hubberman interactive analysis through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. It was found that prematurity has a significant impact on the development of children's cognitive and psychomotor development as their organs are not fully developed, leading to the risk of complications and impairment of these abilities. So, the importance of cognitive and physical stimulation programs to support the optimal development of children born prematurely

Abstract

Cow's milk allergy is one of the significant health problems in infants and children that impacts their quality of life. As a solution, amino acid-based infant formula has become an innovative alternative to address this challenge. However, the effectiveness of their use requires further substantiation through previous studies. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of amino acid-based formula in the management of cow's milk allergy in infants and children. The results showed that amino acid-based formula is an effective solution in managing cow's milk allergy. It is completely allergen-free, easy to digest, and supports optimal growth and development of infants and children. The use of this formula significantly reduces allergy symptoms by avoiding exposure to cow's milk protein, while improving the quality of life of infants and children with cow's milk allergy. Thus, the results of this study confirm the importance of amino acid-based formulas as a safe and efficient treatment option for infants and children with cow's milk allergy.
