Abstract

Abstrak: Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran minat literasi dan numerasi siswa atau menjadikanya sebagai budaya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di SMPN 2 Praya Tengah Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif praktik, yakni melalui teknik/ tahap observasi, tahap sosialisasi & implementasi, serta tahap tahap evaluasi. Informan penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, pustakawan, guru, peserta didik dan lingkungan prasarana sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan secara kompherensif dan aktual faktor kausalitas atas problem rendahnya tingkat kemampuan serta tidak meleknya siswa terhadap literasi (baca, tulis dan menghitung). Setelah dilaksanakn program GLS dan berdasarkan hasil evaluasi tim pengabdian, perubahan kesadaran dan semangat membudayakan literasi sangat terlihat, hingga sampai pada kemampuan berfikir, dan kualitas intelektual yang dapat memengaruhi perubahan nilai akademik secara optimal. Siswa yang semulanya pasif kini menjadi aktif.Abstract: The School Literacy Movement (GLS) was carried out with the aim of increasing awareness of students' interest in literacy and numeracy or making it a culture. This service activity was carried out at SMPN 2 Praya Tengah, Central Lombok Regency. This service uses qualitative methods with a practical descriptive approach, namely through techniques/observation stages, socialization & implementation stages, as well as evaluation stages. Research informants include school principals, deputy principals for curriculum, librarians, teachers, students and the school infrastructure environment. Based on the research results, it shows comprehensive and actual causal factors for the problem of low levels of ability and students' lack of literacy in literacy (reading, writing and calculating). After implementing the GLS program and based on the evaluation results of the service team, changes in awareness and enthusiasm for cultivating literacy were very visible, down to the ability to think and intellectual qualities that could influence changes in academic grades optimally. Students who were originally passive have now become active.
