Abstract

One of the abundant water resources on the island of Kalimantan is peat water, because peatlands are widely distributed in West Kalimantan, especially in Kubu Raya Regency. Residents living in peat swamps in parts of Kalimantan, especially in the area of Rasau Jaya Village, Kubu Raya Regency, use peatlands as a residence and land for plantations and agriculture, so that they use dug wells in the form of peat water and are widely used by local residents to carry out daily activities days such as washing, bathing, cooking and so on. Heavy metals in the form of Pb and As are pollutants that are difficult to degrade and even tend to accumulate in the body of exposed living things. The purpose of this study was to analyze the content of Pb and As metals in peat water in Rasau Jaya Village, Kubu Raya Regency. The research design used is descriptive method. The population in this study was peat water in the area of Rasau Jaya Village, Kubu Raya Regency. A sample of 10 peat well water samples from the Dusun Kebun Jeruk residents, Rasau Jaya Village, Kubu Raya Regency. The results were obtained based on Permenkes RI RI No. 32 of 2017 Concerning Environmental Health Standard Quality Standards and Water Health Requirements for Hygiene, Swimming Pool, Solus Per Aqua, and Public Baths used for clean well water samples that met 40% quality standards, namely Well 3, 6, 8 and 9.

Abstract

Blood glucose level is the amount of glucose in the blood. High blood glucose levels can be lowered with traditional plants such as red shoots. The leaves of the red shoots are commonly used as herbal medicine as antibacterial, antioxidant and antidiabetic. The content of flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, polyphenols found in red shoots is known to have antidiabetic activity. The purpose of this study was to explain the effect of giving red shoots leaf extract on blood glucose levels. The method used is the enzymatic method with a glucometer. This research methodology is a Quasi Experimental Design. The population and samples in this study were male (Mus musculus) mice, 2-3 months old and weighing 20-30 grams with 3 treatments, namely 200 mg/kgBW, 400 mg/kgBW, 600 mg/kgBW. The results of the Simple Linear Regression test for a dose of 200 mg/kgBW, a dose of 400 mg/kgBW and a dose of 600 mg/kgBW obtained p value = 0.000 < 0.05 then Ha is accepted, which means that there is a significant effect between red shoot leaf extract on levels of blood glucose.

Abstract

— Isolation and identification of active compounds from mentawak fruit (Artocarpus Anisophyllus) used a plant determination test to determine the plant content. Furthermore, the extraction process was carried out to obtain a crude extract of carotenoid pigments by maceration method using n-hexane as solvent. Furthermore, the obtained macerate was carried out by phytochemical tests to determine the content of the active compounds. The TLC test was carried out to confirm the presence of a positive group of compounds on phytochemical screening, and to determine the chromatographic profile of the extract.  The identification results showed that the phytochemicals showed that the active compounds contained in macerate were alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins. The KLT test results obtained an Rf value of 0.875. While the total carotenoid content using a spectrophotometer UV-Vis is 958 µg/ml.
