The advancement of technology and information makes human life easier, but at the same time it makes some humans lack morals and behave badly due to lack of socialization. Behind all the bad impacts on the development of technology, there are also positive impacts in it, such as in the field of education. One of the positive impacts is ICT (Information and Communication Technology) learning media. The purpose of this study is to determine the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as a Source and Media for Modern 21st Century Learning in Elementary Schools. The results of the study explain that the usefulness of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as a source and modern learning media in elementary school children is very useful and helps students in carrying out learning. The conclusion of this study explains the usefulness of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as a source and modern learning media in elementary school children is very helpful in the learning process. The researcher realizes the limitations of this study were only conducted in elementary schools in one of the districts in West Sumatra province, the researcher hopes that future researchers can conduct the same research with a wider range in order to continue this research. Researchers also recommend to researchers who will continue to be a benchmark in conducting research related to the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as a modern learning resource and media in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum on student engagement and academic performance in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning at Wangiwisata Public Elementary School, located in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest design. Data were obtained through student engagement questionnaires, academic performance tests, and teacher interviews. The population consisted of fourth- and fifth-grade students in elementary schools that had implemented the Merdeka Curriculum for at least one academic year. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, focusing specifically on students and teachers from Wangiwisata Public Elementary School. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to measure changes in engagement and academic performance, and Pearson correlation to examine the relationship between these two variables. Thematic analysis was applied to qualitative data from teacher interviews. The results indicate a notable increase in student engagement across cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions, with an average increase of over 20%. Academic performance also improved, particularly in critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Teachers reported greater flexibility in designing learning activities, and the active learning approach promoted by the curriculum enabled students to relate learning materials to real-life contexts. These findings suggest that the Merdeka Curriculum has the potential to enhance both student engagement and academic outcomes when implemented effectively, especially in the context of public elementary education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify specific discrepancies between the health education content taught in primary schools and the content that should ideally be taught. The content taught includes personal hygiene, nutrition and healthy eating, and the dangers of smoking and addictive substances. Health education at the primary school age is particularly important because children at this stage are vulnerable to health risks, and early education has been shown to be effective in shaping sustainable health-conscious attitudes. The study employed a survey method in the Greater Bandung area, encompassing Bandung City, Cimahi City, Bandung Regency, and West Bandung Regency.A sample of 20 schools and 120 students was selected proportionately at random.Data were collected through structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews, and were analyzed descriptively to identify gaps in health education content. The results indicated that 65% of students did not receive adequate education on personal hygiene, including proper handwashing, bathing, and hair washing. Furthermore, 58% of students lacked sufficient understanding about nutrition and healthy eating, while 72% did not receive education about the dangers of smoking and addictive substances. These findings underscore the necessity to fortify the health education curriculum in primary schools. This study proposes the formulation of a more comprehensive and integrated school-based curriculum, including the delineation of specific time allocations for health education and the training of teachers in the effective delivery of health materials.Practical implications of this study include the necessity of raising awareness of the paramount importance of health education through collaboration between schools, parents, and communities to foster an environment that supports children's health.
